Psalms 25

1 [Of David] ADORATION I offer, Yahweh,	1 Of David. I wait for you, O LORD; I lift up my soul
2 to you, my God. BUT in my trust in you do not put me to shame, let not my enemies gloat over me.	2 to my God. In you I trust; do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me.
3 CALLING to you, none shal ever be put to shame, but shame is theirs who groundlessly break faith.	3 No one is disgraced who waits for you, but only those who lightly break faith.
4 DIRECT me in your ways, Yahweh, and teach me your paths.	4 Make known to me your ways, LORD; teach me your paths.
5 ENCOURAGE me to walk in your truth and teach me since you are the God who saves me. FOR myhope is in you all day long -- such is your generosity, Yahweh.	5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of your goodness, LORD.
6 GOODNESS and faithful love have been yours for ever, Yahweh, do not forget them.	6 Remember your compassion and love, O LORD; for they are ages old.
7 HOLD not my youthful sins against me, but remember me as your faithful love dictates.	7 Remember no more the sins of my youth; remember me only in light of your love.
8 INTEGRITY and generosity are marks of Yahweh for he brings sinners back to the path.	8 Good and upright is the LORD, who shows sinners the way,
9 JUDICIOUSLY he guides the humble, instructing the poor in his way.	9 Guides the humble rightly, and teaches the humble the way.
10 KINDNESS unfailing and constancy mark al Yahweh's paths, for those who keep his covenant andhis decrees.	10 All the paths of the LORD are faithful love toward those who honor the covenant demands.
11 LET my sin, great though it is, be forgiven, Yahweh, for the sake of your name.	11 For the sake of your name, LORD, pardon my guilt, though it is great.
12 MEN who respect Yahweh, what of them? He teaches them the way they must choose.	12 Who are those who fear the LORD? God shows them the way to choose.
13 NEIGHBOURS to happiness wil they live, and their children inherit the land.	13 They live well and prosper, and their descendants inherit the land.
14 ONLY those who fear Yahweh have his secret and his covenant, for their understanding.	14 The counsel of the LORD belongs to the faithful; the covenant instructs them.
15 PERMANENTLY my eyes are on Yahweh, for he will free my feet from the snare.	15 My eyes are ever upon the LORD, who frees my feet from the snare.
16 QUICK, turn to me, pity me, alone and wretched as I am!	16 Look upon me, have pity on me, for I am alone and afflicted.
17 RELIEVE the distress of my heart, bring me out of my constraint.	17 Relieve the troubles of my heart; bring me out of my distress.
18 SPARE a glance for my misery and pain, take al my sins away.	18 Put an end to my affliction and suffering; take away all my sins.
19 TAKE note how countless are my enemies, how violent their hatred for me.	19 See how many are my enemies, see how fiercely they hate me.
20 UNLESS you guard me and rescue me I shall be put to shame, for you are my refuge.	20 Preserve my life and rescue me; do not let me be disgraced, for I trust in you.
21 VIRTUE and integrity be my protection, for my hope, Yahweh, is in you.	21 Let honesty and virtue preserve me; I wait for you, O LORD.
22 Ransom Israel, O God, from al its troubles.	22 Redeem Israel, God, from all its distress!
