1 Parole de Yahvé qui fut adressée à Sophonie, fils de Kouchi, fils de Guédalyas, fils d’Amarya, fils de Hizkiyas, au temps de Josias, fils d’Ammon, roi de Juda.	1 The word of the LORD which came to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah.
2 J’enlèverai tout de dessus la terre - parole de Yahvé.	2 I will completely sweep away all things from the face of the earth, says the LORD.
3 J’enlèverai hommes et bêtes, j’enlèverai les oiseaux du ciel et les poissons de la mer. J’exterminerai l’homme de dessus la terre - parole de Yahvé.	3 I will sweep away man and beast, I will sweep away the birds of the sky, and the fishes of the sea. I will overthrow the wicked; I will destroy mankind from the face of the earth, says the LORD.
4 J’étendrai la main contre Juda et tous les habitants de Jérusalem, j’enlèverai de ce lieu ce qui reste du Baal et le nom des prêtres païens.	4 I will stretch out my hand against Judah, and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; I will destroy from this place the last vestige of Baal, the very names of his priests.
5 J’exterminerai ceux qui se prosternent sur les toits devant l’armée des cieux, ceux qui se prosternent et qui jurent en même temps par Yahvé et par Milkom;	5 And those who adore the host of heaven on the roofs, with those who adore the LORD but swear by Milcom;
6 ceux qui se détournent de Yahvé, qui ne le recherchent pas et ne le consultent pas.	6 And those who have fallen away from the LORD, and those who do not seek the LORD.
7 Faites silence devant le Seigneur Yahvé, car son jour est proche. Yahvé a préparé un sacrifice, il a déjà consacré ses invités.	7 Silence in the presence of the Lord GOD! for near is the day of the LORD, Yes, the LORD has prepared a slaughter feast, he has consecrated his guests.
8 Voici ce qui arrivera au jour du sacrifice de Yahvé: je demanderai des comptes aux princes, aux fils de roi et à tous ceux qui s’habillent à la mode étrangère.	8 On the day of the LORD'S slaughter feast I will punish the princes, and the king's sons, and all that dress in foreign apparel.

15 Quel jour! 17 Je mettrai les hommes dans l’angoisse, je les ferai marcher en aveugles, car ils ont péché contre Yahvé. 18 Ni leur argent ni leur or ne pourront les sauver au jour de la fureur de Yahvé.
