1 Cantico di Maalot. OR dica Israele: Mi hanno molte volte assalito dalla mia fanciullezza;	1 A song of ascents. Much have they oppressed me from my youth, now let Israel say.
2 Mi hanno spesse volte assalito dalla mia fanciullezza; E pure ancora non hanno potuto vincermi.	2 Much have they oppressed me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed.
3 Degli aratori hanno arato sopra il mio dosso; V’hanno tirati i lor solchi.	3 Upon my back the plowers plowed, as they traced their long furrows.
4 Il Signore è giusto; Egli ha tagliate le funi degli empi	4 But the just LORD cut me free from the ropes of the yoke of the wicked.
5 Tutti quelli che odiano Sion Sieno confusi, e voltin le spalle.	5 May they be scattered in disgrace, all who hate Zion.
6 Sieno come l’erba de’ tetti, Che si secca avanti che sia tratta;	6 May they be like grass on the rooftops withered in early growth,
7 Della quale il mietitore non empie la sua mano, Nè il suo grembo colui che lega le manelle;	7 Never to fill the reaper's hands, nor the arms of the binders of sheaves,
8 Per la quale eziandio i passanti non dicono: La benedizione del Signore sia sopra voi; Noi vi benediciamo nel Nome del Signore	8 With none passing by to call out: "The blessing of the LORD be upon you! We bless you in the name of the LORD!"
