CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINKING JAMES BIBLE
Alleluia. Praise the Lord, children. Praise the name of the Lord.1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
Blessed is the name of the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
From the rising of the sun, even to its setting, praiseworthy is the name of the Lord.3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory is high above the heavens.4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
Who is like the Lord, our God, who dwells on high,5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
and who gazes upon the humble things in heaven and on earth?6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
He lifts up the needy from the ground, and he urges the poor away from filth,7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
so that he may place him with the leaders, with the leaders of his people.8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
He causes a barren woman to live in a house, as the joyful mother of sons.9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
