KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.1 A song; a psalm of Asaph.
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.2 God, do not be silent; God, be not still and unmoved!
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.3 See how your enemies rage; your foes proudly raise their heads.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.4 They conspire against your people, plot against those you protect.
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:5 They say, "Come, let us wipe out their nation; let Israel's name be mentioned no more!"
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;6 They scheme with one mind, in league against you:
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;7 The tents of Ishmael and Edom, the people of Moab and Hagar,
Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.8 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia and the inhabitants of Tyre.
Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:9 Assyria, too, in league with them gives aid to the descendants of Lot. Selah
Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.10 Deal with them as with Midian; as with Sisera and Jabin at the torrent Kishon,
Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:11 Those destroyed at Endor, who became dung for the ground.
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.12 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.13 Who made a plan together, "Let us seize the pastures of God."
As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;14 My God, turn them into withered grass, into chaff flying before the wind.
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.15 As a fire raging through a forest, a flame setting mountains ablaze,
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.16 Pursue them with your tempest; terrify them with your storm.
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:17 Cover their faces with shame, till they pay you homage, LORD.
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.18 Let them be dismayed and shamed forever; let them perish in disgrace.
Show them you alone are the LORD, the Most High over all the earth.
