Psalms 12

1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.	1 Nella fine, il salmo di David. Persino alla fine di quanto tempo rimarrò io dimenticato appo te, Signore? e persino a quanto starà la faccia tua rivoltata da me?
2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.	2 Quanto lungamente porrò io li consigli nell'anima mia, e il dolore per ciascuno dì nel mio cuore?
3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:	3 Quanto lungamente rimarrà esaltato il mio nemico sopra di me?
4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?	4 Ragguarda ed esaudisci me, Signore Iddio mio. Illumina gli occhi miei, acciò che mai non dorma nella morte.
5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.	5 Chè per avventura non dica il nimico mio: io sono stato più forte di lui. Quelli che mi trìbulano si rallegreranno, se io mi muoverò.
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.	6 Ma io sperai nella tua misericordia. Il cuore mio si rallegrerà nel tuo Salvatore; canterò al Signore il qual m' ha dato molti beni; e salmeggerò al nome altissimo del Signore.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.
