Job 41

1 I will not rouse him, as the cruel would do, for who is able to withstand my countenance?	1 Non come crudele susciterò lui; chi adunque puote resistere al mio volto?
2 Who has given to me beforehand, so that I should repay him? All things that are under heaven are mine.	2 E chi mi diede innanzi nulla, ch' io glie lo renda? Tutte le cose che sono sotto lo cielo, sono mie.
3 I will not spare him, nor his powerful words and counterfeit attempts at supplication.	3 Non perdoneroe a lui colle potenti parole e composte a pregare.
4 Who can reveal the beauty of his garment? And who can enter the middle of his mouth?	4 Chi rivelerae la faccia del suo vestire? e chi entrerà nel mezzo della sua bocca?
5 Who can open the doors of his face? I gave fear to the circle of his teeth.	5 Le porte del suo volto chi aprirà? Intorno delli suoi denti è la paura.
6 His body is like shields fused together, like dense scales pressed over one another.	6 Lo suo corpo, quasi scuta fondute, è congiunto colle prementi scaglie.
7 One is joined to another, and not even air can pass between them.	7 L'una all' una si congiugne, acciò che niuno spiraglio vada per quelle.
8 They adhere to one another, and they hold themselves in place and will not be separated.	8 L'una all' altra s' accosteranno, e tenenti sè non si partiranno.
9 His sneezing has the brilliance of fire, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.	9 Lo sternutamento suo splendore è di fuoco, e gli occhii suoi come palpebre dell' aurora.
10 Lamps proceed from his mouth, like torches of fire burning brightly.	10 Della sua bocca procederanno le lampade, sì come le tede accese di fuoco.
11 Smoke passes out of his nostrils, like a pot that is heated and boiling.	11 Uscirae delle nari sue fumo, sì come di pentole accese e bollenti.
12 His breath causes coal to burn, and a flame comes forth from his mouth.	12 L'alito suo fa ardere li pruni, e la fiamma uscì della sua bocca.
13 Strength dwells in his neck, and destitution goes before his presence.	13 Nello suo collo starae la fortezza, e la povertà va innanzi alla sua faccia.
14 The parts of his body work in harmony together. He will send lightning bolts against him, and they will not be carried to another place.	14 Le membra delle sue carni accostantisi a lui; manda contro a lui le saette, e ad altro luogo non sono portate.
15 His heart will be as hard as a stone and as dense as a blacksmith’s anvil.	15 E lo suo cuore s' indurerae come pietra; strignerassi come massa di ferro malleata.
16 When he will be raised up, the angels will be afraid, and, because they are terrified, they will purify themselves.	16 Quando sarae tolto, temeranno gli angeli, e spaventati si purgheranno.
17 When a sword catches up with him, it will not be able to settle in, nor a spear, nor a breastplate.	17 Quando piglierae lui lo coltello, sostenere non potrae nè l'asta nè la corazza.
18 For he will consider iron as if it were chaff, and brass as if it were rotten wood.	18 Riputerae come paglia lo ferro, e sì come legno puzzolente lo rame.
19 The archer will not cause him to flee; the stones of the sling have been turned into stubble for him.	19 E non scaccerà lui l'uomo sagittario; e tornate sono a lui in istipula le pietre della fionda.
20 He will treat the hammer as if it were stubble, and he will ridicule those who brandish the spear.	20 Quasi stipula stimerà lo maglio, e dileggerà lo movente l'asta.
21 The beams of the sun will be under him, and he will dispense gold to them as if it were clay.	21 Sotto lui saranno li radii del sole, e sottometterà a lui l'oro come il fango.
22 He will make the depths of the sea boil like a pot, and he will set it to bubble just as ointments do.	22 E bollire farae, come pentola, lo profondo mare; porrà come quando li unguenti bollono.
23 A path will shine after him; he will esteem the abyss as if it were weakening with age.	23 Dopo lui lucerae la via, e stimerae l'abisso quasi come invecchiante.
24 There is no power on the earth that is being compared to him, who has been made so that he fears no one.	24 Non v'è sopra la terra signoria, che s' assomigli a lui, il quale è fatto che niuno temesse.
25 He sees every prominent thing; he is king over all the sons of arrogance.	25 Ogni cosa alta vede, ed elli è re sopra tutti i figliuoli della superbia.
