Isaiah 54

NEW JERUSALEM	LXX
1 Shout for joy, barren one who has borne no children! Break into cries and shouts of joy, you who werenever in labour! For the children of the forsaken one are more in number than the children of the wedded wife,says Yahweh.	1 ευφρανθητι στειρα η ου τικτουσα ρηξον και βοησον η ουκ ωδινουσα οτι πολλα τα τεκνα της ερημου μαλλον η της εχουσης τον ανδρα ειπεν γαρ κυριος
2 Widen the space of your tent, extend the curtains of your home, do not hold back! Lengthen your ropes,make your tent-pegs firm,	2 πλατυνον τον τοπον της σκηνης σου και των αυλαιων σου πηξον μη φειση μακρυνον τα σχοινισματα σου και τους πασσαλους σου κατισχυσον
3 for you wil burst out to right and to left, your race wil dispossess the nations and repopulate desertedtowns.	3 ετι εις τα δεξια και εις τα αριστερα εκπετασον και το σπερμα σου εθνη κληρονομησει και πολεις ηρημωμενας κατοικιεις
4 Do not fear, you wil not be put to shame again, do not worry, you will not be disgraced again; for youwil forget the shame of your youth and no longer remember the dishonour of your widowhood.	4 μη φοβου οτι κατησχυνθης μηδε εντραπης οτι ωνειδισθης οτι αισχυνην αιωνιον επιληση και ονειδος της χηρειας σου ου μη μνησθηση
5 For your Creator is your husband, Yahweh Sabaoth is his name, the Holy One of Israel is yourredeemer, he is cal ed God of the whole world.	5 οτι κυριος ο ποιων σε κυριος σαβαωθ ονομα αυτω και ο ρυσαμενος σε αυτος θεος ισραηλ παση τη γη κληθησεται
6 Yes, Yahweh has cal ed you back like a forsaken, grief-stricken wife, like the repudiated wife of hisyouth, says your God.	6 ουχ ως γυναικα καταλελειμμενην και ολιγοψυχον κεκληκεν σε κυριος ουδ' ως γυναικα εκ νεοτητος μεμισημενην ειπεν ο θεος σου
7 I did forsake you for a brief moment, but in great compassion I shal take you back.	7 χρονον μικρον κατελιπον σε και μετα ελεους μεγαλου ελεησω σε
8 In a flood of anger, for a moment I hid my face from you. But in everlasting love I have taken pity onyou, says Yahweh, your redeemer.	8 εν θυμω μικρω απεστρεψα το προσωπον μου απο σου και εν ελεει αιωνιω ελεησω σε ειπεν ο ρυσαμενος σε κυριος
9 For me it wil be as in the days of Noah when I swore that Noah's waters should never flood the worldagain. So now I swear never to be angry with you and never to rebuke you again.	9 απο του υδατος του επι νωε τουτο μοι εστιν καθοτι ωμοσα αυτω εν τω χρονω εκεινω τη γη μη θυμωθησεσθαι επι σοι ετι μηδε εν απειλη σου
10 For the mountains may go away and the hil s may totter, but my faithful love wil never leave you, mycovenant of peace will never totter, says Yahweh who takes pity on you.	10 τα ορη μεταστησεσθαι ουδε οι βουνοι σου μετακινηθησονται ουτως ουδε το παρ' εμου σοι ελεος εκλειψει ουδε η διαθηκη της ειρηνης σου ου μη μεταστη ειπεν γαρ κυριος ιλεως σοι
11 Unhappy creature, storm-tossed, unpitied, look, I shal lay your stones on agates and your foundationson sapphires.	11 ταπεινη και ακαταστατος ου παρεκληθης ιδου εγω ετοιμαζω σοι ανθρακα τον λιθον σου και τα θεμελια σου σαπφειρον
12 I shal make your battlements rubies, your gateways firestone and your entire wal precious stones.	12 και θησω τας επαλξεις σου ιασπιν και τας πυλας σου λιθους κρυσταλλου και τον περιβολον σου λιθους εκλεκτους
13 Al your children wil be taught by Yahweh and great wil be your children's prosperity.	13 και παντας τους υιους σου διδακτους θεου και εν πολλη ειρηνη τα τεκνα σου
14 In saving justice you will be made firm, free from oppression: you will have nothing to fear; free fromterror: it wil not approach you.	14 και εν δικαιοσυνη οικοδομηθηση απεχου απο αδικου και ου φοβηθηση και τρομος ουκ εγγιει σοι
15 Should anyone attack you, that wil not be my doing, and whoever does attack you, for your sake willfal .	15 ιδου προσηλυτοι προσελευσονται σοι δι' εμου και επι σε καταφευξονται
16 I created the smith who blows on the charcoal-fire to produce a weapon for his use; I also created thedestroyer to ruin it.	16 ιδου εγω κτιζω σε ουχ ως χαλκευς φυσων ανθρακας και εκφερων σκευος εις εργον εγω δε εκτισα σε ουκ εις απωλειαν φθειραι
17 No weapon forged against you wil succeed. Any voice raised against you in court you will refute.Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, the saving justice I assure them, declares Yahweh.	17 παν σκευος φθαρτον επι σε ουκ ευοδωσω και πασα φωνη αναστησεται επι σε εις κρισιν παντας αυτους ηττησεις οι δε ενοχοι σου εσονται εν αυτη εστιν κληρονομια τοις θεραπευουσιν κυριον και υμεις εσεσθε μοι δικαιοι λεγει κυριος
