Psalms 149

1 Alleluia. Sing to the Lord a new song. His praise is in the Church of the saints.	1 Alléluia! Chantez au Seigneur un chant nouveau, pour sa louange dans l’assemblée des saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him who made them, and let the sons of Zion exult in their king.	2 Qu’Israël soit en joie pour celui qui l’a fait, que les fils de Sion fassent fête à leur roi.
3 Let them praise his name in chorus. Let them sing psalms to him with the timbrel and the psaltery.	3 Qu’ils louent son nom par la danse, qu’ils jouent pour lui de la harpe et du tambourin.
4 For the Lord is well pleased with his people, and he will exalt the meek unto salvation.	4 Car le Seigneur se complaît en son peuple, son salut est la parure qu’il réserve aux humbles.
5 The saints will exult in glory. They will rejoice upon their couches.	5 Ses fidèles, dans leur gloire, ne se contiendront pas: ils crieront de joie jusque dans leur lit.
6 The exultations of God will be in their throat, and two-edged swords will be in their hands:	6 Dans leur bouche seront les louanges de Dieu, et dans leurs mains l’épée à deux tranchants,
7 to obtain vindication among the nations, chastisements among the peoples,	7 pour exercer la vengeance contre les nations, quand les peuples recevront leur châtiment;
8 to bind their kings with shackles and their nobles with manacles of iron,	8 pour passer des chaînes à leurs rois et des menottes de fer à leurs grands seigneurs,
9 to obtain judgment over them, as it has been written. This is glory for all his saints. Alleluia.	9 pour leur appliquer la sentence écrite: c’est là l’honneur réservé à ses fidèles. Alléluia!
