NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 All wisdom comes from the LORD and with him it remains forever.	1 Toda sabiduría viene del Señor, y está con él para siempre.
2 The sand of the seashore, the drops of rain, the days of eternity: who can number these?	2 ¿Quién puede contar la arena de los mares, las gotas de la lluvia y los días de la eternidad?
3 Heaven's height, earth's breadth, the depths of the abyss: who can explore these?	3 ¿Quién puede medir la altura del cielo, la extensión de la tierra, el abismo y la sabiduría?
4 Before all things else wisdom was created; and prudent understanding, from eternity.	4 Antes que todas las cosas fue creada la sabiduría y la inteligencia previsora, desde la eternidad.
5 To whom has wisdom's root been revealed? Who knows her subtleties?	5 El manantial de la sabiduría es la palabra de Dios en las alturas, y sus canales son los mandamientos eternos.
6 There is but one, wise and truly awe-inspiring, seated upon his throne:	6 ¿A quién fue revelada la raíz de la sabiduría y quién conoció sus secretos designios?
7 It is the LORD; he created her, has seen her and taken note of her.	7 ¿A quién se le manifestó la ciencia de la sabiduría y quién comprendió la diversidad de sus caminos?
8 He has poured her forth upon all his works, upon every living thing according to his bounty; he has lavished her upon his friends.	8 Sólo uno es sabio, temible en extremo: el Señor, que está sentado en su trono.
9 Fear of the LORD is glory and splendor, gladness and a festive crown.	9 El mismo la creó, la vio y la midió, y la derramó sobre todas sus obras:
10 Fear of the LORD warms the heart, giving gladness and joy and length of days.	10 la dio a todos los hombres, según su generosidad, y la infundió abundantemente en aquellos que lo aman.
11 He who fears the LORD will have a happy end; even on the day of his death he will be blessed.	11 El temor del Señor es gloria y motivo de orgullo, es gozo y corona de alegría.
12 The beginning of wisdom is fear of the LORD, which is formed with the faithful in the womb.	12 El temor del Señor deleita el corazón, da gozo, alegría y larga vida.
13 With devoted men was she created from of old, and with their children her beneficence abides.	13 Todo terminará bien para el que teme al Señor, él será bendecido en el día de su muerte.
14 Fullness of wisdom is fear of the LORD; she inebriates men with her fruits.	14 El principio de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor: ella es creada junto con los fieles en el seno materno.
15 Her entire house she fills with choice foods, her granaries with her harvest.	15 Anidó entre los hombres para siempre y permanecerá fielmente con su descendencia.
16 Wisdom's garland is fear of the LORD, with blossoms of peace and perfect health.	16 La plenitud de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor y ella los embriaga con sus frutos:
17 Knowledge and full understanding she showers down; she heightens the glory of those who possess her.	17 les colma la casa de bienes preciosos y con sus productos llena sus graneros.
18 The root of wisdom is fear of the LORD; her branches are length of days.	18 La corona de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor: ella hace florecer el bienestar y la buena salud.
19 One cannot justify unjust anger; anger plunges a man to his downfall.	19 El Señor la vio y la midió, hizo llover la ciencia y el conocimiento, y exaltó la gloria de los que la poseen.
20 A patient man need stand firm but for a time, and then contentment comes back to him.	20 La raíz de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor y sus ramas son una larga vida.
21 For a while he holds back his words, then the lips of many herald his wisdom.	21 El temor del Señor aleja los pecados: el que persevera en él aparta la ira divina.
22 Among wisdom's treasures is the paragon of prudence; but fear of the LORD is an abomination to the sinner.	22 Un arrebato indebido no puede justificarse, porque el ímpetu de la pasión lleva a la propia ruina.
23 If you desire wisdom, keep the commandments, and the LORD will bestow her upon you;	23 El hombre paciente soporta hasta el momento oportuno, pero al fin se llenará de gozo:
24 For fear of the LORD is wisdom and culture; loyal humility is his delight.	24 él reserva sus palabras hasta el momento oportuno, y los sabios de muchos proclamarán su inteligencia.
25 Be not faithless to the fear of the LORD, nor approach it with duplicity of heart.	25 En los tesoros de la sabiduría están los enigmas de la ciencia, pero el pecador aborrece la religiosidad.
26 Play not the hypocrite before men; over your lips keep watch.	26 Si deseas la sabiduría, observa los mandamientos, y el Señor te la dará abundantemente.
27 Exalt not yourself lest you fall and bring upon you dishonor;	27 Porque el temor del Señor es sabiduría e instrucción: a él le agradan la fidelidad y la mansedumbre.
28 For then the LORD will reveal your secrets and publicly cast you down,	28 No seas reacio al temor del Señor ni te acerques a él con doblez de corazón.
29 Because you approached the fear of the LORD with your heart full of guile.	29 No seas hipócrita delante de los hombres y presta atención a tus palabras.
	30 No te exaltes a ti mismo, no sea que caigas y atraigas sobre ti el deshonor: el Señor revelará tus secretos y te humillará en medio de la asamblea, por no haberte acercado al temor del Señor y porque tu corazón está lleno de falsedad.
