Jeremiah 28

1 That same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourthyear, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, a Gibeonite, spoke as follows to Jeremiah in the Temple of Yahweh inthe presence of the priests and of al the people,	1 - Or avvenne che in quello stesso anno, in principio del regno di Sedecia, re di Giuda, cioè, il quarto anno nel quinto mese, Anania figlio di Azur, profeta di Gabaon, mi apostrofò nella casa del Signore in presenza dei sacerdoti e di tutto il popolo dicendo:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.	2 «Così dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: - Ho spezzato il giogo del re di Babilonia.
3 In exactly two years' time I shal bring back al the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh whichNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from here and carried off to Babylon.	3 Ancor due anni di tempo e io farò ritornare in questo luogo tutto il vasellame della casa del Signore che Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, tolse di qui e trasportò in Babilonia.
4 And I shal also bring back Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah and al the exiles of Judah whohave gone to Babylon, Yahweh declares, for I shal break the yoke of the king of Babylon." '	4 E Jeconia, figlio di Joachin re di Giuda, e tutta la gente che fu deportata da Giuda e internata in Babilonia farò ritornare in questo luogo, dice il Signore, perchè infrangerò il giogo del re di Babilonia -».
5 The prophet Jeremiah then replied to the prophet Hananiah in front of the priests and al the peoplepresent in the Temple of Yahweh.	5 E Geremia profeta rispose al profeta Anania in presenza dei sacerdoti e al cospetto di tutto il popolo che stava nella casa del Signore,
6 'So be it!' the prophet Jeremiah said, 'May Yahweh do so! May he fulfil the words that you haveprophesied and bring al the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh and al the exiles back to this place from Babylon.	6 e disse Geremia profeta: «Così sia! Così faccia il Signore! Adempia il Signore le parole che hai profetizzato, affinchè tornino i vasi nella casa del Signore e tutta la gente deportata in Babilonia, in questo luogo.
7 Listen carefully, however, to this word that I am now going to say for you and al the people to hear:	7 Per altro, ascolta questa parola che io pronunzio nelle tue orecchie e in quelle di tutto il popolo:
8 From remote times, the prophets who preceded you and me prophesied war, disaster and plague formany countries and for great kingdoms;	8 - I profeti che furono prima di me e di te ab antico hanno pure profetizzato su molti paesi e su regni grandi, di guerra, di angustia, e di fame.
9 the prophet who prophesies peace can be recognised as one truly sent by Yahweh only when his wordcomes true.'	9 Il profeta, dunque, che ha predetta la pace, all'avverarsi della sua parola si riconoscerà profeta mandato veramente dal Signore -».
10 The prophet Hananiah then snatched the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it.	10 Allora il profeta Anania strappò le ritorte dal collo del profeta Geremia e le fece in pezzi.
11 In front of al the people Hananiah then said, 'Yahweh says this, "This is how, in exactly two years'time, I shall break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and take it off the necks of al the nations." ' Atthis, the prophet Jeremiah went away.	11 E Anania esclamò al cospetto di tutto il popolo dicendo: «Così dice il Signore: - A questo modo spezzerò il giogo di Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia passati due anni di tempo, d'in sul collo di tutte le genti -».
12 After the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke he had snatched off the prophet Jeremiah's neck,the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah,	12 E Geremia profeta prese la via e se ne andò. Dopo che il profeta Anania ebbe ridotto in pezzi le ritorte che stavano sul collo di Geremia profeta, la parola fu comunicata a Geremia dal Signore che gli disse:
13 'Go to Hananiah and tell him this, "Yahweh says this: You have broken the wooden yokes only tomake iron yokes to replace them!	13 «Va' e dirai ad Anania: - Così dice il Signore: "Le ritorte di legno hai spezzato, ma in loro vece tu hai fatto le ritorte di ferro!".
14 For Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: An iron yoke is what I now lay on the necks of althese nations to enslave them to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. (They wil be enslaved to him; I have evengiven him the wild animals.)" '	14 Perchè, così dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio di Israele: "Un giogo di ferro ho posto sul collo di tutte coteste nazioni perchè servano Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia e serve gli saranno, e di più, gli animali del campo a lui ho dato" -».
15 The prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, 'Listen careful y, Hananiah: Yahweh has not sentyou; and thanks to you this people is now relying on what is false.	15 Poi Geremia profeta disse al profeta Anania: «Ascolta, o Anania, non è il Signore che ti ha mandato, e tu hai fatto credere questo popolo nella menzogna.
16 And so, Yahweh says this, "I am going to send you off the face of the earth: you wil die this year(since you have preached rebel ion against Yahweh)." '	16 Perciò, così dice il Signore: - Ecco ch'io ti darò lo sfratto dalla faccia della terra; quest'anno stesso morrai, perchè hai parlato contrariamente al Signore!».
17 The prophet Hananiah died the same year, in the seventh month.	17 E Anania morì in quello stesso anno, al settimo mese.
