1 Corinthians 12

1 Now concerning spiritual things, I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers.	1 Acerca de los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que sigáis en la ignorancia.
2 You know that when you were Gentiles, you approached mute idols, doing what you were led to do.	2 Sabéis que cuando erais gentiles, os sentíais impulsados a correr tras los ídolos mudos.
3 Because of this, I would have you know that no one speaking in the Spirit of God utters a curse against Jesus. And no one is able to say that Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit.	3 Por ello os hago saber que nadie que hable por el Espíritu de Dios dice: «¡Anatema sea Jesús!»; y nadie puede decir: «¡Jesús es Señor!», sino por el Espíritu Santo.
4 Truly, there are diverse graces, but the same Spirit.	4 Y hay diversidad de carismas, pero un mismo Espíritu;
5 And there are diverse ministries, but the same Lord.	5 hay diversidad de ministerios, pero un mismo Señor;
6 And there are diverse works, but the same God, who works everything in everyone.	6 y hay diversidad de actuaciones, pero un mismo Dios que obra todo en todos.
7 However, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one toward what is beneficial.	7 Pero a cada cual se le otorga la manifestación del Espíritu para el bien común.
8 Certainly, to one, through the Spirit, is given words of wisdom; but to another, according to the same Spirit, words of knowledge;	8 Y así uno recibe del Espíritu el hablar con sabiduría; otro, el hablar con inteligencia, según el mismo Espíritu.
9 to another, in the same Spirit, faith; to another, in the one Spirit, the gift of healing;	9 Hay quien, por el mismo Espíritu, recibe el don de la fe; y otro, por el mismo Espíritu, don de curar.
10 to another, miraculous works; to another, prophecy; to another, the discernment of spirits; to another, different kinds of languages; to another, the interpretation of words.	10 A este se le ha concedido hacer milagros; a aquel, profetizar. A otro, distinguir los buenos y malos espíritus. A uno, la diversidad de lenguas; a otro, el don de interpretarlas.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one according to his will.	11 El mismo y único Espíritu obra todo esto, repartiendo a cada uno en particular como él quiere.
12 For just as the body is one, and yet has many parts, so all the parts of the body, though they are many, are only one body. So also is Christ.	12 Pues, lo mismo que el cuerpo es uno y tiene muchos miembros, y todos los miembros del cuerpo, a pesar de ser muchos, son un solo cuerpo, así es también Cristo.
13 And indeed, in one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether servant or free. And we all drank in the one Spirit.	13 Pues todos nosotros, judíos y griegos, esclavos y libres, hemos sido bautizados en un mismo Espíritu, para formar un solo cuerpo. Y todos hemos bebido de un solo Espíritu.
14 For the body, too, is not one part, but many.	14 Pues el cuerpo no lo forma un solo miembro, sino muchos.
15 If the foot were to say, “Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body,” would it then not be of the body?	15 Si dijera el pie: «Puesto que no soy mano, no formo parte del cuerpo», ¿dejaría por eso de ser parte del cuerpo?
16 And if the ear were to say, “Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body,” would it then not be of the body?	16 Y si el oído dijera: «Puesto que no soy ojo, no formo parte del cuerpo», ¿dejaría por eso de ser parte del cuerpo?
17 If the whole body were the eye, how would it hear? If the whole were hearing, how would it smell?	17 Si el cuerpo entero fuera ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído?; si fuera todo oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?
18 But instead, God has placed the parts, each one of them, in the body, just as it has pleased him.	18 Pues bien, Dios distribuyó cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo como quiso.
19 So if they were all one part, how would it be a body?	19 Si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?
20 But instead, there are many parts, indeed, yet one body.	20 Sin embargo, aunque es cierto que los miembros son muchos, el cuerpo es uno solo.
21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need for your works.” And again, the head cannot say to the feet, “You are of no use to me.”	21 El ojo no puede decir a la mano: «No te necesito»; y la cabeza no puede decir a los pies: «No os necesito».
22 In fact, so much more necessary are those parts of the body which seem to be weaker.	22 Sino todo lo contrario, los miembros que parecen más débiles son necesarios.
23 And though we consider certain parts of the body to be less noble, we surround these with more abundant dignity, and so, those parts which are less presentable end up with more abundant respect.	23 Y los miembros del cuerpo que nos parecen más despreciables los rodeamos de mayor respeto; y los menos decorosos los tratamos con más decoro;
24 However, our presentable parts have no such need, since God has tempered the body together, distributing the more abundant honor to that which has the need,	24 mientras que los más decorosos no lo necesitan. Pues bien, Dios organizó el cuerpo dando mayor honor a lo que carece de él,
25 so that there might be no schism in the body, but instead the parts themselves might take care of one another.	25 para que así no haya división en el cuerpo, sino que más bien todos los miembros se preocupen por igual unos de otros.
26 And so, if one part suffers anything, all the parts suffer with it. Or, if one part finds glory, all the parts rejoice with it.	26 Y si un miembro sufre, todos sufren con él; si un miembro es honrado, todos se alegran con él.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and parts like any part.	27 Pues bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno es un miembro.
28 And indeed, God has established a certain order in the Church: first Apostles, second Prophets, third Teachers, next miracle-workers, and then the grace of healing, of helping others, of governing, of different kinds of languages, and of the interpretation of words.	28 Pues en la Iglesia Dios puso en primer lugar a los apóstoles; en segundo lugar, a los profetas; en el tercero, a los maestros; después, los milagros; después el carisma de curaciones, la beneficencia, el gobierno, la diversidad de lenguas.
29 Are all Apostles? Are all Prophets? Are all Teachers?	29 ¿Acaso son todos apóstoles? ¿O todos son profetas? ¿O todos maestros? ¿O hacen todos milagros?
30 Are all workers of miracles? Do all have the grace of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?	30 ¿Tienen todos don para curar? ¿Hablan todos en lenguas o todos las interpretan?
31 But be zealous for the better charisms. And I reveal to you a yet more excellent way.	31 Ambicionad los carismas mayores. Y aún os voy a mostrar un camino más excelente.
