2 Rescue me from my enemies, my God; lift me out of reach of my foes.	2 Liberami dai miei nemici, o mio Dio, mettimi al sicuro dai miei aggressori.
3 Deliver me from evildoers; from the bloodthirsty save me.	3 Liberami dagli operatori d'iniquità, mettimi in salvo dagli uomini di sangue.
4 They have set an ambush for my life; the powerful conspire against me. For no offense or misdeed of mine, LORD,	4 Poiché, ecco, hanno teso insidie all'anima mia, dei potenti contro di me s'avventano. Non c'è in me trasgressione, non c'è peccato alcuno, o Signore;
5 for no fault they hurry to take up arms. Come near and see my plight!	5 bdéstati, vienimi incontro e vedi:
6 You, LORD of hosts, are the God of Israel! Awake! Punish all the nations. Have no mercy on these worthless traitors. Selah	6 bsorgi e visita tutti i popoli, non aver pietà di chiunque fa il male.
7 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	7 Ritornano alla sera, abbaiano come cani e vanno in giro per la città.
8 Their mouths pour out insult; sharp words are on their lips. They say: "Who is there to hear?"	8 Ecco, fanno bava dalle loro bocche, hanno spade fra le loro labbra... Poiché chi ascolta?
9 You, LORD, laugh at them; you deride all the nations.	9 Ma tu, o Signore, ti ridi di loro, ti fai beffe di tutti quanti i popoli.
10 My strength, for you I watch; you, God, are my fortress,	10 O mia forza, per te io vigilo: sì, o Dio, il mio baluardo sei tu.
11 my loving God.	11 Venga a me incontro il mio Dio di misericordia, mi faccia gioire Dio su quelli che mi avversano.
12 May God go before me, and show me my fallen foes. Slay them, God, lest they deceive my people. Shake them by your power; Lord, our shield, bring them down.	12 Non li uccidere, affinché non avvenga che se ne dimentichi il mio popolo; disperdili nella tua forza e umìliali, tu, o Signore, che sei il nostro scudo.
13 For the sinful words of their mouths and lips let them be caught in their pride. For the lies they have told under oath	13 Peccato della loro bocca è la parola delle loro labbra; ma resteranno irretiti nel loro orgoglio. A causa della maledizione menzognera che essi proferiscono
14 destroy them in anger, destroy till they are no more. Then people will know God rules over Jacob, yes, even to the ends of the earth. Selah	14 annientali nel tuo furore, annientali in modo che più non esistano. Sapranno così fino alle estremità della terra che Dio è Signore in Giacobbe.
15 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	15 Ritornano a sera, abbaiano come cani e vanno in giro per la città,
16 They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl.	16 vanno in cerca di cibo e, se non riescono a saziarsi, passano così la notte.
17 But I shall sing of your strength, extol your love at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble.	17 Ma io canterò alla tua forza ed esulterò al mattino per la tua misericordia. Poiché un baluardo sei stato per me e un rifugio, quando ero oppresso dall'angustia.
18 My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God.	18 O mia forza, a te io canterò. Sì, o Dio, il mio baluardo sei tu, o mio Dio di misericordia.
