1 The prophet Elisha summoned a member of the prophetic brotherhood to him, 'Hitch up your clothes,take this flask of oil, and go to Ramoth in Gilead.	1 Eliseo profeta chiamò uno de' figliuoli dei profeti, e disse: cingi i tuoi lombi, e togli questo vasello dell' olio nella mano tua, e vattene in Ramot di Galaad.
2 When you arrive there, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Then, when you find him, telhim to get up and leave his companions, and take him into an inner room.	2 E venuto te ivi, vederai Ieu figliuolo di Iosafat figliuolo di Namsi; e entrato te dentro, chiamera?lo del mezzo de' suoi fratelli, e menera'lo nella camera dentro.
3 Take the flask of oil then and pour it over his head, and say, "Yahweh says this: I have anointed youking of Israel." Then open the door and flee as fast as you can.'	3 E tenendo questo vasello dell' olio (nella mano tua) ispargilo sopra il suo capo, e dirai: questo dice il Signore, ch' io t'ho unto re sopra Israel. E aperto l' uscio, fuggirai, e non vi stare ivi.
4 The young man left for Ramoth in Gilead	4 E andò il giovane [figliuolo del] profeta in Ramot di Galaad.
5 and when he arrived, found the senior officers of the army sitting together. 'I have a message for you,commander,' he said. 'For which of us?' asked Jehu. 'For you, commander,' he answered.	5 Ed entrò (nel mezzo de' suoi fratelli); e i prìncipi dello esercito sedeano, e disse: o principe, io ho alcuna parola a dirti. E disse Ieu: a quale di tutti noi? E quegli disse: a te, o principe.
6 Jehu then got up and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying,'Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "I have anointed you king of Yahweh's people, of Israel.	6 E levossi suso, ed entrò nella camera; e quegli isparse l'olio sopra il capo suo, e disse: questo dice il Signore Iddio d' Israel: io t'ho unto re sopra il popolo del Signore d'Israel.
7 You wil strike down the family of Ahab your master, and I shal avenge the blood of my servants theprophets and al of Yahweh's servants, on Jezebel	7 E percoterai la casa del tuo signore Acab, acciò ch' io faccia vendetta del sangue de' miei servi profeti, e del sangue di tutti i servi del Signore delle mani di Iezabel.
8 and on the whole family of Ahab. I shal destroy every manjack of Ahab's family, fettered or free in Israel.	8 E disfaccia tutta la casa di Acab (e ucciderò della casa di Acab) quello che piscia al muro, e quello che è reserrato e ultimo in Israel.
9 I shal make the House of Ahab like the House of Jeroboam son of Nebat and of Baasha son of Ahijah.	9 E la casa di Acab darò, come la casa di Ieroboam figliuolo di Nabat, e come la casa di Baasa figliuolo di Aia.
10 As for Jezebel, the dogs wil eat her in the field of Jezreel; no one wil bury her." ' With this, he openedthe door and made his escape.	10 E lezabel manicheranno i cani nel campo di Iezrael, e non sarà chi la seppellisca. E aperse l'uscio, e fuggio.
11 Jehu came out to his master's officers. 'Is al wel ?' they asked him. 'Why did this madman come toyou?' 'You know the fel ow and how he talks,' he answered.	11 E leu uscì fuori a' servi del suo signore, li quali dissero sono tutte le cose diritte? perchè venne a te questo istolto? Il quale respuose loro: voi conoscete l'uomo, e quello che ha detto.
12 'Evasion!' they cried, 'Come on, tell us.' He replied, 'He said this and that to me. He said, "Yahweh saysthis: I have anointed you king of Israel." '	12 Li quali respuoseno: egli è falso, ma declara a noi più. Il quale disse: questo e questo m' ha lui detto, e disse: questo dice il Signore: io t'ho unto re sopra Israel.
13 Whereupon they all took their cloaks and spread them under him on the bare steps; they sounded thetrumpet and shouted, 'Jehu is king!'	13 E di fretta ciascuno tolse il suo mantello, e puosergli sotto i piedi a modo d' una sedia, e sonorono la tromba, e dissero: regnarà Ieu.
14 Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi plotted against Jehoram. (At the time, Jehoram, with al Israel,was holding Ramoth in Gilead against an attack by Hazael king of Aram,	14 Onde che Ieu figliuolo di Iosafat figliuolo di Namsi fece congiurazione contro a Ioram. E Ioram assediava Ramot di Galaad, egli e tutto Israel, contra Azael re di Siria.
15 but King Jehoram had gone back to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received fromthe Aramaeans while he was fighting against Hazael king of Aram.) 'If you agree,' Jehu said, 'let no one leavethe town to go and take the news to Jezreel.'	15 Ed era ritornato a farsi medicare in Iezrael per le ferite, però che i Sirii l'aveano ferito combattendo contro Azael re di Siria. E disse Ieu: se vi piace, niuno esca della città, acciò che non vada a significarlo in Iezrael.
16 Jehu then mounted his chariot and left for Jezreel; Jehoram had taken to his bed there, and Ahaziahking of Judah had gone down to visit him.	16 E andò in lezrael; e Ioram era ivi infermo, e Ocozia re di Giuda era andato a visitare Ioram.
17 The lookout posted on the tower of Jezreel saw Jehu's troop approaching. 'I can see a body of men,'he shouted. Jehoram gave the order: 'Have a horseman sent to meet them and ask, "Is al wel ?" '	17 E la guardia, che era in su la torre (della porta) di Iezrael, vidde il truppello di Ieu, il quale veniva, e disse: io veggio uno truppello. E Ioram disse togli uno carro, e mandalo incontro a loro, e dica colui che va: sono tutte le cose diritte?
18 The horseman went to meet Jehu and said, 'The king says, "Is al wel ?" ' 'What has it to do with youwhether all is well?' Jehu replied. 'Fal in behind me.' The lookout reported, 'The messenger has reached themand is not coming back.'	18 E quegli che montò nello carro andò loro incontro, e disse: questo dice il re: sono tutte le cose in pace? E Ieu disse: ch' è a te, e alla pace? passa, e sèguitami. E la guardia significò, dicendo: il messaggio sì è venuto insino a loro, e non torna.
19 The king sent a second horseman who reached them and said, 'The king says, "Is al wel ?" ' 'What hasit to do with you whether al is wel ?' Jehu replied. 'Fall in behind me.'	19 E mandò anche l'altro carro de' cavalli; e giunse a loro, e disse: questo dice il re: è egli pace? E Ieu disse: ch' è a te [e al] la pace? Passa oltre, e sèguitami.
20 The lookout reported, 'He has reached them and is not coming back. The manner of driving is like thatof Jehu son of Nimshi: he drives like a madman.'	20 E la guardia disse: egli è venuto insino a loro, e non ritorna; e l' andare è come l'andare di Ieu figliuolo di Namsi, e viene molto ratto.
21 'Harness!' Jehoram cried; and they harnessed his chariot. Then Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziahking of Judah, each in his chariot, set out to meet Jehu. They reached him in the field of Naboth of Jezreel.	21 E Ioram disse: giugnete il carro. E giunsero il carro suo; e uscìo Ioram re d' Israel, e Ocozia re di Giuda, ciascuno nel suo carro; e uscirono incontro a Ieu, e trovaronlo nel campo di Nabot di Iezrael.
22 As soon as Jehoram saw Jehu he asked, 'Is al wel , Jehu?' 'What a question!' he replied, 'when al thewhile the prostitutions and countless sorceries of your mother Jezebel go on.'	22 E veggendo Ioram Ieu, disse: è pace, Ieu? E quegli respuose: che pace? le fornicazioni della tua madre Iezabel, e le pessime cose, anche sono molte.
23 At this, Jehoram wheeled and fled, saying to Ahaziah, 'Treason, Ahaziah!'	23 E volse la mano sua Ioram, e fuggendo disse a Ocozia: Ocozia, questo è agguato.
24 But Jehu had drawn his bow; he struck Jehoram between the shoulder-blades, the arrow went throughthe king's heart, and he sank down in his chariot.	24 E Ieu tendè l' arco colla mano, e ferì Ioram tra le spalle; e passogli la saetta per lo cuore, e cadde incontanente nel carro suo.
25 'Pick him up,' Jehu said to Bidkar, his equerry, 'and throw him into the field of Naboth of Jezreel.Remember how, when you and I manned a chariot together behind Ahab his father, Yahweh pronounced thissentence against him,	25 E disse Ieu a Badacer capitano: togli, e gettalo nel campo di Nabot di Iezrael; io mi ricordo che quando io e tu, sedendo nel carro, seguitavamo Acab padre di costui, che il Signore questo carco levò sopra sè, dicendo:
26 "This I swear. Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons -- Yahweh says this. Andin this same field I shall requite you -- Yahweh says this." So pick him up, and throw him into the field, asYahweh declared should happen!'	26 Per il sangue di Nabot, e degli suoi figliuoli, il qual vidi ieri, dice Iddio, sì io ti renderò in questo campo. Adunque tollo, e buttalo in questo campo, secondo la parola di Dio.
27 When Ahaziah king of Judah saw this, he fled along the Beth-ha-Gan road, but Jehu went in pursuit ofhim. 'Strike him down too,' he said. And they wounded him in his chariot at the slope of Gur, which is nearIbleam, and he took refuge in Megiddo, where he died.	27 E Ocozia re di Giuda, veggendo questo, fuggì per la via della casa dell' orto; e Ieu il seguitò, e disse: e anche costui uccidete nel carro suo. E ferironlo nel montare di Gaver, il quale è presso a Ieblaam; il quale fuggì in Mageddo, e ivi morìo.
28 His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb in the City of David.	28 E i servi suoi il puosero in sul carro suo, e portaronlo in Ierusalem; e seppellironlo nel sepolcro colli padri suoi nella città di David.
29 Ahaziah had become king of Judah in the eleventh year of Jehoram son of Ahab.	29 Nelli XI anni di Ioram, figliuolo di Acab (re d'Israel) Ocozia regnava sopra Giuda,
30 When Jehu went back to Jezreel, Jezebel was told. She made up her eyes with mascara, adorned herhead and appeared at the window.	30 quando Ieu venne in Iezrael. E Iezabel, udita la sua entrata, dipinse il viso suo di liscio, e ornò il capo suo, e guardò per la finestra
31 As Jehu came through the gateway she said, 'How did Zimri get on after kil ing his master?'	31 Ieu nell' entrare della porta, e disse: come puote egli essere pace a Zambri, il quale ha morto il signore suo?
32 Jehu looked up to the window and said, 'Who is on my side? Who?' And two or three officials lookeddown at him.	32 E leu levò il viso suo alla finestra, e disse: chi è questa? E chinaronsi a lui due o vero tre eunuchi (e dissero: questa è Iezabel).
33 'Throw her down,' he said. They threw her down and her blood spattered the wal s and the horses; andJehu rode over her.	33 Ed egli disse loro: gittatela di sotto. E gittaronla; e fu bagnato il muro del suo sangue, e l' unghie de' cavalli (che) la scalpitarono.
34 He went in and ate and drank, then said, 'See to this accursed woman, and give her burial; after al ,she was a king's daughter.'	34 Ed entrato lui a mangiare e a bevere, disse: andate, e vedete quella maledetta; e sotterratela, però ch' ella è figliuola del re.
35 But when they went to bury her, they found nothing but her skul , feet and hands.	35 E andati loro per sotterrarla, non trovarono che il teschio e i piedi e le sommità delle mani.
36 They came back and told Jehu, who said, 'This is the word of Yahweh which he spoke through hisservant Elijah the Tishbite, "The dogs wil eat the flesh of Jezebel in the field of Jezreel;	36 E ritornati nunciarono a lui. E disse Ieu: questa è la parola di Dio, la quale disse per lo suo servo Elia Tesbite, dicendo: nel campo di Iezrael mangeranno i cani le carni di Iezabel.
37 the corpse of Jezebel wil be like dung spread on the fields, so that no one wil be able to say: This wasJezebel." '	37 E saranno le carni di Iezabel, come lo sterco sopra la terra, nel campo di Iezrael; sì che quelli che passeranno, diranno: e questa è quella Iezabel?
