Psalms 114

1 Alleluia. I have loved: therefore, the Lord will heed the voice of my prayer.	1 Amo, perchè il Signore ascolta la voce della mia preghiera.
2 For he has inclined his ear to me. And in my days, I will call upon him.	2 Perchè piega il suo orecchio verso di me. Io lo invocherò per tutta la mia vita.
3 The sorrows of death have surrounded me, and the perils of Hell have found me. I have found tribulation and sorrow.	3 Mi avevan circondato, i dolori di morte, mi ero trovato nei pericoli dell'inferno, mi eran venuti addosso tribolazioni e affanni,
4 And so, I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, free my soul.	4 Ed io invocai il nome del Signore. « O Signore, salva l'anima mia! »
5 Merciful is the Lord, and just. And our God is compassionate.	5 Il Signore è misericordioso e giusto, il nostro Dio è pietoso,
6 The Lord is the keeper of little ones. I was humbled, and he freed me.	6 Il Signore protegge i piccoli: ero ridotto a misero stato ed Egli mi ha soccorso.
7 Turn again, my soul, to your rest. For the Lord has done good to you.	7 Torna, anima mia, al tuo riposo, perché il Signore t'ha fatto del bene.
8 For he has rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from slipping.	8 Dacché Egli ha preservata l'anima mia dalla morte, gli occhi miei dalle lacrime, i mie piedi dalle cadute,
9 I will please the Lord in the land of the living.	9 Procurerò di piacere al Signore nella terra dei viventi.
