Ezekiel 35

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:
2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it.	2 filho do homem, volta-te para o lado da montanha de Seir, e profetiza contra ela;
3 Say to it: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Mount Seir. I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.	3 Dize-lhe: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: é contra ti que venho, monte de Seir; eu vou levantar a mão contra ti. Farei de ti um deserto e uma solidão;
4 Your cities I will turn into ruins, and you shall be a waste; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.	4 reduzirei as tuas cidades a ruínas, a fim de que saibas que sou eu o Senhor.
5 Because you never let die your hatred for the Israelites, whom you delivered over to the power of the sword at the time of their trouble, when their crimes came to an end,	5 Já que tens nutrido ódio eterno pelos israelitas, e os entregaste ao fio da espada no dia de sua aflição, e ao termo da sua iniqüidade,
6 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, you have been guilty of blood, and blood, I swear, shall pursue you.	6 pois bem: por minha vida - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, eu te entregarei ao sangue, e o sangue há de perseguir-te; porquanto não te horrorizes em derramar sangue, o sangue há de perseguir-te.
7 I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste, and cut off from it any traveler.	7 Farei da montanha de Seir um deserto e uma solidão, e suprimirei da terra todos os transeuntes.
8 With the slain I will fill your hills, your valleys, and all your ravines (in them the slain shall fall by the sword):	8 Cobrirei tuas montanhas de cadáveres: sobre teus outeiros, teus vales e tuas torrentes tombarão aqueles a quem corta o gládio.
9 desolate will I make you forever, and leave your cities without inhabitants; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.	9 Reduzir-te-ei a solidões eternas; tuas cidades serão despovoadas. Assim saberás tu que eu é que sou o Senhor.
10 Because you said: The two nations and the two lands have become mine; we shall possess them--although the LORD was there--	10 Já que disseste: as duas nações, os dois países serão meus, e tomarei posse deles, ainda que o Senhor aí resida,
11 therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will deal with you according to your anger and your envy which you have exercised (in your hatred) against them. I will make myself known among you when I judge you,	11 pois bem: por minha vida - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, eu te tratarei com a mesma furiosa cólera com que os trataste, e far-me-ei conhecer no modo por que hei de exercer o meu julgamento contra ti.
12 and you shall know that I am the LORD. I have heard all the contemptuous things you have uttered against the mountains of Israel: "They are desolate, they have been given us to devour."	12 Saberás que eu, o Senhor, ouvi todas as blasfêmias que proferiste contra as montanhas de Israel, quando dizias: ei-las devastadas! Elas nos são dadas como pasto.
13 I have heard the insolent and wild words you have spoken against me.	13 Haveis-me afrontado com uma multidão de palavras insolentes contra mim. Eu as ouvi.
14 Thus says the Lord GOD: Just as you rejoiced over my land because it was desolate, so will I do to you.	14 Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé:
15 In keeping with your glee over the devastation of the inheritance of the house of Israel, so will I treat you. A waste shall you be, Mount Seir, you and the whole of Edom. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	15 enquanto toda a terra estiver em alegria, farei de ti uma solidão. Porque te tens alegrado com a devastação da herança da casa de Israel, eu te tratarei do mesmo modo: serás devastada, montanha de Seir, assim como toda a Iduméia. Assim reconhecerás que sou eu o Senhor.
