1 Questo è il libro della generazione di Iesù Cristo, figliuolo di David, figliuolo di Abraam.	1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
2 Abraam generò Isaac; Isaac generò Iacob; Iacob generò Iuda e' suoi fratelli.	2 Abraham begot Isaac. And Isaac begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Judas and his brethren.
3 Iuda generò Fares e Zara, di (una che ebbe nome) Tamar; Fares generò Esron; Esron generò Aram.	3 And Judas begot Phares and Zara of Thamar. And Phares begot Esron. And Esron begot Aram.
4 Aram generò Aminadab; Aminadab generò Naasson; Naasson generò Salmon.	4 And Aram begot Aminadab. And Aminadab begot Naasson. And Naasson begot Salmon.
5 Salmon generò Booz, di Raab; Booz generò Obed, di (una che ebbe nome) Rut; Obed generò Iesse; Iesse generò David.	5 And Salmon begot Booz of Rahab. And Booz begot Obed of Ruth. And Obed begot Jesse.
6 David generò Salomon, di quella femina che fu di Uria.	6 And Jesse begot David the king. And David the king begot Solomon, of her that had been the wife of Urias.
7 Salomon generò Roboam; Roboam generò Abia; Abia generò Asa.	7 And Solomon begot Roboam. And Roboam begot Abia. And Abia begot Asa.
8 Asa generò Iosafat; Iosafat generò Ioram; Ioram generò Ozia.	8 And Asa begot Josaphat. And Josaphat begot Joram. And Joram begot Ozias.
9 Ozia generò Ioatam; Ioatam generò Acaz; Acaz generò Ezechia.	9 And Ozias begot Joatham. And Joatham begot Achaz. And Achaz begot Ezechias.
10 Ezechia generò Manasse; Manasse generò Amon; Amon generò Iosia.	10 And Ezechias begot Manasses. And Manesses begot Amon. And Amon begot Josias.
11 Iosia generò Ieconia e' suoi fratelli nella transmigrazione di Babilonia.	11 And Josias begot Jechonias and his brethren in the transmigration of Babylon.
12 E dopo la transmigrazione di Babilonia, Iecomia generò Salatiel; Salatiel generò Zorobabel.	12 And after the transmigration of Babylon, Jechonias begot Salathiel. And Salathiel begot Zorobabel.
13 Zerobabel generò Abiud; Abiud generò Eliacim; Eliacim generò Azor.	13 And Zorobabel begot Abiud. And Abiud begot Eliacim. And Eliacim begot Azor.
14 Azor generò Sadoc; Sadoc generò Achim; Achim generò Eliud.	14 And Azor begot Sadoc. And Sadoc begot Achim. And Achim begot Eliud.
15 Eliud generò Eleazar; Eleazar generò Matan; Matan generò Iacob.	15 And Eliud begot Eleazar. And Eleazar begot Mathan. And Mathan begot Jacob.
16 Iacob generò Iosef, marito di Maria, deila qual è nato Iesù, ch' è chiamato Cristo.	16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 Sì che da Abraam insino a David furono quattordici generazioni; e da David insino alla transmigrazione di Babilonia, quattordici generazioni; e dalla transmigrazione di Babilonia insino a Cristo, quattordici generazioni.	17 So all the generations, from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
18 E tale era la generazione di Cristo: essendo desponsata Maria a Iosef, innanzi che si raunassero insieme, venne lo Spirito Santo, e intrò nel ventre suo.	18 Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.
19 E Iosef, suo marito, essendo uomo giusto, non la voleva menare, ma occultamente volevala lasciare.	19 Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately.
20 E stando in questo pensiero, l' angelo di Dio li apparve in sogno, e dissegli: Iosef, figliuolo di David, non aver paura di tor Maria per tua sposa; imperò che quel che in lei è nasciuto, gli è del Spirito Santo.	20 But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.
21 Onde ella parturirà uno figliuolo, il qual chiamerai per nome Iesù; ed egli farà salvo il popolo suo da' suoi peccati.	21 And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name JESUS. For he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Tutto questo fu fatto, acciò fusse adempiuto quel ch' era stato detto dal Signore per il profeta, dicendo:	22 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying:
23 Ecco che la vergine concepirà nel ventre, e parturirà il figliuolo; e chiamerassi il suo nome Emanuel, ch' è interpretato: CON NOI DIO.	23 Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Ma levandosi Iosef dal sonno, fece come gli comandò l'angelo del Signore, e tolse la mogliere sua.	24 And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife.
25 E non la conosceva insino che lei parturì il suo figliuolo primogenito; e chiamò il suo nome Iesù.	25 And he knew her not till she brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
