Alleluia. Praise the Lord, children. Praise the name of the Lord.1 Al eluia! How blessed is anyone who fears Yahweh, who delights in his commandments!
Blessed is the name of the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.2 His descendants shal be powerful on earth, the race of the honest shal receive blessings:
From the rising of the sun, even to its setting, praiseworthy is the name of the Lord.3 Riches and wealth for his family; his uprightness stands firm for ever.
The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory is high above the heavens.4 For the honest he shines as a lamp in the dark, generous, tender-hearted, and upright.
Who is like the Lord, our God, who dwells on high,5 Al goes wel for one who lends generously, who is honest in al his dealing;
and who gazes upon the humble things in heaven and on earth?6 for al time to come he wil not stumble, for al time to come the upright wil be remembered.
He lifts up the needy from the ground, and he urges the poor away from filth,7 Bad news holds no fears for him, firm is his heart, trusting in Yahweh.
so that he may place him with the leaders, with the leaders of his people.8 His heart held steady, he has no fears, til he can gloat over his enemies.
He causes a barren woman to live in a house, as the joyful mother of sons.9 To the needy he gives without stint, his uprightness stands firm for ever; his reputation is founded onstrength.
The wicked are vexed at the sight, they grind their teeth and waste away. The desires of the wickedwil be frustrated.
