Psalms 29

DOUAI-RHEIMS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 A psalm for David, at the finishing of the tabernacle. Bring to the Lord, O ye children of God: bring to the Lord the offspring of rams.	1 [Psalm Of David] Give Yahweh his due, sons of God, give Yahweh his due of glory and strength,
2 Bring to the Lord glory and honour: bring to the Lord glory to his name: adore ye the Lord in his holy court.	2 give Yahweh the glory due to his name, adore Yahweh in the splendour of holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of majesty hath thundered, The Lord is upon many waters.	3 Yahweh's voice over the waters, the God of glory thunders; Yahweh over countless waters,
4 The voice of the Lord is in power; the voice of the Lord in magnificence.	4 Yahweh's voice in power, Yahweh's voice in splendour;
5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord shall break the cedars of Libanus.	5 Yahweh's voice shatters cedars, Yahweh shatters cedars of Lebanon,
6 And shall reduce them to pieces, as a calf of Libanus, and as the beloved son of unicorns.	6 he makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord divideth the flame of fire:	7 Yahweh's voice carves out lightning-shafts,
8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the desert: and the Lord shall shake the desert of Cades.	8 Yahweh's voice convulses the desert, Yahweh convulses the desert of Kadesh,
9 The voice of the Lord prepareth the stags: and he will discover the thick woods: and in his temple all shall speak his glory.	9 Yahweh's voice convulses terebinths, strips forests bare. In his palace al cry, 'Glory!'
10 The Lord maketh the hood to dwell: and the Lord shall sit king for ever. The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.	10 Yahweh was enthroned for the flood, Yahweh is enthroned as king for ever.
	11 Yahweh will give strength to his people, Yahweh blesses his people with peace.
