Alleluia. Praise the Lord, children. Praise the name of the Lord. | 1 Al eluia! How blessed is anyone who fears Yahweh, who delights in his commandments! |
Blessed is the name of the Lord, from this time forward and even forever. | 2 His descendants shal be powerful on earth, the race of the honest shal receive blessings: |
From the rising of the sun, even to its setting, praiseworthy is the name of the Lord. | 3 Riches and wealth for his family; his uprightness stands firm for ever. |
The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory is high above the heavens. | 4 For the honest he shines as a lamp in the dark, generous, tender-hearted, and upright. |
Who is like the Lord, our God, who dwells on high, | 5 Al goes wel for one who lends generously, who is honest in al his dealing; |
and who gazes upon the humble things in heaven and on earth? | 6 for al time to come he wil not stumble, for al time to come the upright wil be remembered. |
He lifts up the needy from the ground, and he urges the poor away from filth, | 7 Bad news holds no fears for him, firm is his heart, trusting in Yahweh. |
so that he may place him with the leaders, with the leaders of his people. | 8 His heart held steady, he has no fears, til he can gloat over his enemies. |
He causes a barren woman to live in a house, as the joyful mother of sons. | 9 To the needy he gives without stint, his uprightness stands firm for ever; his reputation is founded onstrength. |
The wicked are vexed at the sight, they grind their teeth and waste away. The desires of the wickedwil be frustrated. |
