Isaiah 33

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Woe to you, destroying though not yourself destroyed, betraying though not yourself betrayed; whenyou have finished destroying, you wil be destroyed, when you have stopped betraying, you wil be betrayed.	1 Guai a te che fai preda; or tu medesimo non sarai rubato? E tu che dileggi, non sarai tu dileggiato? E quando tu averai consumato la preda, sarai rubato; e affaticato lasarai di disprezzare, e sarai disprezzato.
2 Yahweh, show us your mercy, we hope in you. Be our arm every morning and our salvation in time ofdistress.	2 O Signore, abbi misericordia di noi, però che noi abbiamo aspettato te; sia tu nostro braccio la mattina, e nostra salute nel tempo della tribulazione.
3 At the sound of tumult the peoples flee, when you stand up the nations scatter.	3 Li populi fuggirono dalla voce delli angeli; e dallo tuo esaltamento le genti sono disperse.
4 Your spoil is gathered in as a grasshopper gathers in, like a swarm of locusts people descend on it.	4 E li vostri vestimenti saranno ricolti come si ricoglie lo bruco, quasi come le fosse ne fussono ripiene di lui.
5 Yahweh is exalted, for he is enthroned above, he has fil ed Zion with fair judgement and saving justice.	5 Lo Signore è magnificato, però ch' egli abitoe nella parte alta; e riempiè Sion di giudicio e di giustizia.
6 You can count on this al your days: wisdom and knowledge are the riches that save, the fear ofYahweh is his treasure.	6 E nelli suoi tempi sarà la fede; e le ricchezze della (sua) salute saranno la scienza no; e lo tesoro sarà lo timore di Dio.
7 Look, Ariel is lamenting in the streets, the ambassadors of peace are weeping bitterly.	7 Ed ecco quelli che vederanno questo, grideranno di fuori; e li angeli della pace piagneranno amaramente.
8 The highways are deserted, no travel ers any more on the roads. Agreements are broken, witnessesheld in contempt, there is respect for no one.	8 Le vie sono dissipate (e disfatte); lo passante sì cessò di passare per la strada, e lo patto è ritornato a dietro; scacciò via le cittadi, e per niente riputò li uomini.
9 The land pines away in mourning, the Lebanon is withering with shame, Sharon has become like thewasteland, Bashan and Carmel are shuddering.	9 La terra pianse ed ebbe languore in sè; lo Libano fu confuso, e divenne sordo; e Saron diventò come uno deserto, e Basan e Carmelo (cioè quello monte) furono commossi. (Saron si fu una provincia, che è tra Open e Lida, dove erano molti belli campi, abbondevoli e larghi).
10 'Now I shal stand up,' says Yahweh, 'now I shal rise, now draw myself up.	10 Ora io mi leverò, dice lo Signore; ora sard esaltato, ora sarò sollevato.
11 You conceive chaff, you give birth to straw: like fire, my breath wil devour you.	11 Voi concepirete l' ardore, e partorirete la esca (dal fuoco); lo vostro spirito divorerà voi, come fusse fuoco.
12 The peoples will be burnt up as though by quicklime, like cut thorns they wil be burnt on the fire.	12 E li populi saranno come cenere d' arsura; e le spine radunate al fuoco arderanno.
13 You who are far away, listen to what I have done, and you who are near, realise my strength.'	13 Udite, voi che siete dalla lunga, quelle cose le quali io ho fatte; e voi, vicini, conoscete la mia fortezza.
14 The sinners in Zion are panic-stricken and fear seizes on the godless, 'Which of us can survive thedevouring fire, which of us survive everlasting burning?'	14 Li peccatori sono spezzati e rotti in Sion, lo tremore hae posseduto (e ispauriti) li ipocriti. Quale è di voi che possi abitare col fuoco divorante? Quale di voi abiterà colli ardori sempiterni?
15 The one who acts uprightly and speaks honestly, who scorns to get rich by extortion, who rejectsbribes out of hand, who refuses to listen to plans involving bloodshed and shuts his eyes rather thancountenance crime:	15 Colui il quale va nelle giustizie, e parla la verità; il quale getta la avarizia e la calunnia, e scote le sue mani da ogni dono; il quale ottura le sue orecchie acciò ch' egli non dia opera di sangue, chiude li suoi occhi acciò ch' egli non veggia lo male;
16 such a man wil live on the heights, the craggy rocks wil be his refuge, he wil be fed, he wil not wantfor water.	16 questo abiterà nelli luoghi alti, e la sua altezza sarà armadura di sassi; lo pane è dato a lui, e le sue acque sono fedeli.
17 Your eyes will gaze on the king in his beauty, they wil look on a country stretching far and wide.	17 Vedranno lo re (cioè lo signore) nella sua bellezza li suoi occhi; riguarderanno la terra di lungi.
18 Your heart wil meditate on past terrors, 'Where is the man who did the counting? Where is the manwho did the weighing? Where is the man who counted off the towers?'	18 E lo tuo cuore penserà nella paura: dov'è lo letterato? dov'è quello che (pensa, ovvero) pesa (cioè giudica) le parole della legge? dove sono li ammaestratori de' piccoli?
19 No more wil you see that insolent people, that people of unintel igible speech, of barbarous andmeaningless tongue.	19 Tu non vederai lo populo imprudente, lo populo di alto parlare; sì che tu non possi intendere le disputazioni della sua lingua, nello quale (cioè in quello populo) non è alcuna sapienza.
20 Gaze at Zion, city of our feasts; your eyes wil see Jerusalem as a home that is secure, a tent not tobe moved, none of its tent-pegs ever to be pul ed out, none of its guy-ropes ever to be broken.	20 Riguarda tu Sion, la cittade della nostra solennitade; li tuoi occhi vederanno Ierusalem, cittade ricca, lo tabernacolo lo quale non si potrà transportare; e li suoi chiavelli non si torranno via in sempiterno, e tutti li suoi funicelli non si romperanno.
21 There it is that Yahweh shows us his power, like a place of rivers and very wide canals on which willrow no galley, over which wil pass no majestic ship.	21 Però che solo quivi fue magnificato lo Signore Iddio nostro; lo luogo de' fiumi, rivi larghissimi e manifesti a tutti; la nave delli rematori non entrò per quello, nè la nave che abbia tre ordini di remi, che sia grande, non passerà per quello luogo.
22 (For Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh our lawgiver, Yahweh is our king and our Saviour.)	22 Però che lo Signore è nostro giudice, e lo Signore è nostro legista; e lo nostro Signore (verrà) salverà noi.
23 Your tackle has given way, it cannot support the mast, it cannot hoist the pennon. And so there ismuch booty to be shared out; the lame fal to plundering,	23 Li tuoi funicelli sono discorsi, ma non soperchiorono, (e poi dice): l' arboro tuo sarà così, che tu non potrai scampare lo segno. Allora si divideranno li spogliamenti di molti rubamenti, e li zoppi ruberanno la rapina.
24 and no one living there wil say, 'I am sickly'; the people living there wil find their guilt forgiven.	24 E lo vicino non dirà: io mi languii; e lo populo che abiterà in lei, sarà tolta da lui la malvagitade.
