Psalmi 129

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Canticum ascensionum. Saepe expugnaverunt me a iuventute mea, dicat nunc Israel,	1 [Song of Ascents] Often as men have attacked me since I was young -- let Israel repeat it-
2 saepe expugnaverunt me a iuventute mea, etenim non potuerunt adversum me.	2 often as men have attacked me since I was young, they have never overcome me.
3 Supra dorsum meum araverunt aratores, prolongaverunt sulcos suos.	3 On my back ploughmen have set to work, making long furrows,
4 Dominus autem iustus concidit cervices peccatorum.	4 but Yahweh the upright has shattered the yoke of the wicked.
5 Confundantur et convertantur retrorsum omnes, qui oderunt Sion.	5 Let al who hate Zion be thrown back in confusion,
6 Fiant sicut fenum tectorum, quod, priusquam evellatur, exaruit;	6 let them be like grass on a roof, dried up before it is cut,
7 de quo non implevit manum suam, qui metit, et sinum suum, qui manipulos colligit.	7 never to fil the reaper's arm nor the binder's lap.
8 Et non dixerunt, qui praeteribant: “ Benedictio Domini super vos, benedicimus vobis in nomine Domini ”.	8 And no passer-by wil say, 'The blessing of Yahweh be on you! 'We bless you in the name ofYahweh.'
