1 Pietro e Giovanni solevano salire al tempio per la preghiera dell'ora nona.	1 Now Peter and John went up into the temple at the ninth hour of prayer.
2 Ora, c'era un uomo zoppo fin dalla nascita che solevano portare e deporre ogni giorno presso la porta del tempio detta Bella, per chiedere l'elemosina a quelli che entravano nel tempio.	2 And a certain man who was lame from his mother's womb, was carried: whom they laid every day at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, that he might ask alms of them that went into the temple.
3 Vedendo Pietro e Giovanni che stavano per entrare nel tempio, incominciò a chiedere loro l'elemosina.	3 He, when he had seen Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked to receive an alms.
4 Allora Pietro, fissandolo negli occhi con Giovanni, disse: "Guarda verso di noi".	4 But Peter with John fastening his eyes upon him, said: Look upon us.
5 Quello li guardò attentamente, attendendosi di ricevere da loro qualcosa.	5 But he looked earnestly upon them, hoping that he should receive something of them.
6 Ma Pietro gli disse: "Argento e oro io non ho, ma quel che possiedo te lo do: nel nome di Gesù Cristo, il Nazareno, cammina!".	6 But Peter said: Silver and gold I have none; but what I have, I give thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise, and walk.
7 E presolo per la mano destra lo sollevò: all'istante gli si rinvigorirono i piedi e le caviglie,	7 And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up, and forthwith his feet and soles received strength.
8 con un balzo saltò in piedi e si mise a camminare ed entrò con essi nel tempio camminando, saltando e lodando Dio.	8 And he leaping up, stood, and walked, and went in with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 E tutto il popolo lo vide che camminava e lodava Dio:	9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
10 e conoscevano che era proprio quello che stava seduto abitualmente presso la porta Bella del tempio a chiedere l'elemosina. Erano pieni di stupore e di meraviglia per ciò che gli era accaduto.	10 And they knew him, that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beartiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.
11 Poiché quegli si teneva stretto a Pietro e a Giovanni, tutto il popolo corse verso di loro sotto il portico detto di Salomone, con grande stupore.	11 And as he held Peter and John, all the people ran to them to the porch which is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
12 Pietro, vedendo ciò, prese a parlare al popolo: "Uomini d'Israele, perché vi meravigliate di questo fatto? Perché guardate verso di noi, come se per nostra forza o per nostra bontà avessimo fatto camminare quest'uomo?	12 But Peter seeing, made answer to the people: Ye men of Israel, why wonder you at this? or why look you upon us, as if by our strength or power we had made this man to walk?
13 Il Dio di Abramo, d'Isacco e di Giacobbe, il Dio dei nostri padri ha glorificato il suo servo Gesù, che voi avete consegnato e rinnegato davanti a Pilato, mentre egli aveva deciso di liberarlo.	13 The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released.
14 Voi avete rinnegato il santo e il giusto, avete chiesto che vi fosse fatta grazia di un assassino	14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you.
15 e avete ucciso l'autore della vita. Ma Dio lo ha risuscitato dai morti e noi ne siamo testimoni.	15 But the author of life you killed, whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.
16 E' per aver avuto fede in lui che quest'uomo, che voi vedete e conoscete, è stato risanato in virtù del suo nome. Sì, la fede, che è già suo dono, ha dato a costui la piena guarigione di fronte a tutti voi.	16 And in the faith of his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, hath his name strengthened; and the faith which is by him, hath given this perfect soundness in the sight of you all.
17 Pertanto, fratelli, io so che lo avete fatto per ignoranza, come anche i vostri capi.	17 And now, brethren, I know that you did it through ignorance, as did also your rulers.
18 Ma Dio ha così adempiuto ciò che egli aveva preannunciato per bocca di tutti i profeti, ossia che il suo Cristo avrebbe sofferto.	18 But those things which God before had shewed by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
19 Pentitevi dunque e convertitevi, perché siano cancellati i vostri peccati,	19 Be penitent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.
20 cosicché venga il tempo del refrigerio da parte del Signore ed egli mandi quel Gesù che è stato costituito vostro Messia.	20 That when the times of refreshment shall come from the presence of the Lord, and he shall send him who hath been preached unto you, Jesus Christ,
21 E' necessario che egli stia in cielo fino al momento della restaurazione di tutte le cose di cui Dio ha parlato fin dai tempi antichi per bocca dei suoi santi profeti.	21 Whom heaven indeed must receive, until the times of the restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets, from the beginning of the world.
22 Mosè disse: Il Signore Dio vostro vi susciterà di tra i vostri fratelli un profeta come me: lo ascolterete in tutto ciò che vi dirà.	22 For Moses said: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me: him you shall hear according to all things whatsoever he shall speak to you.
23 E chiunque non avrà ascoltato quel profeta, sarà sterminato di mezzo al popolo.	23 And it shall be, that every soul which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 E tutti i profeti, da Samuele in poi, tutti quanti hanno parlato, hanno anche preannunciato questi giorni.	24 And all the prophets, from Samuel and afterwards, who have spoken, have told of these days.
25 Voi siete i figli dei profeti e del patto che Dio ha concluso con i vostri padri, quando disse ad Abramo: Nella tua discendenza saranno benedette tutte le nazioni della terra.	25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the testament which God made to our fathers, saying to Abraham: And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 A voi per primi Dio, risuscitando il suo servo, lo ha inviato a benedirvi, per distogliere ciascuno dalle vostre malvagità".	26 To you first God, raising up his Son, hath sent him to bless you; that every one may convert himself from his wickedness.
