1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre: Thus says the Lord GOD: Because you are haughty of heart, you say, "A god am I! I occupy a godly throne in the heart of the sea!"-- And yet you are a man, and not a god, however you may think yourself like a god.	2 « Figlio dell'uomo, di' al principe di Tiro: Così parla il Signore Dio: Perchè il tuo cuore si è insuperbito, e hai detto: « Io sono un dio, e come in trono di Dio mi sono assiso in mezzo al mare », mentre tu sei un uomo e non un dio sebbene ti attribuisca un cuore come quello di Dio. —
3 Oh yes, you are wiser than Daniel, there is no secret that is beyond you.	3 Ecco tu sei più saggio di Daniele, nessun arcano ti è nascosto;
4 By your wisdom and your intelligence you have made riches for yourself; You have put gold and silver into your treasuries.	4 colla tua sapienza, colla tua prudenza ti sei fatto forte ed hai fatto entrare oro ed argento nei tuoi tesori;
5 By your great wisdom applied to your trading you have heaped up your riches; your heart has grown haughty from your riches--	5 colla grandezza della tua sapienza e col tuo commercio hai accresciuta la tua potenza e per la tua forza il tuo cuore s'è insuperbito.
6 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have thought yourself to have the mind of a god,	6 Per questo, così parla il Signore Dio: Perchè il tuo cuore s'è innalzato come il cuore di un dio,
7 Therefore I will bring against you foreigners, the most barbarous of nations. They shall draw their swords against your beauteous wisdom, they shall run them through your splendid apparel.	7 per questo, ecco che io farò venire? contro di te gli stranieri, i più forti fra i popoli, e sguaineranno le spade loro contro la bellezza della tua sapienza e contamineranno il tuo splendore.
8 They shall thrust you down to the pit, there to die a bloodied corpse, in the heart of the sea.	8 Ti uccideranno e ti getteranno per terra, e tu avrai la morte di coloro che sono uccisi in mezzo al mare.
9 Will you then say, "I am a god!" when you face your murderers? No, you are a man, not a god, handed over to those who will slay you.	9 E dirai ancora: «Io sono un dio » dinanzi a quelli ebe ti uccidono, tu che sei un uomo e non un dio, tra le mani di coloro che ti sgozzano?
10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised at the hands of foreigners, for I have spoken, says the Lord GOD.	10 Tu morrai della morte degli incirconcisi, per mano di stranieri; perchè io ho parlato — dice il Signore Dio.
11 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	11 La parola del Signore mifu indirizzata in questi termini: « Figlio dell'uomo, pronunzia una lamentazione sul re di Tiro,
12 Son of man, utter a lament over the king of Tyre, saying to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: You were stamped with the seal of perfection, of complete wisdom and perfect beauty.	12 e di' a lui: Così parla il Signore Dio: Tu, sigillo di somiglianza, pieno di sapienza e perfetto inbellezza,
13 In Eden, the garden of God, you were, and every precious stone was your covering (carnelian, topaz, and beryl, chrysolite, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, garnet, and emerald); Of gold your pendants and jewels were made, on the day you were created.	13 tu fosti nelle delizie del paradiso di Dio, coperto d'ogni specie di pietre preziose: sardio, topazio, iaspide, crisolito, onice, berillo, saffìro, carbonchio,smeraldo, e l'oro ti dava splen­dore, e i tuoi (gioielli) bucati eran già preparati nel giorno di tua creazione.
14 With the Cherub I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God, walking among the fiery stones.	14 Tu eri un cheru­bino colle ali stese per protegge­re, ed io ti posi nel santo montedi Dio, tu camminasti in mezzoa pietre fiammanti.
15 Blameless you were in your conduct from the day you were created, Until evil was found in you,	15 Eri perfet­to nelle tue vie dal giorno in cui fosti creato fino a tanto che non fu trovata in te l'iniquità.
16 the result of your far-flung trade; violence was your business, and you sinned. Then I banned you from the mountain of God; the Cherub drove you from among the fiery stones.	16 Nel moltiplicarsi del tuo traffico il tuo interno si riempì d'iniquità, e tu peccasti, ed io ti scacciai dal mon­te di Dio, e ti ho fatto perire, o cherubino protettore, di mezzo alle pietre di fuoco,
17 You became haughty of heart because of your beauty; for the sake of splendor you debased your wisdom. I cast you to the earth, so great was your guilt; I made you a spectacle in the sight of kings.	17 perchè il tuo cuore s'insuperbì nella tua magnificenza, tu perdesti la tua sapienza a causa del tuo splendore; ed io ti gettai per terra, ti esposi davanti ai re, affinchè ti mirassero.
18 Because of your guilt, your sinful trade, I have profaned your sanctuaries, And I have brought out fire from your midst which will devour you. I have reduced you to dust on the earth in the sight of all who should see you.	18 Col gran numero delle tue iniquità, colle ingiustizie del tuo commercio contaminasti il tuo santuario; io dunque farò uscire di mezzo a te un fuoco che ti divori, e ti ridurrò in cenere sulla terra davanti a tutti quelli che ti guardano.
19 Among the peoples, all who knew you stand aghast at you; You have become a horror, you shall be no more.	19 Fra le nazioni, tutti quelli che ti vedranno, per te saran presi dallo stupore: tu sei ridotto al niente e non sarai più in perpetuo ».
20 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	20 La parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:
21 Son of man, look toward Sidon, and prophesy against it:	21 « Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia tua contro Sidone, profetizza sopra di lei,
22 Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Sidon; I will be glorified in your midst. Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I inflict punishments upon it and use it to manifest my holiness.	22 e di': Così parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Sidone, io sarò glorificato in mezzo a te, e sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò compiti contro di lei i miei giudizi ed avrò mostrato la mia santità in lei.
23 Into it I will send pestilence, and blood shall flow in its streets. Within it shall fall those slain by the sword that comes against it from every side. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	23 Io le manderò la peste, e il sangue nelle sue piazze, e cadranno in mezzo a lei degli uccisi dalla spada da ogni parte, e sapranno che io sono il Signore.
24 Sidon shall no longer be a tearing thorn for the house of Israel, a brier that scratches them more than all the others about them who despise them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	24 E allora essa non sarà più per la casa d'Israele di scandalo, di amarezza, di spina dolorosa da ogni parte fra quelli che l'attorniano e la combattono, e sapranno che io sono il Signore.
25 Thus says the Lord GOD: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, then I will manifest my holiness through them in the sight of the nations. Then they shall live on their land which I gave to my servant Jacob;	25 Cosi parla il Signore Dio: Quando io avrò radunata la casa d'Israele di mezzo ai popoli tra i quali è dispersa, in lei mostrerò la mia santità davanti alle nazioni, ed essi abiteranno nella loro terra da me data a Giacobbe mio servo. 26 E vi abiteranno senza timori e fabbricherai! case e pianteranno vigne e vi abiteranno con sicurezza quando io avrò eseguiti i giudizi su tutti i loro vicini che li disprezzano e sapranno che io sono il Signore loro Dio ».
26 they shall live on it in security, building houses and planting vineyards. They shall dwell secure while I inflict punishments on all their neighbors who despised them; thus they shall know that I, the LORD, am their God.
