1 Therefore call, if there are any who will respond to you, and turn to one or another of the saints.	1 ¡Llama, pues! ¿Habrá quien te responda? ¿a cuál de los santos vas a dirigirte?
2 Truly, anger condemns the foolish to death, and envy kills the petty.	2 En verdad el enojo mata al insensato, la pasión hace morir al necio.
3 I have seen a fool with a strong root, and I have cursed his excellence without hesitation.	3 Yo mismo he visto al insensato echar raíces, y sin tardar he maldecido su morada:
4 His sons will be far from prosperity and will be crushed at the gate, and there will be none who can rescue them.	4 ¡Estén sus hijos lejos de toda salvación, sin defensor hollados en la Puerta!
5 Their harvest, the starving will eat. The armed man will rob him, and the thirsty will drink his resources.	5 Su cosecha la devora un hambriento, pues Dios se la quita de los dientes, y los sedientos absorben su fortuna.
6 Nothing on earth occurs without a reason, and sorrow does not rise from the earth.	6 No, no brota la iniquidad el polvo, ni germina del suelo la aflicción.
7 Man is born to labor, and the bird to fly.	7 Es el hombre quien la aflicción engendra, como levantan el vuelo los hijos del relámpago.
8 Therefore, because of this, I will beg the Lord, and place my eloquence before God.	8 Yo por mí a Dios recurriría, expondría a Dios mi causa.
9 He does great and unfathomable and miraculous things without number.	9 El es autor de obras grandiosas e insondables, de maravillas sin número.

18 For he wounds and he cures; he strikes and his hands will heal.	18 Pues él es el que hiere y el que venda la herida, el que llaga y luego cura con su mano;
19 He will deliver you into six tribulations, and in the seventh, evil will not touch you.	19 seis veces ha de librarte de la angustia, y a la séptima el mal no te alcanzará.
20 During famine, he will rescue you from death, and during war, from the hand of the sword.	20 Durante el hambre te salvará de la muerte, y en la guerra, del alcance de la espada.
21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, and you will not fear calamity when it arrives.	21 Estarás a cubierto del punzón de la lengua, sin miedo a la devastación, cuando se acerque.
22 In desolation and in famine, you will laugh, and you will not dread the beasts of the earth.	22 Te reirás de la sequía y de la helada, y no temerás a las bestias de la tierra.
23 For you are in harmony with the stones of the land, and the beasts of the earth will make peace with you.	23 Pues con las piedras del campo harás alianza, la bestia salvaje vivirá en paz contigo.
24 And you will know that your home has peace, and, concerning your appearance, you will not sin.	24 Sabrás que tu tienda está a cubierto, nada echarás en falta cuando revises tu morada.
25 Likewise, you will know that your offspring will be manifold and your progeny will be like the grass of the earth.	25 Sabrás que tu descendencia es numerosa, tus vástagos, como la hierba de la tierra.
26 You will enter the grave with abundance, just as a crop of wheat is gathered in its time.	26 Llegarás a la tumba vigoroso, como se hacinan las gavillas a su tiempo.
27 Behold, this is just as we have found it, which you have heard; walk it through your mind.	27 Todo esto es lo que hemos observado: y así es. A ti te toca escuchar y aprovecharte.
