15 I assembled them near the canal which runs to Ahava, where we camped for three days. 21 There, beside the Ahava Canal, I then proclaimed a fast, to humble ourselves before our God and topray to him for a successful journey for us, our dependants and all our belongings.	21 Majd böjtöt hirdettem ott az Aháva folyó mellett, hogy megsanyargassuk magunkat az Úr, a mi Istenünk előtt és szerencsés utat esdjünk le magunknak, fiainknak és mindennemű jószágunknak.
22 For I should have been ashamed to ask the king for a company of cavalry to protect us from hostilepeople on our road, as we had already said to the king, 'The hand of our God is over al who seek him for theirprotection, but his mighty retribution befal s al those who forsake him.'	22 Restelltem ugyanis segítséget és lovasokat kérni a királytól, hogy megvédjenek minket az úton az ellenséggel szemben, hiszen azt mondtuk a királynak: »Istenünk keze nyugszik mindazokon, akik jóban hozzá fordulnak, de ereje, hatalma és haragja nehezedik mindazokra, akik elfordulnak tőle.«
23 So we fasted and pleaded with our God about this, and he heard us.	23 Ezért böjtöltünk és könyörögtünk Istenünkhöz. Szerencsésen is jártunk.
24 I next chose twelve of the leading priests, and also Sherebiah and Hashabiah with ten of their kinsmen.	24 Majd kiválasztottam tizenkettőt a papi fejedelmek közül: Sarábját, Hásabját meg tíz testvérüket

27 twenty golden bowls valued at a thousand darics and two utensils of fine burnished copper as preciousas gold.	27 húsz aranyserleget, körülbelül ezer dáriusz értékben, és a legfinomabb csillogó rézből való két edényt, amely oly szép volt, mintha aranyból lett volna.
28 I said to them, 'You are consecrated to Yahweh; these utensils are consecrated too; the silver and gold are a voluntary offering to Yahweh, God of your ancestors.	28 Majd így szóltam hozzájuk: »Ti az Úr szentjei vagytok, és szentek az edények, az ezüst meg az arany is, amelyet önkéntes adományul ajánlottak fel az Úrnak, atyáink Istenének.
29 Guard them carefully until you weigh them out to the leading priests, the Levites, and the heads offamilies of Israel in Jerusalem in the rooms of the Temple of Yahweh.'	29 Vigyázzatok tehát és őrizzétek meg, amíg csak oda nem méritek az Úr házának kincstára számára, a papok és a leviták fejedelmei, meg az izraelita családfők elé Jeruzsálemben.«
30 The priests and Levites then took charge of the silver, the gold and the utensils thus weighed, to bringthem to Jerusalem to the Temple of our God.	30 Erre átvették a papok és a leviták a megmért ezüstöt, aranyat és az edényeket, hogy elszállítsák Jeruzsálembe, a mi Istenünk templomába.
31 On the twelfth day of the first month we left the Ahava Canal to make our way to Jerusalem; the handof our God was over us and protected us from enemies and surprise attacks on our way.	31 Elindultunk az Aháva folyó mellől az első hónap tizenkettedik napján, hogy Jeruzsálembe vándoroljunk. 33 On the fourth day the silver, the gold and the utensils were weighed in the Temple of our God andhanded over to the priest Meremoth son of Uriah and, with him, Eleazar son of Phinehas; with them were theLevites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.	33 a negyedik napon odamértük Istenünk templomában az ezüstöt, az aranyat és az edényeket Meremót, Uriás pap fiának kezéhez Eleazár, Fineesz fia, Jozabád, Józsue fia és Noadája, Binnuj fia, leviták jelenlétében,

35 When the exiles arrived from their captivity, they offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel -- twelvebulls on behalf of all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-two lambs, and as a sin offering twelve he-goats: the wholeof this as a burnt offering to Yahweh.	35 A fogságból visszatért száműzöttek ekkor Izrael egész népéért Izrael Istenének egészen elégő áldozatul bemutattak tizenkét bikaborjút, kilencvenhat kost, hetvenhét bárányt, bűnért való áldozatul pedig tizenkét kecskebakot, egytől-egyig egészen elégő áldozatul az Úrnak.
36 They also delivered the king's instructions to the king's satraps and the governors of Transeuphrates,who then supported the people and the Temple of God.	36 Majd átnyújtották a királyi szatrapáknak és a folyamon túl levő helytartóknak a király rendeletét, erre azok pártfogásba vették a népet és az Isten házát.
