Psalms 1

DOUAI-RHEIMS	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Blessed is the man who hath not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the chair of pestilence.	1 Beato l'uomo che non camminò nel consiglio degli empi e nella via dei peccatori non si fermò e nel consesso dei beffardi non s'assise;
2 But his will is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he shall meditate day and night.	2 ma nella legge del Signore è la sua gioia e in essa medita giorno e notte.
3 And he shall be like a tree which is planted near the running waters, which shall bring forth its fruit, in due season. And his leaf shall not fall off: and all whosoever he shall do shall prosper.	3 Perciò sarà come un albero che su rivi d'acqua è piantato, che dà i suoi frutti ad ogni stagione, le cui foglie mai appassiscono: in ogni cosa che fa ha sempre successo.
4 Not so the wicked, not so: but like the dust, which the wind driveth from the face of the earth.	4 Non così gli empi: essi al contrario saranno come pula che il vento sospinge.
5 Therefore the wicked shall not rise again in judgment: nor sinners in the council of the just.	5 Per questo non entreranno gli empi nel giudizio, né i peccatori nell'assemblea dei giusti,
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the just: and the way of the wicked shall perish.	6 Il Signore conosce la via dei giusti. mentre la via degli empi andrà in rovina.
