1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et lui dit:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 “Voici la loi pour le jour de la purification du lépreux, quand on le conduit au prêtre.	2 This is the rite of a leper, when he is to be cleansed: he shall be brought to the priest:
3 Le prêtre sortira du camp pour l’examiner et devra vérifier que la plaie de lèpre est guérie.	3 Who going out of the camp when he shall And that the leprosy is cleansed,
4 Alors le prêtre ordonnera qu’on prenne pour celui qui doit être purifié, deux oiseaux purs, vivants, du bois de cèdre, du cramoisi et de l’hysope.	4 Shall command him that is to be purified, to offer for himself two living sparrows, which it is lawful to eat, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.
5 Le prêtre ordonnera d’immoler le premier oiseau sur un vase d’argile, au-dessus d’une eau vive.	5 And he shall command one of the sparrows to be immolated in an earthen vessel over living waters:
6 Il prendra l’oiseau encore vivant, le bois de cèdre, le cramoisi et l’hysope, et il plongera le tout dans le sang de l’oiseau immolé au-dessus de l’eau vive.	6 But the other that is alive he shall dip, with the cedar wood, and the scarlet and the hyssop, in the blood of the sparrow that is immolated:
7 Ensuite il aspergera sept fois celui qui doit être purifié de la lèpre; il le déclarera pur et lâchera l’oiseau vivant en pleine campagne.	7 Wherewith he shall sprinkle him that is to be cleansed seven times, that he may be rightly purified: and he shall let go the living sparrow, that it may fly into the field.
8 Celui qui aura été purifié lavera ses vêtements, rasera tout son poil et se baignera dans l’eau: alors il sera pur et il pourra rentrer au camp. Mais il devra d’abord rester sept jours hors de sa tente.	8 And when the man hath washed his clothes, he shall shave all the hair of his body, and shall be washed with water: and being purified, he shall enter into the camp, yet so that he tarry without his own tent seven days:
9 Le septième jour il se rasera de nouveau: il rasera sa tête, son menton et ses sourcils. Il rasera tout son poil, lavera ses vêtements et se baignera dans l’eau: il sera pur.	9 And on the seventh day he shall shave the hair of his head, and his beard and his eyebrows, and the hair of all his body. And having washed again his clothes, and his body,
10 Le huitième jour il prendra deux agneaux sans défaut, une petite brebis née dans l’année, sans défaut, trois mesures de fleur de farine arrosée d’huile pour l’offrande, et une mesure d’huile.	10 On the eighth day he shall take two lambs without blemish, and an ewe of a year old without blemish, and three tenths of flour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil apart.
11 Le prêtre qui fait la purification présentera l’homme qui vient pour se purifier, ainsi que ses offrandes, devant Yahvé à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.	11 And when the priest that purifieth the man, hath presented him, and all these things before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony,
12 Le prêtre prendra alors le premier agneau et la mesure d’huile; il les offrira en sacrifice de réparation et les balancera solennellement devant Yahvé.	12 He shall take a. lamb, and offer it for a trespass offering with the sextary of oil: and having offered all before the Lord,
13 Il immolera l’agneau à l’endroit où l’on immole les sacrifices pour le péché et l’holocauste, dans un lieu pur, car la victime de réparation est pour le prêtre, comme le sacrifice pour le péché: c’est une chose très sainte.	13 He shall immolate the lamb, where the victim for sin is wont to be immolated, and the holocaust, that is, in the holy place: for as that which is for sin, so also the victim for a trespass offering pertaineth to the priest: it is holy of holies.
14 Le prêtre prendra alors du sang du sacrifice de réparation, il en mettra sur l’oreille droite de celui qui vient pour être purifié, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.	14 And the priest taking of the blood of the victim that was immolated for trespass, shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot:
15 Le prêtre prendra ensuite la mesure d’huile et il en versera dans sa main gauche.	15 And he shall pour of the sextary of oil into his own left. hand,
16 Il trempera son doigt de la main droite dans l’huile qui est dans sa main gauche et, avec son doigt, il fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé.	16 And shall dip his right finger in it, and sprinkle it before the Lord seven times.
17 Avec le reste de l’huile qui est dans sa main, le prêtre fera une onction sur l’oreille droite de celui qui se purifie, par dessus le sang du sacrifice de réparation.	17 And the rest of the oil in his left band, he shall pour upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot, and upon the blood that was shed for trespass,
18 Et ce qui reste d’huile dans la main du prêtre, il le mettra sur la tête de celui qui se purifie en demandant pour lui miséricorde.	18 And upon his head.
19 Le prêtre fera alors le rite de l’expiation et de la réparation sur celui qui se purifie de son impureté, après quoi il immolera l’holocauste.	19 And he shall pray for him before the Lord, and shall offer the sacrifice for sin: then shall he immolate the holocaust,
20 Le prêtre fera fumer l’holocauste et l’offrande sur l’autel, puis il demandera pour lui miséricorde: alors il sera pur.	20 And put it on the altar with the libations thereof, and the man shall be rightly cleansed.
21 La personne pauvre, qui n’a que peu de moyens, prendra un seul agneau pour le sacrifice de réparation: ce sera une offrande balancée, pour la réparation de son impureté. Elle ne prendra qu’une mesure de fleur de farine pétrie dans l’huile pour l’offrande, une mesure d’huile,	21 But if he be poor, and his hand cannot find the things aforesaid: he shall take a lamb for an offering for trespass, that the priest may pray for him, and a tenth part of hour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil,
22 deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons selon ses moyens: l’un pour le sacrifice pour le péché, l’autre pour l’holocauste.	22 And two turtles or two young pigeons, of which one may be for sin, and the other for a holocaust:
23 Le huitième jour il les apportera au prêtre pour sa purification, à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous, devant Yahvé.	23 And he shall offer them on the eighth day of his purification to the priest, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony before the Lord.
24 Alors le prêtre prendra l’agneau pour le sacrifice de réparation et la mesure d’huile, et il les balancera devant Yahvé.	24 And the priest receiving the lamb for trespass, and the sextary of oil, shall elevate them together.
25 Après avoir immolé l’agneau du sacrifice de réparation, le prêtre prendra du sang du sacrifice de réparation et en mettra sur l’oreille droite de celui qui vient se purifier, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.	25 And the lamb being immolated, he shall put of the blood thereof upon the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot:
26 Le prêtre versera ensuite de l’huile dans sa main gauche,	26 But he shall pour part of the oil into his own left hand,
27 il prendra avec le doigt de sa main droite de l’huile dans sa main gauche et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé.	27 And dipping the finger of his right hand in it, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord:
28 Le prêtre mettra de l’huile qui est dans sa main sur l’oreille droite de celui qui vient se purifier, sur le pouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit, à l’endroit où il a déjà mis le sang de la victime de réparation.	28 And he shall touch the tip of the right ear of him that is cleansed, and the thumb of his right hand and the great toe of his right foot, in the place of the blood that was shed for trespass.
29 Ce qui restera d’huile dans la main du prêtre, il la mettra sur la tête de celui qui vient se purifier et demandera pour lui miséricorde.	29 And the other part of the oil that is in his left hand, he shall pour upon the head of the purified person, that he may appease the Lord for him.
30 Il offrira l’une des tourterelles ou l’un des jeunes pigeons qu’il aura amenés en sacrifice pour le péché,	30 And he shall offer a turtle, or young pigeon,
31 l’autre sera immolé en holocauste, avec l’offrande. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera devant Yahvé l’expiation pour celui qui vient se purifier.	31 One for trespass, and the other for a holocaust, with their libations.
32 Voilà la loi pour la purification du lépreux dont les moyens sont modestes.”	32 This is the sacrifice of a leper, that is not able to have all things that appertain to his cleansing.
33 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron et leur dit:	33 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
34 “Lorsque vous entrerez dans le pays de Canaan et que vous le posséderez, si je frappe de la lèpre une maison du pays que vous possédez,	34 When you shall be come into the land of Chanaan, which I will give you for a possession, if there be the plague of leprosy in a house,
35 le propriétaire de la maison viendra dire au prêtre: J’ai vu comme une tache de lèpre dans la maison.	35 He whose house it is, shall go and tell the priest, saying: It seemeth to me, that there is the plague of leprosy in my house,
36 Le prêtre, avant d’entrer, ordonnera de vider toute la maison pour que rien de ce qui est dedans ne soit impur. Ensuite le prêtre entrera pour voir la maison.	36 And he shall command, that they carry forth all things out of the house, before he go into it, and see whether it have the leprosy, lest all things become unclean that are in the house. And afterwards he shall go in to view the leprosy of the house.
37 Il regardera la tache et, si cette tache fait sur les murs de la maison, comme des crevasses profondes vertes ou rouges,	37 And if he see in the walls thereof as it were little dints, disfigured with paleness or redness, and lower than all the rest,
38 il fermera la maison pour sept jours.	38 He shall go out of the door of the house, and forthwith shut it up seven days,
39 Le septième jour le prêtre reviendra et examinera: si la tache s’est développée sur les murs de la maison,	39 And returning on the seventh day, he shall look upon it. If he find that the leprosy is spread,
40 le prêtre ordonnera d’enlever toutes les pierres à l’endroit de la tache et de les jeter hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.	40 He shall command, that the stones wherein the leprosy is, be taken out, and cast without the city into an unclean place:
41 Il fera ensuite gratter tout l’intérieur de la maison. On répandra la poussière que l’on aura grattée à l’extérieur de la ville dans un lieu impur,	41 And that the house be scraped on the inside round about, and the dust of the scraping be scattered without the city into an unclean place:
42 on remplacera les pierres qu’on a enlevées par de nouvelles pierres, on prendra un nouvel enduit et on en crépira la maison.	42 And that other stones be laid in the place of them that were taken away, and the house be plastered with other mortar.
43 Mais voilà: la tache recommence à se développer dans la maison; pourtant on a enlevé les pierres et on a gratté la maison, on a mis un nouvel enduit.	43 But if, after the stones be taken out, and the dust scraped off, and it be plastered with other earth,
44 Dans ce cas le prêtre entrera pour examiner la maison: si la tache s’est développée, c’est une lèpre caractérisée dans la maison: elle est impure.	44 The priest going in perceive that the leprosy is returned, and the walls full of spots, it is a lasting leprosy, and the house is unclean:
45 Alors on démolira la maison: ses pierres, ses charpentes et tout le mortier de la maison seront jetés hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.	45 And they shall destroy it forthwith, and shall cast the stones and timber thereof, and all the dust without the town into an unclean place.
46 Celui qui sera entré dans la maison pendant le temps où elle a été condamnée, sera impur jusqu’au soir.	46 He that entereth into the house when it is shut, shall be unclean until evening,
47 Celui qui aura dormi ou mangé dans la maison, lavera ses habits.	47 And he that sleepeth in it, and eateth any thing, shall wash his clothes.
48 Si le prêtre entre et voit que, depuis le nouvel enduit, la tache ne s’est pas développée dans la maison, il déclarera la maison pure: la tache est guérie.	48 But if the priest going in perceive that the leprosy is not spread in the house, after it was plastered again, he shall purify it, it being cured,
49 Pour faire le rite de réparation pour la maison, le prêtre prendra deux oiseaux, du bois de cèdre, du cramoisi et de l’hysope.	49 And for the purification thereof he shall take two sparrows, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
50 Il immolera le premier oiseau sur un vase d’argile au-dessus d’une eau vive.	50 And having immolated one sparrow In an earthen vessel over living waters,
51 Il prendra ensuite le bois de cèdre, l’hysope, le cramoisi et l’oiseau vivant; il les plongera dans le sang de l’oiseau immolé au-dessus de l’eau vive et, par sept fois, il fera l’aspersion de la maison.	51 He shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living sparrow, and shall dip all in the blood of the sparrow that is immolated, and in the living water, and he shall sprinkle the house seven times:
52 Il fera le rite de la réparation pour la maison avec le sang de l’oiseau et avec l’eau vive, avec l’oiseau vivant, le bois de cèdre, l’hysope et le cramoisi.	52 And shall purify it as well with the blood of the sparrow, as with the living water, and with the living sparrow, and with the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet.
53 Il lâchera alors l’oiseau vivant en dehors de la ville, en pleine campagne, et c’est ainsi qu’il fera le rite de réparation pour la maison: alors elle sera pure.	53 And when he hath let go the sparrow to fly freely away into the field, he shall pray for the house, and it shall be rightly cleansed.
54 Voilà la loi concernant la tache de lèpre,	54 This is the law of every kind of leprosy and stroke.
55 la lèpre du vêtement ou de la maison,	55 Of the leprosy of garments and houses,
56 qu’il s’agisse de la tumeur, des plaques ou des taches;	56 Of a scar and of blisters breaking out, of a shining spot, and when the colours are diversely changed:
57 ainsi on saura le jour où l’on est impur et le jour où l’on est pur. C’est la loi sur la lèpre.”	57 That it may be known when a thing is clean or unclean.
