1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron et dit:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
2 "Faites le recensement de ceux des Lévites qui sont fils de Qehat, par clans et par familles:	2 “Take a total of the sons of Kohath from the midst of the Levites, by their houses and families,
3 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, qui devraient faire campagne, et qui accompliront leur fonctiondans la Tente du Rendez-vous.	3 from thirty years and above, even to the fiftieth year, of all who enter so as to stand and minister in the tabernacle of the covenant.
4 Voici quel sera le service des fils de Qehat dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: la charge des chosestrès saintes.	4 This is the service of the sons of Kohath: the tabernacle of the covenant and the Holy of holies.
5 Quand on lèvera le camp, Aaron et ses fils viendront déposer le rideau du voile. Ils en couvrirontl'arche du Témoignage.	5 Aaron and his sons shall enter, when the camp is going to move, and they shall take down the veil, which hangs before the entrance, and they shall wrap the ark of the testimony in it,
6 Ils mettront par-dessus une housse en cuir fin, sur laquelle ils étendront une étoffe toute de pourpreviolette. Puis ils ajusteront les barres de l'arche.	6 and they shall cover it further with a veil of violet skins, and they shall extend over it a cloth made entirely of hyacinth, and they shall draw in the bars.
7 Sur la table d'oblation, ils étendront une étoffe de pourpre, sur laquelle ils déposeront les plats, lescoupes, les patères et les aiguières à libation; le pain de l'oblation perpétuelle y sera aussi.	7 Likewise, they shall wrap the table of the presence in a cloth of hyacinth, and they shall place with it the censers and little mortars, the cups and bowls for pouring out libations; the bread shall be always on it.
8 Ils étendront par-dessus une étoffe de cramoisi, qu'ils recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin. Puis ilsajusteront les barres de la table.	8 And they shall extend over it a cloth of scarlet, which they shall further cover with a veil of violet skins, and they shall draw in the bars.
9 Ils prendront alors une étoffe de pourpre, dont ils couvriront le candélabre de lumière, ses lampes,ses mouchettes et ses cendriers, et tous les vases à huile employés pour son service.	9 They shall take also a cloth of hyacinth, with which they shall cover the lampstand with the lamps, and its tongs, and the candle snuffers, and all the vessels of oil, which are necessary for the preparation of the lamps.
10 Ils le déposeront avec tous ses accessoires sur une housse en cuir fin et le placeront sur lebrancard.	10 And over all this they shall place a covering of violet skins, and they shall draw in the bars.
11 Sur l'autel d'or, ils étendront une étoffe de pourpre, et le recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin.Puis ils y ajusteront les barres.	11 And certainly they shall wrap the golden altar in a hyacinth garment, and they shall extend over it a covering of violet skins, and they shall draw in the bars.
12 Ils prendront ensuite tous les objets employés pour le service du sanctuaire. Ils les déposeront surune étoffe de pourpre, ils les recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin, et mettront le tout sur le brancard.	12 All the vessels with which they minister in the Sanctuary they shall wrap in a cloth of hyacinth, and they shall extend over it a covering of violet skins, and they shall draw in the bars.
13 Après avoir retiré de l'autel ses cendres grasses, ils étendront dessus une étoffe d'écarlate,	13 Moreover, they shall cleanse the altar of ashes, and they shall wrap it in a purple garment,
14 sur laquelle ils déposeront tous les objets que l'on emploie pour officier, les encensoirs, lesfourchettes, les pelles, les coupes d'aspersion, tous les accessoires de l'autel. Ils étendront par-dessus une housseen cuir fin; puis ils ajusteront les barres.	14 and they shall place it with all the vessels which they use in its ministry, that is, receptacles for fire, small hooks as well as forks, larger hooks and shovels. They shall cover all the vessels of the altar together with a veil of violet skins, and they shall draw in the bars.
15 Lorsque Aaron et ses fils auront fini d'envelopper les choses sacrées et tous leurs accessoires, aumoment de lever le camp, les fils de Qehat viendront les porter, mais sans toucher à ce qui est consacré: ilsmourraient. Telle est la charge des fils de Qehat dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.	15 And when Aaron and his sons have wrapped the Sanctuary and its vessels at the dismantling of the camp, then the sons of Kohath shall enter, so as to carry what has been wrapped. And they shall not touch the vessels of the Sanctuary, lest they die. These are the burdens of the sons of Kohath concerning the tabernacle of the covenant.
16 Mais à Eléazar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre, il incombera de veiller à l'huile du luminaire, aux parfumsd'herbes odorantes, à l'oblation perpétuelle, à l'huile d'onction; il devra veiller sur toute la Demeure, sur tout cequi s'y trouve: les choses sacrées et leurs accessoires."	16 Over them shall be Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, to whom belongs the care of the oil to prepare the lamps, and the incense compound, and the sacrifice, which is offered continually, and the oil of unction, and whatever pertains to the service of the tabernacle, and all the vessels that are in the Sanctuary.”
17 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron. Il dit:	17 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
18 "Ne retranchez pas du nombre des Lévites la tribu des clans Qehatites.	18 “Do not be willing to lose the people of Kohath from the midst of the Levites.
19 Agissez donc ainsi pour eux, afin qu'ils vivent et n'encourent pas la mort en s'approchant deschoses très saintes: Aaron et ses fils viendront placer chacun d'eux au lieu de son service et près de son fardeau.	19 But do this for them, so that they may live, and so that they may not die by touching the Holies of holies. Aaron and his sons shall enter, and they shall assign the work of each one, and they shall determine what each one ought to carry.
20 Ils éviteront ainsi d'entrer et de porter le regard, ne fût-ce qu'un instant, sur les choses sacrées: ilsmourraient!"	20 Let no others, out of curiosity, see the things that are in the Sanctuary before they are wrapped, otherwise they shall die.”
21 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	21 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
22 "Fais aussi le recensement des fils de Gershôn, par familles et par clans:	22 “Now also take a total of the sons of Gershon, by their houses and families and kinships,
23 Tu recenseras tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne, et qui feront le servicedans la Tente du Rendez-vous.	23 from thirty years and above, even to fifty years. Number all those who enter and minister in the tabernacle of the covenant.
24 Voici quel sera le service des clans Gershonites, leurs fonctions et leurs fardeaux.	24 This is the duty of the family of the Gershonites:
25 Ils porteront les tentures de la Demeure, la Tente du Rendez-vous avec sa bâche et la bâche encuir fin qui la recouvre, la portière d'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous,	25 to carry the curtains of the tabernacle, and the roof of the covenant, the other covering, and the veil over everything, and the violet tent, which hangs at the entrance of the tabernacle of the covenant,
26 les rideaux du parvis, le voile d'entrée de la porte du parvis qui entoure la Demeure et l'autel, lescordages et tous les accessoires du culte, tout le matériel nécessaire. 27 Tout ce service des fils de Gershôn -- fonctions et fardeaux -- se fera sous les ordres d'Aaron etde ses fils: vous aurez à les surveiller dans l'observance de leur charge.	27 the sons of Gershon shall carry, under the orders of Aaron and his sons. And so shall each one know to which burden he ought to surrender.
28 Tel sera le service des clans Gershonites dans la Tente du Rendez-vous. Leur ministère dépendrad'Itamar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre."	28 This is the service of the family of the Gershonites, in the tabernacle of the covenant, and they shall be under the hand of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest.
29 "Tu feras le recensement des fils de Merari, par clans et par familles.	29 Likewise, you shall take a census of the sons of Merari, by the families and houses of their fathers,
30 Tu feras le recensement de tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans aptes à faire campagne, et qui ferontle service dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.	30 from thirty years and above, even to fifty years, of all who enter to the office of their ministry and to the service of the covenant of the testimony.
31 Voici le fardeau qu'ils assumeront, et tout le service qui leur incombera dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: les cadres de la Demeure, ses traverses, ses colonnes et ses socles.	31 These are their burdens: They shall carry the panels of the tabernacle and its bars, the columns and their bases,
32 Les colonnes qui entourent le parvis, leurs socles, leurs piquets, leurs cordages et tout leurappareil. Vous ferez le relevé de leurs noms avec les objets dont ils assumeront le fardeau.	32 also the columns surrounding the atrium, with their bases and tent pegs and cords. They shall accept by number all the vessels and articles, and so shall they carry them.
33 Tel sera le service des clans Merarites. Pour tout leur service dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, ilsdépendront d'Itamar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre."	33 This is the office of the family of the Merarites, and their ministry for the tabernacle of the covenant. And they shall be under the hand of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest.”
34 Moïse, Aaron et les princes de la communauté firent le recensement des fils de Qehat, par clanset par familles;	34 Therefore, Moses and Aaron, and the leaders of the assembly, took a census of the sons of Kohath, by the kinships and houses of their fathers,
35 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne et chargés du service dans la Tente duRendez-vous.	35 from thirty years and above, even to the fiftieth year, of all who enter to the ministry of the tabernacle of the covenant.
36 On compta pour leurs clans 2.750 recensés.	36 And there were found two thousand seven hundred fifty.
37 Tel fut le nombre des recensés des clans Qehatites, tous ceux qui devraient servir dans la Tentedu Rendez-vous, et que recensèrent Moïse et Aaron, sur l'ordre de Yahvé transmis par Moïse.	37 This is the number of the people of Kohath, who enter the tabernacle of the covenant. These Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
38 On fit le recensement des fils de Gershôn, par clans et par familles:	38 The sons of Gershon also were numbered by the kinships and houses of their fathers,
39 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne et chargés du service dans la Tente duRendez-vous.	39 from thirty years and above, even to the fiftieth year, all who enter so as to minister in the tabernacle of the covenant.
40 On compta 2.630 recensés, par clans et par familles.	40 And there were found two thousand six hundred thirty.
41 Tel fut le nombre des recensés des clans Gershonites, tous ceux qui devaient servir dans la Tentedu Rendez-vous, et que recensèrent Moïse et Aaron, sur l'ordre de Yahvé.	41 This is the people of the Gershonites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the Lord.
42 On fit le recensement des clans des fils de Merari par clans et par familles:	42 The sons of Merari also were numbered by the kinships and houses of their fathers,
43 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne et chargés du service dans la Tente duRendez-vous.	43 from thirty years and above, even to the fiftieth year, all who enter to fulfill the rituals of the tabernacle of the covenant.
44 On compta pour leurs clans 3.200 recensés.	44 And there were found three thousand two hundred.
45 Tel fut le nombre des recensés des clans Merarites, que recensèrent Moïse et Aaron, sur l'ordre deYahvé transmis par Moïse.	45 This is the number of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
46 Le nombre total des Lévites que Moïse, Aaron et les princes d'Israël recensèrent par clans et parfamilles --	46 All who were counted from the Levites, and whom, by name, Moses and Aaron, and the leaders of Israel, counted by the kinships and houses of their fathers,
47 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à servir dans le culte et à servir dans le service du transportde la Tente du Rendez-vous --	47 from thirty years and above, until the fiftieth year, entering for the ministry of the tabernacle and carrying the burdens,
48 se monta à 8.580 recensés.	48 were together eight thousand five hundred eighty.
49 Sur l'ordre de Yahvé transmis par Moïse, on fit leur recensement en attribuant à chacun sonservice et son fardeau; ils furent recensés comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.	49 Moses took a census of them, according to the word of the Lord, each one according to their office and their burdens, just as the Lord had instructed him.
