1 Therefore call, if there are any who will respond to you, and turn to one or another of the saints.	1 Chiama, dunque! Ti risponderà forse qualcuno? E a chi fra i santi ti rivolgerai?
2 Truly, anger condemns the foolish to death, and envy kills the petty.	2 Poiché allo stolto dà morte lo sdegno e la collera fa morire lo sciocco.
3 I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I have cursed his excellence without hesitation.	3 Io ho visto lo stolto metter radici, ma imputridire la sua dimora all'istante.
4 His sons will be far from prosperity and will be crushed at the gate, and there will be none who can rescue them.	4 I suoi figli sono lungi dal prosperare, sono oppressi alla porta, senza difensore;
5 Their harvest, the starving will eat. The armed man will rob him, and the thirsty will drink his resources.	5 l'affamato ne divora la messe e gente assetata ne succhia gli averi.
6 Nothing on earth occurs without a reason, and sorrow does not rise from the earth.	6 Non esce certo dalla polvere la sventura né germoglia dalla terra il dolore,
7 Man is born to labor, and the bird to fly.	7 ma è l'uomo che genera pene, come le scintille volano in alto.
8 Therefore, because of this, I will beg the Lord, and place my eloquence before God.	8 Io, invece, mi rivolgerei a Dio e a Dio esporrei la mia causa:
9 He does great and unfathomable and miraculous things without number.	9 a lui, che fa cose grandi e incomprensibili, meraviglie senza numero,

19 He will deliver you into six tribulations, and in the seventh, evil will not touch you.	19 Da sei tribolazioni ti libererà e alla settima non ti toccherà il male;
20 During famine, he will rescue you from death, and during war, from the hand of the sword.	20 nella carestia ti scamperà dalla morte e in guerra dal colpo della spada;
21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and you will not fear calamity when it arrives.	21 sarai al riparo dal flagello della lingua, né temerai quando giunge la rovina.
22 In desolation and in famine, you will laugh, and you will not dread the beasts of the earth.	22 Della rovina e della fame ti riderai né temerai le bestie selvatiche;
23 For you are in harmony with the stones of the land, and the beasts of the earth will make peace with you.	23 con le pietre del campo avrai un patto e le bestie selvatiche saranno in pace con te.
24 And you will know that your home has peace, and, concerning your appearance, you will not sin.	24 Conoscerai la prosperità della tua tenda, visiterai la tua proprietà e non sarai deluso.
25 Likewise, you will know that your offspring will be manifold and your progeny will be like the grass of the earth.	25 Vedrai, numerosa, la prole, i tuoi rampolli come l'erba dei prati.
26 You will enter the grave with abundance, just as a crop of wheat is gathered in its time.	26 Te ne andrai alla tomba in piena maturità, come si ammucchia il grano a suo tempo.
27 Behold, this is just as we have found it, which you have heard; walk it through your mind.	27 Ecco, questo abbiamo osservato: è così. Ascoltalo e sappilo per tuo bene.
