EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 «No se inquieten. Crean en Dios y crean también en mí.	1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You trust in God, trust also in me.
2 En la Casa de mi Padre hay muchas habitaciones; si no fuera así, se lo habría dicho a ustedes. Yo voy a prepararles un lugar.	2 In my Father's house there are many places to live in; otherwise I would have told you. I am going nowto prepare a place for you,
3 Y cuando haya ido y les haya preparado un lugar, volveré otra vez para llevarlos conmigo, a fin de que donde yo esté, estén también ustedes.	3 and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you to myself, so that you maybe with me where I am.
4 Ya conocen el camino del lugar adonde voy».	4 You know the way to the place where I am going.
5 Tomás le dijo: «Señor, no sabemos adónde vas. ¿Cómo vamos a conocer el camino?».	5 Thomas said, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?'
6 Jesús le respondió: «Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida. Nadie va al Padre, sino por mí.	6 Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
7 Si ustedes me conocen, conocerán también a mi Padre. Ya desde ahora lo conocen y lo han visto».	7 If you know me, you will know my Father too. From this moment you know him and have seen him.
8 Felipe le dijo: «Señor, muéstranos al Padre y eso nos basta».	8 Philip said, 'Lord, show us the Father and then we shall be satisfied.' Jesus said to him,
9 Jesús le respondió: «Felipe, hace tanto tiempo que estoy con ustedes, ¿y todavía no me conocen?. El que me ha visto, ha visto al Padre. ¿Como dices: «Muéstranos al Padre»?	9 'Have I been with you al this time, Philip, and you stil do not know me? 'Anyone who has seen me hasseen the Father, so how can you say, "Show us the Father"?
10 ¿No crees que yo estoy en el Padre y que el Padre está en mí? Las palabras que digo no son mías: el Padre que habita en mí es el que hace las obras.	10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? What I say to you I do not speakof my own accord: it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his works.
11 Créanme: yo estoy en el Padre y el Padre está en mí. Créanlo, al menos, por las obras.	11 You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe iton the evidence of these works.
12 Les aseguro que el que cree en mí hará también las obras que yo hago, y aún mayores, porque yo me voy al Padre.	12 In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me wil perform the same works as I do myself, and wilperform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.
13 Y yo haré todo lo que ustedes pidan en mi Hombre, para que el Padre sea glorificado en el Hijo.	13 Whatever you ask in my name I wil do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 Si ustedes me piden algo en mi Nombre, yo lo haré.	14 If you ask me anything in my name, I wil do it.
15 Si ustedes me aman, cumplirán mis mandamientos.	15 If you love me you wil keep my commandments.
16 Y yo rogaré al Padre, y él les dará otro Paráclito para que esté siempre con ustedes:	16 I shall ask the Father, and he wil give you another Paraclete to be with you for ever,
17 el Espíritu de la Verdad, a quien el mundo no puede recibir, porque no lo ve ni lo conoce. Ustedes, en cambio, lo conocen, porque él permanece con ustedes y estará en ustedes.	17 the Spirit of truth whom the world can never accept since it neither sees nor knows him; but you knowhim, because he is with you, he is in you.
18 No los dejaré huérfanos, volveré a ustedes.	18 I shall not leave you orphans; I shall come to you.
19 Dentro de poco el mundo ya no me verá, pero ustedes sí me verán, porque yo vivo y también ustedes vivirán.	19 In a short time the world wil no longer see me; but you wil see that I live and you also wil live.
20 Aquel día comprenderán que yo estoy en mi Padre, y que ustedes están en mí y yo en ustedes.	20 On that day you wil know that I am in my Father and you in me and I in you.
21 El que recibe mis mandamientos y los cumple, ese es el que me ama; y el que me ama será amado por mi Padre, y yo lo amaré y me manifestaré a él».	21 Whoever holds to my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and whoever lovesme will be loved by my Father, and I shall love him and reveal myself to him.'
22 Judas –no el Iscariote– le dijo: «Señor, ¿por qué te vas a manifestar a nosotros y no al mundo?».	22 Judas -- not Judas Iscariot -- said to him, 'Lord, what has happened, that you intend to show yourselfto us and not to the world?'
23 Jesús le respondió: «El que me ama será fiel a mi palabra, y mi Padre lo amará; iremos a él y habitaremos en él.	23 Jesus replied: Anyone who loves me wil keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shalcome to him and make a home in him.
24 El que no me ama no es fiel a mis palabras. La palabra que ustedes oyeron no es mía, sino del Padre que me envió.	24 Anyone who does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not my own: itis the word of the Father who sent me.
25 Yo les digo estas cosas mientras permanezco con ustedes.	25 I have said these things to you while still with you;
26 Pero el Paráclito, el Espíritu Santo, que el Padre enviará en mi Nombre, les enseñará todo y les recordará lo que les he dicho.	26 but the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father wil send in my name, wil teach you everythingand remind you of al I have said to you.
27 Les dejo la paz, les doy mi paz, pero no como la da el mundo. ¡No se inquieten ni teman!	27 Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace which the world cannot give, this is mygift to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
28 Me han oído decir: «Me voy y volveré a ustedes». Si me amaran, se alegrarían de que vuelva junto al Padre, porque el Padre es más grande que yo.	28 You heard me say: I am going away and shal return. If you loved me you would be glad that I amgoing to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
29 Les he dicho esto antes que suceda, para que cuando se cumpla, ustedes crean.	29 I have told you this now, before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe.
30 Ya no hablaré mucho más con ustedes, porque está por llegar el Príncipe de este mundo: él nada puede hacer contra mí,	30 I shall not talk to you much longer, because the prince of this world is on his way. He has no powerover me,
31 pero es necesario que el mundo sepa que yo amo al Padre y obro como él me ha ordenado. Levántense, salgamos de aquí».	31 but the world must recognise that I love the Father and that I act just as the Father commanded.Come now, let us go.
