1 “En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis: celui qui passe par-dessus le mur du parc à brebis au lieu d’entrer par la porte, c’est un voleur et un bandit.	1 “Amen, amen, I say to you, he who does not enter through the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up by another way, he is a thief and a robber.
2 Celui qui entre par la porte, c’est le berger des brebis.	2 But he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 Le portier lui ouvre et les brebis reconnaissent sa voix; il appelle ses brebis chacune par son nom, et il les fait sortir.	3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.
4 Quand il a fait sortir toutes celles qui sont à lui, il marche devant elles et les brebis le suivent, car elles connaissent sa voix.	4 And when he has sent out his sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
5 Si c’est un autre, elles ne vont pas le suivre; bien mieux, elles s’enfuiront, parce qu’elles ne connaissent pas la voix de l’étranger.”	5 But they do not follow a stranger; instead they flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
6 Jésus leur donna cette comparaison, mais ils ne comprirent pas ce qu’il voulait leur dire.	6 Jesus spoke this proverb to them. But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
7 Aussi de nouveau Jésus leur dit: "En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis: je suis la porte des brebis.	7 Therefore, Jesus spoke to them again: “Amen, amen, I say to you, that I am the door of the sheep.
8 Tous ceux qui sont venus sont des voleurs et des bandits, et les brebis ne les ont pas écoutés.	8 All others, as many as have come, are thieves and robbers, and the sheep did not listen to them.
9 Je suis la porte. Celui qui entrera par moi sera sauvé; il pourra entrer et sortir, il trouvera sa nourriture.	9 I am the door. If anyone has entered through me, he will be saved. And he shall go in and go out, and he shall find pastures.
10 Le voleur ne vient que pour prendre, égorger et détruire, alors que moi je suis venu pour qu’on ait la vie, la vie en plénitude.	10 The thief does not come, except so that he may steal and slaughter and destroy. I have come so that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.
11 “Je suis le bon berger. Le bon berger donne sa vie pour les brebis.	11 I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd gives his life for his sheep.
12 Le salarié est tout différent du vrai berger; les brebis ne sont pas siennes, et lorsqu’il voit venir le loup, il s’enfuit laissant là les brebis; le loup s’en empare et les disperse.	12 But the hired hand, and whoever is not a shepherd, to whom the sheep do not belong, he sees the wolf approaching, and he departs from the sheep and flees. And the wolf ravages and scatters the sheep.
13 C’est qu’il est là seulement pour le salaire et les brebis ne l’intéressent pas.	13 And the hired hand flees, because he is a hired hand and there is no concern for the sheep within him.
14 “Je suis le bon berger et je connais les miens comme ils me connaissent,	14 I am the good Shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me,
15 tout comme le Père me connaît et moi je connais le Père. Et je donne ma vie pour les brebis.	15 just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for my sheep.
16 J’ai d’autres brebis qui ne sont pas dans ce parc. Celles-là aussi je dois aller les chercher et elles entendront mon appel; elles ne feront plus qu’un seul troupeau avec un seul berger.	16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold, and I must lead them. They shall hear my voice, and there shall be one sheepfold and one shepherd.
17 “Le Père m’aime parce que je donne ma vie pour ensuite la reprendre.	17 For this reason, the Father loves me: because I lay down my life, so that I may take it up again.
18 Personne ne me la prend: c’est moi qui la donne de moi-même. J’ai tout pouvoir pour la donner, mais aussi pour la reprendre: c’est là l’instruction que j’ai reçue de mon Père.”	18 No one takes it away from me. Instead, I lay it down of my own accord. And I have the power to lay it down. And I have the power to take it up again. This is the commandment that I have received from my Father.”
19 En entendant cela, les Juifs se divisèrent de nouveau.	19 A dissension occurred again among the Jews because of these words.
20 Plusieurs d’entre eux disaient: "Il a un démon, il est dérangé! Pourquoi restez-vous à l’écouter?”	20 Then many of them were saying: “He has a demon or he is insane. Why do you listen him?”
21 Mais d’autres disaient: "Quand on a un démon, on ne parle pas de cette façon. Et vous croyez qu’un démon peut ouvrir les yeux des aveugles?”	21 Others were saying: “These are not the words of someone who has a demon. How would a demon be able to open the eyes of the blind?”
22 On eut alors à Jérusalem la fête de la Dédicace, et c’était l’hiver.	22 Now it was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem, and it was winter.
23 Comme Jésus se promenait dans le Temple sous le portique de Salomon,	23 And Jesus was walking in the temple, in the portico of Solomon.
24 les Juifs firent cercle autour de lui. Ils lui dirent: "Jusqu’à quand vas-tu nous tenir en suspens? Si tu es le Messie, dis-le clairement.”	24 And so the Jews surrounded him and said to him: “How long will you hold our souls in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
25 Jésus leur répondit: "Je vous l’ai dit et vous ne me croyez pas: les œuvres que je fais au nom de mon Père disent clairement ce que je suis.	25 Jesus answered them: “I speak to you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in the name of my Father, these offer testimony about me.
26 Mais, comme je vous l’ai dit, vous ne croyez pas parce que vous n’êtes pas de mes brebis.	26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.
27 “Mes brebis entendent ma voix, et moi je les connais; et elles me suivent.	27 My sheep hear my voice. And I know them, and they follow me.
28 Je leur donne de vivre pour toujours: jamais elles ne périront, et personne ne les arrachera de ma main.	28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall not perish, for eternity. And no one shall seize them from my hand.
29 Ce que mon Père me donne est plus fort que tout, et personne ne peut rien arracher de la main de mon Père.	29 What my Father gave to me is greater than all, and no one is able to seize from the hand of my Father.
30 Le Père et moi, nous sommes un.”	30 I and the Father are one.”
31 De nouveau les Juifs ramassèrent des pierres pour les lui jeter.	31 Therefore, the Jews took up stones, in order to stone him.
32 Jésus leur dit: "J’ai fait, et vous avez vu, beaucoup de belles œuvres qui venaient du Père. Quelle est celle qui mérite ces pierres?”	32 Jesus answered them: “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
33 Les Juifs lui répondirent: "Ce n’est pas pour une belle œuvre que nous te lapidons, mais parce que tu blasphèmes: tu n’es qu’un homme et tu te fais Dieu.”	33 The Jews answered him: “We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy and because, though you are a man, you make yourself God.”
34 Alors Jésus leur dit: "Dans votre Loi il est écrit: Je l’ai dit, vous êtes des dieux.	34 Jesus responded to them: “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said: you are gods?’
35 On ne peut changer l’Écriture, et ici elle appelle “dieux” ceux qui recevaient cette parole de Dieu.	35 If he called those to whom the word of God was given gods, and Scripture cannot be broken,
36 Mais moi, après que le Père m’a consacré et envoyé dans le monde, vous dites que je blasphème quand je déclare: ‘Je suis Fils de Dieu’?	36 why do you say, about him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You have blasphemed,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’
37 Si je ne fais pas les œuvres de mon Père, ne me croyez pas.	37 If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe in me.
38 Mais si je les fais, croyez en moi. Si vous ne me croyez pas, croyez au moins à ces œuvres, et sachez et reconnaissez que le Père est en moi et moi dans le Père.”	38 But if I do them, even if you are not willing to believe in me, believe the works, so that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
39 De nouveau on voulut l’arrêter, mais il leur échappa.	39 Therefore, they sought to apprehend him, but he escaped from their hands.
40 Jésus passa alors de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’endroit où Jean baptisait au commencement, et il y demeura.	40 And he went again across the Jordan, to that place where John first was baptizing. And he lodged there.
41 Beaucoup de gens vinrent le trouver qui disaient: "Jean n’a fait aucun miracle, mais tout ce que Jean a dit de celui-ci s’est vérifié.”	41 And many went out to him. And they were saying: “Indeed, John accomplished no signs.
42 Et là, beaucoup crurent en lui.	42 But all things whatsoever that John said about this man were true.” And many believed in him.
