KING JAMES BIBLENOVA VULGATA
And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.1 Et introivit iterum in synago gam. Et erat ibi homo habens manum aridam;
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.2 et observabant eum, si sabbatis curaret illum, ut accusarent eum.
And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.3 Et aithomini habenti manum aridam: “ Surge in medium ”.
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.4 Et dicit eis: “ Licetsabbatis bene facere an male? Animam salvam facere an perdere? ”. At illitacebant.
And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.5 Et circumspiciens eos cum ira, contristatus super caecitate cordiseorum, dicit homini: “ Extende manum ”. Et extendit, et restituta est manuseius.
And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.6 Et exeuntes pharisaei statim cum herodianis consilium faciebant adversuseum quomodo eum perderent.
But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,7 Et Iesus cum discipulis suis secessit ad mare. Et multa turba a Galilaeasecuta est et a Iudaea
And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.8 et ab Hierosolymis et ab Idumaea; et, qui transIordanem et circa Tyrum et Sidonem, multitudo magna, audientes, quae faciebat,venerunt ad eum.
And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.9 Et dixit discipulis suis, ut navicula sibi praesto essetpropter turbam, ne comprimerent eum.
For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.10 Multos enim sanavit, ita ut irruerent in eum, ut illum tangerent, quotquothabebant plagas.
And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.11 Et spiritus immundi, cum illum videbant, procidebant ei etclamabant dicentes: “ Tu es Filius Dei! ”.
And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.12 Et vehementer comminabatureis, ne manifestarent illum.
And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.13 Et ascendit in montem et vocat ad se, quos voluit ipse, et venerunt ad eum.
And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,14 Et fecit Duodecim, ut essent cum illo, et ut mitteret eos praedicare
And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:15 habentes potestatem eiciendi daemonia:
And Simon he surnamed Peter;16 et imposuit Simoni nomen Petrum;
And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:17 etIacobum Zebedaei et Ioannem fratrem Iacobi, et imposuit eis nomina Boanerges,quod est Filii tonitrui;
And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,18 et Andream et Philippum et Bartholomaeum etMatthaeum et Thomam et Iacobum Alphaei et Thaddaeum et Simonem Chananaeum
And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.19 etIudam Iscarioth, qui et tradidit illum.
And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.20 Et venit ad domum; et convenit iterum turba, ita ut non possent neque panemmanducare.
And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.21 Et cum audissent sui, exierunt tenere eum; dicebant enim: “ Infurorem versus est ”.
And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.22 Et scribae, qui ab Hierosolymis descenderant, dicebant: “ Beelzebul habet” et: “ In principe daemonum eicit daemonia ”.
And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?23 Et convocatis eis, inparabolis dicebat illis: “ Quomodo potest Satanas Satanam eicere?
And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.24 Et siregnum in se dividatur, non potest stare regnum illud;
And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.25 et si domus insemetipsam dispertiatur, non poterit domus illa stare.
And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.26 Et si Satanasconsurrexit in semetipsum et dispertitus est, non potest stare, sed finem habet.
No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.27 Nemo autem potest in domum fortis ingressus vasa eius diripere, nisi priusfortem alliget; et tunc domum eius diripiet.
Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:28 Amen dico vobis: Omniadimittentur filiis hominum peccata et blasphemiae, quibus blasphemaverint;
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:29 qui autem blasphemaverit in Spiritum Sanctum, non habet remissionem in aeternum,sed reus est aeterni delicti ”.
Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.30 Quoniam dicebant: “ Spiritum immundumhabet ”.
There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.31 Et venit mater eius et fratres eius, et foris stantes miserunt ad eumvocantes eum.
And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.32 Et sedebat circa eum turba, et dicunt ei: “ Ecce mater tua etfratres tui et sorores tuae foris quaerunt te ”.
And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?33 Et respondens eis ait: “Quae est mater mea et fratres mei? ”.
And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!34 Et circumspiciens eos, qui incircuitu eius sedebant, ait: “ Ecce mater mea et fratres mei.
For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.35 Qui enimfecerit voluntatem Dei, hic frater meus et soror mea et mater est ”.
