Jeremiah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 'When that time comes, Yahweh declares, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its chief men,the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, wil be takenfrom their tombs.	1 En aquel tiempo –oráculo del Señor– sacarán de sus tumbas los huesos de los reyes de Judá, los huesos de sus príncipes, los huesos de los sacerdotes, los huesos de los profetas y los huesos de los habitantes de Jerusalén.
2 They wil be spread out before the sun, the moon, the whole array of heaven, whom they have loved andserved, fol owed, consulted and worshipped. They wil not be gathered or reburied but will be left lying on thesurface like dung.	2 Los expondrán ante el sol y la luna, y ante todo el Ejército de los cielos, a los que ellos amaron y sirvieron, a los que ellos amaron y sirvieron, a los que ellos siguieron y consultaron, y ante los cuales se postraron, Y no serán recogidos ni enterrados, sino que se convertirán en estiércol sobre la superficie del suelo.
3 And death will seem preferable to life to al the survivors of this wicked race, wherever I have driventhem, Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	3 La muerte será preferible a la vida para todos los sobrevivientes que hayan quedado de esa familia perversa, en todos los lugares adonde yo los expulsaré –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
4 'You are to tel them, "Yahweh says this: If someone fal s, can he not stand up again? If people stray,can they not turn back?	4 Tú les dirás: Así habla el Señor: ¿No se levanta el que cae? ¿Y no vuelve el que se desvía?
5 Why does this people persist in acts of infidelity, why does Jerusalem persist in continuous infidelity?They cling to il usion, they refuse to turn back.	5 ¿Por qué entonces ha defeccionado este pueblo y Jerusalén es una apostasía sin fin? Ellos se aferran a sus ilusiones, se niegan a volver.
6 I have listened attentively: they have never said anything like that. Not one repents of wickednesssaying: What have I done? Each one keeps returning to the course like a horse charging into battle.	6 Yo escuché con la mayor atención: ellos no hablan como es debido, ni uno solo se arrepiente de su maldad, diciendo: «¿Qué es lo que hice?». Todos vuelven a sus andanzas, como un caballo que se lanza al combate.
7 Even the stork in the sky knows the appropriate season; turtledove, swal ow and crane observe theirtime of migration. But my people do not know Yahweh's laws!" '	7 Hasta la cigüeña, en el cielo, conoce sus estaciones; la tórtola, la golondrina y la grulla tienen en cuenta el tiempo de sus migraciones ¡Pero mi pueblo no conoce el derecho del Señor!
8 How can you say, 'We are wise, since we have Yahweh's Law?' Look how it has been falsified by thelying pen of the scribes!	8 ¿Cómo ustedes se atreven a decir: «Somos sabios y la Ley del Señor está con nosotros», siendo así que la ha falsificado la pluma engañosa de los escribas?
9 The wise are put to shame, alarmed, caught out because they have rejected Yahweh's word. What pricetheir wisdom now?	9 Los sabios se cubrirán de vergüenza, quedarán espantados, atrapados. Ellos han despreciado la palabra del Señor: ¿qué sabiduría es entonces la de ellos?
10 So I shal give their wives to other men, their fields to new masters, for, from the least to greatest, theyare al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of them practise fraud.	10 Por eso, yo entregaré sus mujeres a otros, y sus campos a usurpadores. Porque del más pequeño al más grande, todos están ávidos de ganancias y desde el profeta hasta el sacerdote, no hacen otra cosa que engañar.
11 Without concern they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereasthere is no peace.	11 Ellos curan a la ligera el quebranto de la hija de mi pueblo, diciendo: «¡Paz, paz!», pero no hay paz.
12 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when the time for punishing themcomes, Yahweh says.	12 ¿Se avergüenzan de la abominación que cometieron? ¡No, no sienten la menor vergüenza, no saben los que es sonrojarse! Por eso, ellos caerán con los que caen, sucumbirán cuando tengan que dar cuenta, dice el Señor.
13 I shal put an end to them, Yahweh declares, no more grapes on the vine, no more figs on the fig treeonly withered leaves: I have found them people to trample on them!	13 Cuando quiero cosechar entre ellos –oráculo del Señor– no hay uvas en la viña, no hay higos en la higuera, y el follaje está marchito.
14 Why are we sitting still? Mobilise! Take to the fortified towns and there fall silent, since Yahweh ourGod means to silence us by giving us poisoned water to drink because we have sinned against him.	14 ¿Por qué nos quedamos quietos? Reúnanse y entremos en las plazas fuertes para perecer allí, porque el Señor, nuestro Dios, nos hace perecer y nos da de beber agua envenenada, porque hemos pecado contra el Señor.
15 We are hoping for peace -- no good came of it! For the time of healing -- nothing but terror!	15 Se esperaba la paz ¡y no hay nada bueno...! el tiempo de la curación, ¡y sobrevino el espanto!
16 From Dan you can hear the snorting of his horses; at the neighing of his stal ions the whole countryquakes; they are coming to devour the country and its contents, the town and those that live in it.	16 Desde Dan se escucha el resuello de sus caballos; por el ruido de los relinchos de sus corceles tiembla toda la tierra. Ellos llegan y devoran el país y todo lo que hay en él, la ciudad y a los que habitan en ella.
17 Yes, now I am sending you poisonous snakes against which no charm exists; and they wil bite you,Yahweh declares.	17 Porque yo envío contra ustedes serpientes venenosas, contra las que no hay encantamientos: ellas los morderán –oráculo del Señor –
18 Incurable sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me.	18 y no habrá remedio. Me invade la aflicción, mi corazón está dolorido.
19 Hark, from the daughter of my people the cry for help, ringing far and wide throughout the land! 'IsYahweh no longer in Zion, her King no longer there?' (Why have they provoked me with their idols, with theirfutile foreign gods?)	19 El grito de alarma de la hija de mi pueblo se eleva a lo largo de todo el país: «¿No está el Señor en Sión, no está en ella su Rey?». ¿Por qué me han indignado con sus ídolos, con las Vanidades del extranjero?
20 'Harvest is over, summer at an end, and we have not been saved!'	20 «Pasó la cosecha, terminó el verano, ¡y nosotros no hemos sido salvados! :.
21 The wound of the daughter of my people wounds me too, all looks dark to me, terror grips me.	21 Estoy abrumado por el desastre de la hija de mi pueblo, estoy ensombrecido, la consternación se apoderó de mí.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead any more? Is no doctor there? Then why is there no progress in the cure ofthe daughter of my people?	22 ¿No hay más bálsamo en Galaad? ¿No hay allí ningún médico? ¿Por qué entonces no cicatriza la llaga de la hija de mi pueblo?
23 Who wil turn my head into a fountain, and my eyes into a spring of tears, that I can weep day and nightover the slain of the daughter of my people?	23 ¡Ojalá mi cabeza se convirtiera en llanto y mis ojos en fuente de lágrimas, para llorar de día y de noche por las víctimas de la hija de mi pueblo!
