Psalms 105

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	BIBLIA
1 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!	1 ¡Aleluya! ¡Dad gracias a Yahveh, aclamad su nombre, divulgad entre los pueblos sus hazañas!
2 Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!	2 ¡Cantadle, salmodiad para él, sus maravillas todas recitad;
3 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!	3 gloriaos en su santo nombre, se alegre el corazón de los que buscan a Yahveh!
4 Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.	4 ¡Buscad a Yahveh y su fuerza, id tras su rostro sin descanso,
5 Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,	5 recordad las maravillas que él ha hecho, sus prodigios y los juicios de su boca!
6 You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!	6 Raza de Abraham, su servidor, hijos de Jacob, su elegido:
7 The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.	7 él, Yahveh, es nuestro Dios, por toda la tierra sus juicios.
8 He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,	8 El se acuerda por siempre de su alianza, palabra que impuso a mil generaciones,
9 Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,	9 lo que pactó con Abraham, el juramento que hizo a Isaac,
10 And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:	10 y que puso a Jacob como precepto, a Israel como alianza eterna,
11 "To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."	11 diciendo: «Yo te daré la tierra de Canaán por parte de vuestra herencia».
12 When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,	12 Aunque ellos eran poco numerosos, gente de paso y forasteros allí,
13 Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,	13 cuando iban de nación en nación, desde un reino a otro pueblo,
14 He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:	14 a nadie permitió oprimirles, por ellos castigó a los reyes:
15 " Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."	15 «Guardaos de tocar a mis ungidos, ni mal alguno hagáis a mis profetas».
16 Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.	16 Llamó al hambre sobre aquel país, todo bastón de pan rompió;
17 He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 delante de ellos envió a un hombre, José, vendido como esclavo.
18 They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,	18 Sus pies vejaron con grilletes, por su cuello pasaron las cadenas,
19 Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.	19 hasta que se cumplió su predicción, y le acreditó la palabra de Yahveh.
20 The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.	20 El rey mandó a soltarle, el soberano de pueblos, a dejarle libre;
21 He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,	21 le erigió señor sobre su casa, y de toda su hacienda soberano,
22 To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.	22 para instruir a su gusto a sus magnates, y a sus ancianos hacer sabios.
23 Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.	23 Entonces Israel entró en Egipto, Jacob residió en el país de Cam.
24 God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.	24 El aumentó a su pueblo en gran manera, le hizo más fuerte que sus adversarios;
25 He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.	25 cambió el corazón de éstos para que odiasen a su pueblo y a sus siervos pusieran asechanzas.
26 He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.	26 Luego envió a Moisés su servidor, y Aarón, su escogido,
27 They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.	27 que hicieron entre ellos sus señales anunciadas, prodigios en el país de Cam.
28 He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.	28 Mandó tinieblas y tinieblas hubo, mas ellos desafiaron sus palabras.
29 He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.	29 Trocó en sangre sus aguas y a sus peces dio muerte.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.	30 Pululó de ranas su país, hasta en las moradas de sus reyes;
31 He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.	31 mandó él, y vinieron los mosquitos, los cínifes por toda su comarca.
32 For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.	32 Les dio por lluvia el granizo, llamas de fuego en su país;
33 He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.	33 hirió sus viñedos, sus higueras, y los árboles quebró de su comarca.
34 He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.	34 Dio la orden, y llegó la langosta, y el pulgón en número incontable;
35 They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.	35 comieron toda hierba en su país, comieron el fruto de su suelo.
36 He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.	36 E hirió en su país a todo primogénito, las primicias de todo su vigor;
37 He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.	37 y a ellos los sacó con plata y oro, ni uno solo flaqueó de entre sus tribus.
38 Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.	38 Egipto se alegró de su salida, pues era presa del terror.
39 He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.	39 El desplegó una nube por cubierta, y un fuego para alumbrar de noche.
40 They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.	40 Pidieron, y trajo codornices, de pan de los cielos los hartó;
41 He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.	41 abrió la roca, y brotaron las aguas, como río corrieron por los sequedales.
42 For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.	42 Recordando su palabra sagrada dada a Abraham su servidor,
43 He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.	43 sacó a su pueblo en alborozo, a sus elegidos entre gritos de júbilo.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,	44 Y las tierras les dio de las naciones, el trabajo de las gentes heredaron,
45 That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!	45 a fin de que garden sus preceptos y sus leyes observen.
