1 After this, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them; and he took Gath and its towns away from the control of the Philistines.	1 После сего Давид поразил Филистимлян и смирил их, и взял Геф и зависящие от него города из руки Филистимлян.
2 He also defeated Moab, and the Moabites became his subjects, paying tribute.	2 Он поразил также Моавитян, --и сделались Моавитяне рабами Давида, принося ему дань.
3 David then defeated Hadadezer, king of Zobah toward Hamath, when the latter was on his way to set up his victory stele at the river Euphrates.	3 И поразил Давид Адраазара, царя Сувского, в Емафе, когда тот шел утвердить власть свою при реке Евфрате.
4 David took from him twenty thousand foot soldiers, one thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen. Of the chariot horses, David hamstrung all but one hundred.	4 И взял Давид у него тысячу колесниц, семь тысяч всадников и двадцать тысяч пеших, и разрушил Давид все колесницы, оставив из них [только] сто.
5 The Arameans of Damascus came to the aid of Hadadezer, king of Zobah, but David also slew twenty-two thousand of their men.	5 Сирияне Дамасские пришли было на помощь к Адраазару, царю Сувскому, но Давид поразил двадцать две тысячи Сириян.
6 Then David set up garrisons in the Damascus region of Aram, and the Arameans became his subjects, paying tribute. Thus the LORD made David victorious in all his campaigns.	6 И поставил Давид [охранное войско] в Сирии Дамасской, и сделались Сирияне рабами Давида, принося ему дань. И помогал Господь Давиду везде, куда он ни ходил.
7 David took the golden shields that were carried by Hadadezer's attendants and brought them to Jerusalem.	7 И взял Давид золотые щиты, которые были у рабов Адраазара, и принес их в Иерусалим.
8 He likewise took away from Tibhath and Cun, cities of Hadadezer, large quantities of bronze, which Solomon later used to make the bronze sea and the pillars and the vessels of bronze.	8 А из Тивхавы и Куна, городов Адраазаровых, взял Давид весьма много меди. Из нее Соломон сделал медное море и столбы и медные сосуды.
9 When Tou, king of Hamath, heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer, king of Zobah,	9 И услышал Фой, царь Имафа, что Давид поразил все войско Адраазара, царя Сувского.
10 he sent his son Hadoram to wish King David well and to congratulate him on having waged a victorious war against Hadadezer; for Hadadezer had been at war with Tou. He also sent David gold, silver and bronze utensils of every sort.	10 И послал Иорама, сына своего, к царю Давиду, приветствовать его и благодарить за то, что он воевал с Адраазаром и поразил его, ибо Фой был в войне с Адраазаром, --и [с ним] всякие сосуды золотые, серебряные и медные.
11 These also King David consecrated to the LORD along with all the silver and gold that he had taken from the nations: from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek.	11 И посвятил их царь Давид Господу вместе с серебром и золотом, которое он взял от всех народов: от Идумеян, Моавитян, Аммонитян, Филистимлян и от Амаликитян.
12 Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, also slew eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.	12 И Авесса, сын Саруи, поразил Идумеян на долине Соляной восемнадцать тысяч;
13 He set up garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David's subjects. Thus the LORD made David victorious in all his campaigns.	13 и поставил в Идумее охранное войско, и сделались все Идумеяне рабами Давиду. Господь помогал Давиду везде, куда он ни ходил.
14 David reigned over all Israel and dispensed justice and right to all his people.	14 И царствовал Давид над всем Израилем, и творил суд и правду всему народу своему.
15 Joab, son of Zeruiah, was in command of the army; Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, was herald;	15 Иоав, сын Саруи, [был] начальником войска, Иосафат, сын Ахилуда, дееписателем,
16 Zadok, son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech, son of Abiathar, were priests; Shavsha was scribe;	16 Садок, сын Ахитува, и Авимелех, сын Авиафара, священниками, а Суса писцом,
17 Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, was in command of the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were the chief assistants to the king.	17 Ванея, сын Иодая, над Хелефеями и Фелефеями, а сыновья Давидовы--первыми при царе.
