Psalms 7

1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush, the son of Jemini.	1 (Salmo di David, da lui cantato al Signore per le parole di Cusi Beniaminita ).
2 O Lord, my God, in you I have hoped. Save me from all those who persecute me, and free me:	2 Signore, Dio mio, in te ho posta la mia speranza, salvami e liberami da tutti i miei persecutori;
3 lest at any time, like a lion, he might seize my soul, while there is no one to redeem me, nor any who can save.	3 Chè (il nemico) qual leone non rapisca l'anima mia, quando non v'è chi possa liberare e salvare.
4 O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this:	4 Signore, Dio mio, se ho fatto questo, se c'è dell'iniquità nelle mie mani.
5 if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies:	5 Se ho fatto del male a chi mi ha fatto del male, cada disarmato, come mi merito, sotto i miei nemici.
6 let the enemy pursue my soul, and take hold of it, and trample my life into the earth, and drag down my glory into the dust.	6 Il nemico mi perseguiti e mi raggiunga, calpesti la mia vita, e riduca in polvere la mia gloria.
7 Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,	7 Alzati, o Signore, nel tuo furore, mostra la tua grandezza in mezzo ai miei nemici. Alzati, o Signore mio Dio, secondo la legge da te stabilita.
8 and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.	8 E l'assemblea dei popoli si aduni intorno a te: per lei torna nell'alto seggio.
9 The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.	9 Il Signore giudica i popoli. Giudicami, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia e secondo la mia innocenza.
10 The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.	10 La malvagità dei peccatori abbia fine, e sii guida del giusto, tu o Dio, che scruti i cuori e gli affetti.
11 Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.	11 Il mio giusto aiuto è dal Signore, che salva i retti di cuore.
12 God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?	12 Dio è giusto giudice, forte e paziente. Darà corso all'ira giorno per giorno?
13 Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.	13 Se non vi convertirete roterà la sua spada: ha già teso il suo arco, e lo tien pronto.
14 And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.	14 E in esso ha preparate le mortifere saette, le ha rese terribili col fuoco.
15 Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.	15 Eccolo a partorire l'ingiustizia: ha concepito il dolore e ha partorito l'iniquità.
16 He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.	16 Ha aperta e scavata una fossa, e nella fossa che ha scavata c'è caduto lui.
17 His sorrow will be turned upon his own head, and his iniquity will descend upon his highest point.	17 Il suo dolore gli ritorna sul capo, la sua iniquità gli ricade sulla testa.
18 I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.	18 Ed io glorificherò il Signore per la sua giustizia, canterò inni di lode al nome dell'Altissimo Signore.
