2 Corinthians 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 For we are well aware that when the tent that houses us on earth is folded up, there is a house for usfrom God, not made by human hands but everlasting, in the heavens.	1 Or sapemo che la nostra magione terrena. di questa nostra abitazione si distruggerà; chè noi avemo da Dio edificazione, cioè casa, non fatta con mano, ma (sarà) eternale nelli cieli.
2 And in this earthly state we do indeed groan,	2 E veramente per questa cosa piangiamo noi, desiderando d'essere vestiti della nostra abitazione la quale è del cielo;
3 longing to put on our heavenly home over the present one; if indeed we are to be found clothed ratherthan stripped bare.	3 purchè noi siamo trovati vestiti, e non nudi.
4 Yes, indeed, in this present tent, we groan under the burden, not that we want to be stripped of ourcovering, but because we want to be covered with a second garment on top, so that what is mortal in us may beswal owed up by life.	4 E quanto tempo noi siamo in questo tabernacolo, sì sospiriamo gravati da lui (cioè dal corpo); e non volemo essere spogliati, ma sopravestiti, perchè quella cosa ch' è mortale sia inghiottita dalla vita.
5 It is God who designed us for this very purpose, and he has given us the Spirit as a pledge.	5 Ma quello che compie noi a questa cosa, sì è Dio il quale diede a noi pegno il Spirito (Santo).
6 We are always ful of confidence, then, realising that as long as we are at home in the body we areexiled from the Lord,	6 Adunque noi per questo siamo arditi sempre, sappiendo che mentre che noi siamo (in questo mondo) nel corpo, sì siamo lontani da Dio.
7 guided by faith and not yet by sight;	7 Chè noi andiamo per fede, e non per bellezza di veduta.
8 we are ful of confidence, then, and long instead to be exiled from the body and to be at home with theLord.	8 E avemo ardire e buona volontà maggiormente d'essere partiti dal corpo e presenti a Dio.
9 And so whether at home or exiled, we make it our ambition to please him.	9 E imperò ci sforziamo noi di piacere a lui, o da presso o da lungi che noi siamo.
10 For at the judgement seat of Christ we are al to be seen for what we are, so that each of us mayreceive what he has deserved in the body, matched to whatever he has done, good or bad.	10 Chè bisogno è che noi siamo presentati dinanzi alla sedia di Cristo, perchè ciascheduno renda ragione de' fatti del suo corpo, buoni ovvero rei che siano.
11 And so it is with the fear of the Lord always in mind that we try to win people over. But God sees us forwhat we are, and I hope your consciences do too.	11 Adunque noi che sappiamo, sì predichiamo la gente, perchè temano Dio; chè noi siamo manifesti a Dio (e non ci possiamo nascondere), e abbiamo speranza nelle vostre conscienze d' essere manifesti.
12 Again we are saying this not to commend ourselves to you, but simply to give you the opportunity totake pride in us, so that you may have an answer for those who take pride in appearances and not inner reality.	12 Noi non ci lodiamo ancora da capo a voi, ma diamo cagione a voi di gloriarvi per noi, perchè andiate a coloro che si pregiano di fuori, e non dentro.
13 If we have been unreasonable, it was for God; if reasonable, for you.	13 Certamente se colla mente passiamo a Dio, ovver che siamo temperati a voi,
14 For the love of Christ overwhelms us when we consider that if one man died for all, then al have died;	14 la carità di Cristo constringe noi, pensando questo, che per tutti fu morto Cristo.
15 his purpose in dying for all humanity was that those who live should live not any more for themselves,but for him who died and was raised to life.	15 Adunque quando Cristo solo fu morto per tutti quelli che vivono, non vivano a sè medesimi, ma vivano a colui che fu morto per tutti, e resuscitò.
16 From now onwards, then, we wil not consider anyone by human standards: even if we were oncefamiliar with Christ according to human standards, we do not know him in that way any longer.	16 Adunque noi non cognoscemo nullo (di questo mondo) secondo la carne, che cosi fusse resuscitato dopo la morte, se non Cristo.
17 So for anyone who is in Christ, there is a new creation: the old order is gone and a new being is thereto see.	17 .... le cose vecchie son passate; ecco tutte le cose son fatte nuove.
18 It is all God's work; he reconciled us to himself through Christ and he gave us the ministry ofreconciliation.	18 E tutte son fatte da Dio, il quale racconciò noi a sè per Cristo, e diede a noi le cose secrete del racconciamento.
19 I mean, God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not holding anyone's faults against them,but entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.	19 Chè certamente Dio era in Cristo, racconciando il mondo a sè, non computando gli peccati alli uomini (del mondo), e puose in noi la parola del racconciamento.
20 So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were urging you through us, and in the name ofChrist we appeal to you to be reconciled to God.	20 Per Cristo adunque (fratelli) noi usiamo legazione (e vicaria), sì come Dio conforta (la gente) per noi. Preghiamovi noi per Cristo, che vi racconciliate con Dio.
21 For our sake he made the sinless one a victim for sin, so that in him we might become the uprightnessof God.	21 Chè Dio fece per noi patire il peccato a colui che non amò il peccato, perchè noi compiamo la giustizia di Dio per Cristo.
