Psalms 92

1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:	1 Psaume. Cantique pour le jour du sabbat.
2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,	2 Il est bon de louer le Seigneur et de célébrer ton nom, Dieu Très-Haut!
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.	3 de rappeler tes faveurs au matin et ta fidélité tout au long de la nuit,
4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.	4 avec la lyre et la cithare, sur un fond de harpe.
5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.	5 Tu as agi, Seigneur, et j’en suis tout joyeux; à voir les œuvres de tes mains je m’écrie:
6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.	6 “Que tes œuvres sont grandes, Seigneur, et tes pensées, qu’elles sont profondes!”
7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:	7 Les esprits bornés n’en savent rien, l’homme sans cervelle ne peut pas comprendre.
8 But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.	8 Si les méchants poussent comme l’herbe, si les malfaisants prospèrent, c’est pour être détruits à jamais,
9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.	9 alors que toi, Seigneur, tu domines pour toujours.
10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.	10 Il vient un temps où tes ennemis périssent, où tous les malfaisants se dispersent.
11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.	11 Mais à moi tu me donnes l’assurance du buffle; tu m’as fait le massage aux huiles de vigueur,
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.	12 et je regarde de haut mes adversaires, j’écoute, sans plus, ces criminels.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.	13 Le juste s’élève comme le palmier, il émerge, comme le cèdre du Liban.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;	14 Ceux qui sont plantés dans la maison du Seigneur fleuriront dans les parterres de notre Dieu.
15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.	15 Dans la vieillesse encore ils porteront du fruit, ils seront verts et vigoureux.
	16 Ils pourront redire que le Seigneur est juste: “Il est mon rocher: lui est sans faille!”
