Leviticus 20

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e dissegli:
2 'Say to the Israelites: "Anyone, be he Israelite or alien resident in Israel, who gives any of his childrento Molech, wil be put to death. The people of the country must stone him,	2 Parlerai queste parole alli figliuoli d'Israel: nullo uomo del popolo d'Israel e de' forestieri, che sarà nel popolo, dia della sua progenie allo idolo Moloc: e se alcuno gliene desse, morrà inconta nente; il popolo della terra il lapiderà.
3 and I shall set my face against that man and outlaw him from his people; for by giving a child of his toMolech he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.	3 E la faccia mia porrò contra di lui, e leve rollo di mezzo del popolo suo; però ch' hae offerto dello seme suo a Moloc, e hae contaminato lo santuario mio, e hae polluto lo mio santo nome.
4 If the people of the country choose to close their eyes to the man's action when he gives a child of histo Molech, and do not put him to death,	4 E se sarà alcuno che non tenga questo comandamento, e facciane poca estimazione, e lasserà l'uomo il quale avrà dato del seme suo a Moloc, e non l'avrà voluto uccidere,
5 I myself shal turn my face against that man and his clan. I shal outlaw them from their people, bothhim and all those after him who prostitute themselves by fol owing Molech.	5 io porrò la mia faccia contra lui e contra lo suo parentado, (e leverollo) e taglierollo, e tutti quelli che consentirono a lui ch' ei commettesse idolatria con Moloc, del mezzo del popolo suo.
6 "If anyone has recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians, to prostitute himself by followingthem, I shal set my face against him and outlaw him from his people.	6 L'uomo che anderae ad indovini e a maghi, e farà con loro malie, io porrò la mia faccia contro di lui, e ucciderollo (nel luogo, cioè) nel mezzo del popolo suo.
7 "Sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am Yahweh your God.	7 Vivete santamente e siate santi, perciò ch' io sono (santo, dice) Iddio.
8 "You wil keep my laws and put them into practice, for it is I, Yahweh, who make you holy.	8 Osservate i miei comandamenti, e fategli; e io sono Iddio, che vi santificherò.
9 Hence: "Anyone who curses father or mother wil be put to death. Having cursed father or mother, theblood wil be on that person's own head.	9 Chi maledirà lo padre o la madre sua, sia morto. E chi maledirà lo padre e la madre, il sangue suo sarà sopra di lui.
10 "The man who commits adultery with his neighbour's wife wil be put to death, he and the woman.	10 E chi giacerà colla moglie d'altrui, e commetterà adulterio colla moglie del prossimo suo, muoia di morte lo adultero e la adultera.
11 "The man who has intercourse with his father's wife has infringed his father's sexual prerogative. Bothof them wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	11 E chi dormirà colla matrigna sua, e rivelerà la vergogna del padre suo, muoiano di morte amendue; e lo sangue suo sia sopra di loro.
12 "The man who has intercourse with his daughter-in-law: both of them wil be put to death; they haveviolated nature, their blood wil be on their own heads.	12 E se alcuno dormirà colla nuora sua, muo iano amendue; perciò che hanno commesso grande scelerazione. E lo sangue suo sia sopra di loro.
13 "The man who has intercourse with a man in the same way as with a woman: they have done ahateful thing together; they wil be put to death; their blood wil be on their own heads.	13 Chi dormirà con mascolo in coito femineo, tutti due hanno fatto uno grande peccato, e amen due muoiano; e lo sangue suo sia sopra loro.
14 "The man who marries a woman and her mother: this is incest. They wil be burnt alive, he and they;you wil not tolerate incest.	14 E (chi sarà colui il quale) condurrà la figliuola sopra la moglie sua madre, ha fatto grande scele rità; vivo arderà con loro, e non rimanga tanto peccato nel mezzo di voi.
15 "The man who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death; you wil kil the animal too.	15 E chi si congiungerà con bestia si mora; e la bestia sia morta.
16 "The woman who approaches any animal to have intercourse with it: you will kil the woman and theanimal. They wil be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.	16 E la femina che si congiugnerà con bestia sia morta colla bestia; e lo sangue suo sia sopra di lei.
17 "The man who marries his father's or his mother's daughter: if they have intercourse together, this isan outrage. They wil be executed in public, for the man has had intercourse with his sister; he wil bear theconsequences of his guilt.	17 E chi userà colla sorella, figliuola del padre suo o della madre sua, e vederà la sua vergogna, ed essa considererà la ignominia del fratello, hanno operati una sceleste cosa; siano morti amendue nel mezzo del popolo suo, però ch' hanno amendue fatto cosa scelerata; e porteranno la loro iniquità.
18 "The man who has intercourse with a woman during her monthly periods and exposes hernakedness: he has laid bare the source of her blood, and she has exposed the source of her blood, and both ofthem wil be outlawed from their people.	18 Chi si congiugnerà colla femina la quale abbia il menstruo, e rivelerà la turpitudine sua, e lei avrà aperto lo fonte del suo sangue, siano morti amendue nel mezzo del popolo suo.
19 "You will not have intercourse with your mother's sister or your father's sister. Whoever does so, hashad intercourse with a close relation; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt.	19 La turpitudine della sorella di tua madre, ovver tua amita, non discoprire. Chi questo farà, ha discoperto la ignominia della sua carne; amendue porteranno la sua iniquitade.
20 "The man who has intercourse with the wife of his paternal uncle has infringed his uncle's sexualprerogative; they wil bear the consequences of their guilt and die childless.	20 Chi giacerà con la moglie del fratello di suo padre, ovver del suo avuncolo, e rivelerà la igno minia della sua cognazione, amendue porteranno la sua iniquità; e moriranno senza figliuoli.
21 "The man who marries his brother's wife: this is pol ution; he has infringed his brother's sexualprerogative; they wil die childless.	21 Chi conducerà la moglie del suo fratello, fa una cosa illicita; rivelò la turpitudine del suo fratello; saranno senza figliuoli.
22 "You will keep al my laws, al my decisions, and put them into practice, so that the country where Iam taking you to live wil not vomit you out.	22 (E però io vi dico:) osservate le mie leggi, e li miei comandamenti servate, acciò che la terra ch' io vi darò vi riceva.
23 You wil not fol ow the laws of the nations whom I am driving out before you; they practised al thesethings, which is why I detested them.	23 Non anderete con quella gente ch' io caccerò dinnanzi a voi, perciò che loro fecero tutte queste cose le quali io vi vietai; perciò ch' io gli caccerò dinnanzi da voi.
24 As I have already told you, you wil take possession of their soil, I myself shal give you possession ofit, a country flowing with milk and honey. "Since I, Yahweh your God, have set you apart from these peoples,	24 E perciò parlo a voi: possedete la terra loro, la quale io vi darò in eredità, che germinerà latte e miele. Io sono lo vostro Iddio, il quale v'ha separati dalli altri popoli.
25 you for your part wil make a distinction between clean animals and unclean ones and betweenunclean birds and clean ones, and wil not make yourselves detestable with any animal or bird or reptile, which Ihave set apart from you as unclean.	25 Separate dunque voi lo animal mondo e l'uccello mondo dallo immondo, e non deturpate l'anime vostre nelle pecore e negli uccelli e in tutte le cose che si muovono sopra la terra, e che io vi mostrai esser immonde.
26 "Be consecrated to me, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I shall set you apart from all these peoples, foryou to be mine.	26 (Se voi osserverete queste cose), mi sarete santi; però ch' io son santo Signore, e sì vi separai dagli altri popoli, acciò che voi siate miei.
27 "Any man or woman of yours who is a necromancer or magician will be put to death; they wil bestoned to death; their blood wil be on their own heads." '	27 L'uomo ovver la femina, ne' quali sarà spirito di indovinamento, siano morti; e siano lapidati, e lo sangue loro sia sopra essi.
