1 Pietro e Giovanni solevano salire al tempio per la preghiera dell'ora nona.	1 Now Peter and John went up to the temple at the ninth hour of prayer.
2 Ora, c'era un uomo zoppo fin dalla nascita che solevano portare e deporre ogni giorno presso la porta del tempio detta Bella, per chiedere l'elemosina a quelli che entravano nel tempio.	2 And a certain man, who was lame from his mother’s womb, was being carried in. They would lay him every day at the gate of the temple, which is called the Beautiful, so that he might request alms from those entering into the temple.
3 Vedendo Pietro e Giovanni che stavano per entrare nel tempio, incominciò a chiedere loro l'elemosina.	3 And this man, when he had seen Peter and John beginning to enter the temple, was begging, so that he might receive alms.
4 Allora Pietro, fissandolo negli occhi con Giovanni, disse: "Guarda verso di noi".	4 Then Peter and John, gazing at him, said, “Look at us.”
5 Quello li guardò attentamente, attendendosi di ricevere da loro qualcosa.	5 And he looked intently at them, hoping that he might receive something from them.
6 Ma Pietro gli disse: "Argento e oro io non ho, ma quel che possiedo te lo do: nel nome di Gesù Cristo, il Nazareno, cammina!".	6 But Peter said: “Silver and gold is not mine. But what I have, I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise up and walk.”
7 E presolo per la mano destra lo sollevò: all'istante gli si rinvigorirono i piedi e le caviglie,	7 And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up. And immediately his legs and feet were strengthened.
8 con un balzo saltò in piedi e si mise a camminare ed entrò con essi nel tempio camminando, saltando e lodando Dio.	8 And leaping up, he stood and walked around. And he entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
9 E tutto il popolo lo vide che camminava e lodava Dio:	9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
10 e conoscevano che era proprio quello che stava seduto abitualmente presso la porta Bella del tempio a chiedere l'elemosina. Erano pieni di stupore e di meraviglia per ciò che gli era accaduto.	10 And they recognized him, that he was the same one who was sitting for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 Poiché quegli si teneva stretto a Pietro e a Giovanni, tutto il popolo corse verso di loro sotto il portico detto di Salomone, con grande stupore.	11 Then, as he held on to Peter and John, all the people ran to them at the portico, which is called Solomon’s, in astonishment.
12 Pietro, vedendo ciò, prese a parlare al popolo: "Uomini d'Israele, perché vi meravigliate di questo fatto? Perché guardate verso di noi, come se per nostra forza o per nostra bontà avessimo fatto camminare quest'uomo?	12 But Peter, seeing this, responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this? Or why do you stare at us, as if it were by our own strength or power that we caused this man to walk?
13 Il Dio di Abramo, d'Isacco e di Giacobbe, il Dio dei nostri padri ha glorificato il suo servo Gesù, che voi avete consegnato e rinnegato davanti a Pilato, mentre egli aveva deciso di liberarlo.	13 The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you, indeed, handed over and denied before the face of Pilate, when he was giving judgment to release him.
14 Voi avete rinnegato il santo e il giusto, avete chiesto che vi fosse fatta grazia di un assassino	14 Then you denied the Holy and Just One, and petitioned for a murderous man to be given to you.
15 e avete ucciso l'autore della vita. Ma Dio lo ha risuscitato dai morti e noi ne siamo testimoni.	15 Truly, it was the Author of Life whom you put to death, whom God raised from the dead, to whom we are witnesses.
16 E' per aver avuto fede in lui che quest'uomo, che voi vedete e conoscete, è stato risanato in virtù del suo nome. Sì, la fede, che è già suo dono, ha dato a costui la piena guarigione di fronte a tutti voi.	16 And by faith in his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, has confirmed his name. And faith through him has given this man complete health in the sight of you all.
17 Pertanto, fratelli, io so che lo avete fatto per ignoranza, come anche i vostri capi.	17 And now, brothers, I know that you did this through ignorance, just as your leaders also did.
18 Ma Dio ha così adempiuto ciò che egli aveva preannunciato per bocca di tutti i profeti, ossia che il suo Cristo avrebbe sofferto.	18 But in this way God has fulfilled the things that he announced beforehand through the mouth of all the Prophets: that his Christ would suffer.
19 Pentitevi dunque e convertitevi, perché siano cancellati i vostri peccati,	19 Therefore, repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away.
20 cosicché venga il tempo del refrigerio da parte del Signore ed egli mandi quel Gesù che è stato costituito vostro Messia.	20 And then, when the time of consolation will have arrived from the presence of the Lord, he will send the One who was foretold to you, Jesus Christ,
21 E' necessario che egli stia in cielo fino al momento della restaurazione di tutte le cose di cui Dio ha parlato fin dai tempi antichi per bocca dei suoi santi profeti.	21 whom heaven certainly must take up, until the time of the restoration of all things, which God has spoken of by the mouth of his holy prophets, from ages past.
22 Mosè disse: Il Signore Dio vostro vi susciterà di tra i vostri fratelli un profeta come me: lo ascolterete in tutto ciò che vi dirà.	22 Indeed, Moses said: ‘For the Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet for you from your brothers, one like me; the same shall you listen to according to everything whatsoever that he shall speak to you.
23 E chiunque non avrà ascoltato quel profeta, sarà sterminato di mezzo al popolo.	23 And this shall be: every soul who will not listen to that Prophet shall be exterminated from the people.’
24 E tutti i profeti, da Samuele in poi, tutti quanti hanno parlato, hanno anche preannunciato questi giorni.	24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and thereafter, have announced these days.
25 Voi siete i figli dei profeti e del patto che Dio ha concluso con i vostri padri, quando disse ad Abramo: Nella tua discendenza saranno benedette tutte le nazioni della terra.	25 You are sons of the prophets and of the testament which God has appointed for our fathers, saying to Abraham: ‘And by your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’
26 A voi per primi Dio, risuscitando il suo servo, lo ha inviato a benedirvi, per distogliere ciascuno dalle vostre malvagità".	26 God raised up his Son and sent him first to you, to bless you, so that each one may turn himself away from his wickedness.”
