1 Corintios 3

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Por mi parte, no pude hablarles como a hombres espirituales, sino como a hombres carnales, como a quienes todavía son niños en Cristo.	1 And so, brothers, I was not able to talk to you as spiritual people; I had to talk to you as people stilliving by your natural inclinations, stil infants in Christ;
2 Los alimenté con leche y no con alimento sólido, porque aún no podían tolerarlo, como tampoco ahora,	2 I fed you with milk and not solid food, for you were not yet able to take it -- and even now, you are stilnot able to,
3 ya que siguen siendo carnales. Los celos y discordias que hay entre ustedes, ¿no prueban acaso, que todavía son carnales y se comportan de una manera puramente humana?	3 for you are still living by your natural inclinations. As long as there are jealousy and rivalry among you,that surely means that you are stil living by your natural inclinations and by merely human principles.
4 Cuando uno dice: «Yo soy de Pablo», y el otro: «Yo de Apolo», ¿acaso no están procediendo como lo haría cualquier hombre?	4 While there is one that says, 'I belong to Paul' and another that says, 'I belong to Apol os' are you notbeing only too human?
5 Después de todo, ¿quién es Apolo, quién es Pablo? Simples servidores, por medio de los cuales ustedes han creído, y cada uno de ellos lo es según lo que ha recibido del Señor.	5 For what is Apollos and what is Paul? The servants through whom you came to believe, and each hasonly what the Lord has given him.
6 Yo planté y Apolo regó, pero el que ha hecho crecer es Dios.	6 I did the planting, Apol os did the watering, but God gave growth.
7 Ni el que planta ni el que riega valen algo, sino Dios, que hace crecer.	7 In this, neither the planter nor the waterer counts for anything; only God, who gives growth.
8 No hay ninguna diferencia entre el que planta y el que riega; sin embargo, cada uno recibirá su salario de acuerdo con el trabajo que haya realizado.	8 It is al one who does the planting and who does the watering, and each will have the proper pay for thework that he has done.
9 Porque nosotros somos cooperadores de Dios, y ustedes son el campo de Dios, el edificio de Dios.	9 After all, we do share in God's work; you are God's farm, God's building.
10 Según la gracia que Dios me ha dado, yo puse los cimientos como lo hace un buen arquitecto, y otro edifica encima. Que cada cual se fije bien de qué manera construye.	10 By the grace of God which was given to me, I laid the foundations like a trained master-builder, andsomeone else is building on them. Now each one must be careful how he does the building.
11 El fundamento ya está puesto y nadie puede poner otro, porque el fundamento es Jesucristo.	11 For nobody can lay down any other foundation than the one which is there already, namely JesusChrist.
12 Sobre él se puede edificar con oro, plata, piedras preciosas, madera, pasto o paja:	12 On this foundation, different people may build in gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw
13 la obra de cada uno aparecerá tal como es, porque el día del Juicio, que se revelará por medio del fuego, la pondrá de manifiesto; y el fuego probará la calidad de la obra de cada uno.	13 but each person's handiwork wil be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in fire will make it clearand the fire itself wil test the quality of each person's work.
14 Si la obra construida sobre el fundamento resiste la prueba, el que la hizo recibirá la recompensa;	14 The one whose work stands up to it wil be given his wages;
15 si la obra es consumida, se perderá. Sin embargo, su autor se salvará, como quien se libra del fuego.	15 the one whose work is burnt down wil suffer the loss of it, though he himself will be saved; he wil besaved as someone might expect to be saved from a fire.
16 ¿No saben que ustedes son templo de Dios y que el Espíritu de Dios habita en ustedes?	16 Do you not realise that you are a temple of God with the Spirit of God living in you?
17 Si alguno destruye el templo de Dios, Dios lo destruirá a él. Porque el templo de Dios es sagrado, y ustedes son ese templo.	17 If anybody should destroy the temple of God, God will destroy that person, because God's temple isholy; and you are that temple.
18 ¡Que nadie se engañe! Si alguno de ustedes se tiene por sabio en este mundo, que se haga insensato para ser realmente sabio.	18 There is no room for self-delusion. Any one of you who thinks he is wise by worldly standards mustlearn to be a fool in order to be real y wise.
19 Porque la sabiduría de este mundo es locura delante de Dios. En efecto, dice la Escritura: "El sorprende a los sabios en su propia astucia",	19 For the wisdom of the world is folly to God. As scripture says: He traps the crafty in the snare of theirown cunning
20 y además: "El Señor conoce los razonamientos de los sabios y sabe que son vanos".	20 and again: The Lord knows the plans of the wise and how insipid they are.
21 En consecuencia, que nadie se gloríe en los hombres, porque todo les pertenece a ustedes:	21 So there is to be no boasting about human beings: everything belongs to you,
22 Pablo, Apolo o Cefas, el mundo, la vida, la muerte, el presente o el futuro. Todo es de ustedes,	22 whether it is Paul, or Apol os, or Cephas, the world, life or death, the present or the future -- al belongto you;
23 pero ustedes son de Cristo y Cristo es de Dios.	23 but you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.
