Livre de Nahum 2

JERUSALEM	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Voici sur les montagnes les pas du messager; il annonce: "La Paix!" Célèbre tes fêtes, Juda,accomplis tes voeux, car Bélial désormais ne passera plus chez toi, il est entièrement anéanti.	1 He is come up that shall destroy before thy face, that shall keep the siege: watch the way, fortify thy loins, strengthen thy power exceedingly.
2 Un destructeur s'avance contre toi. Monte la garde au rempart, surveille la route, ceins-toi les reins,rassemble toutes tes forces.	2 For the Lord hath rendered the pride of Jacob, as the pride of Israel: because the spoilers have laid them waste, and have marred their vine branches.
3 (Oui, Yahvé rétablit la vigne de Jacob et la vigne d'Israël. Les pillards les avaient pillées, ils enavaient brisé les sarments).	3 The shield of his mighty men is like fire, the men of the army are clad in scarlet, the reins of the chariot are flaming in the day of his preparation, and the drivers are stupefied.
4 Le bouclier de ses preux rougeoie, ses braves sont vêtus d'écarlate; les chars flamboient de tous leursaciers au jour de leur mise en ligne; les cavaliers s'agitent;	4 They are in confusion in the ways, the chariots jostle one against another in the streets: their looks are like torches, like lightning running to and fro.
5 dans les rues les chars font rage, ils foncent à travers les places; à les voir on dirait des flammes;comme la foudre, ils courent çà et là.	5 He will muster up his valiant men, they shall stumble in their march: they shall quickly get upon the walls thereof: and a covering shall be prepared.
6 On appelle les puissants; ils trébuchent dans leur marche; ils se hâtent vers le rempart. Et l'abri est enplace.	6 The gates of the rivers are opened, and the temple is thrown down to the ground.
7 Les portes qui donnent sur le Fleuve s'ouvrent et le palais s'agite en tous sens.	7 And the soldier is led away captive: and her bondwomen were led away mourning as doves, murmuring in their hearts.
8 La Beauté est emmenée en exil, enlevée, ses servantes poussent des gémissements comme la plaintedes colombes;	8 And as for Ninive, her waters are like a great pool, but the men flee away. They cry: Stand, stand, but there is none that will return back.
9 elles se frappent le coeur. Ninive est comme un bassin d'eau dont les eaux s'échappent. "Arrêtez,arrêtez!" Mais nul ne se retourne.	9 Take ye the spoil of the silver, take the spoil of the gold: for there is no end of the riches of all the precious furniture.
10 "Pillez l'argent! Pillez l'or!" Il n'y a pas de fin au trésor, une masse de tous objets précieux!	10 She is destroyed, and rent, and torn: the heart melteth, and the knees fail, and all the loins lose their strength: and the faces of them all are as the blackness of a kettle.
11 Pillage, saccage, ravage! Le coeur se fond, les genoux fléchissent, le frisson est dans tous les reins,tous les visages perdent leur couleur.	11 Where is now the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, to which the lion went, to enter in thither, the young lion, and there was none to make them afraid?
12 Où est la tanière des lions, la caverne des lionceaux? Lorsque partait le lion, la lionne y restait, etles petits du lion; nul ne les inquiétait.	12 The lion caught enough for his whelps, and killed for his lionesses: and he filled his holes with prey, and his den with rapine.
13 Le lion déchirait pour ses petits, il étranglait pour ses lionnes; il remplissait ses antres de rapine, sestanières de proie.	13 Behold I come against thee, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will burn thy chariots even to smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey out of the land, and the voice of thy messengers shall be heard no more.
14 Me voici! A toi! oracle de Yahvé Sabaot. Je vais réduire en fumée tes chars; l'épée dévorera teslionceaux. Je vais faire disparaître de la terre tes rapines et l'on n'entendra plus la voix de tes messagers.
