Philippians 2

1 So if in Christ there is anything that will move you, any incentive in love, any fel owship in the Spirit, anywarmth or sympathy -- I appeal to you,	1 ܐܢ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܐܢ ܡܡܠܐ ܒܠܒܐ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܘܐܢ ܫܘܬܦܘܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܘܐܢ ܪܘܚܦܐ ܘܪܚܡܐ ܀
2 make my joy complete by being of a single mind, one in love, one in heart and one in mind.	2 ܫܠܡܘ ܚܕܘܬܝ ܕܚܕ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܘܚܕ ܚܘܒܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܢܦܫ ܘܚܕܐ ܬܪܥܝܬܐ ܀
3 Nothing is to be done out of jealousy or vanity; instead, out of humility of mind everyone should givepreference to others,	3 ܘܡܕܡ ܒܚܪܝܢܐ ܐܘ ܒܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܤܪܝܩܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܡܟܝܟܘܬ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܟܠܢܫ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܝܬܪ ܡܢܗ ܢܚܫܘܒ ܀
4 everyone pursuing not selfish interests but those of others.	4 ܘܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܕܢܦܫܗ ܢܐܨܦ ܐܠܐ ܟܠܢܫ ܐܦ ܕܚܒܪܗ ܀
5 Make your own the mind of Christ Jesus:	5 ܘܗܕܐ ܐܬܪܥܘ ܒܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܗܝ ܕܐܦ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܀
6 Who, being in the form of God, did not count equality with God something to be grasped.	6 ܗܘ ܕܟܕ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܚܫܒܗ ܗܕܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܦܚܡܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܀
7 But he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, becoming as human beings are; and being in everyway like a human being,	7 ܐܠܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܤܪܩ ܘܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܥܒܕܐ ܢܤܒ ܘܗܘܐ ܒܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܘܒܐܤܟܡܐ ܐܫܬܟܚ ܐܝܟ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܀
8 he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross.	8 ܘܡܟܟ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܐܫܬܡܥ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܡܘܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܙܩܝܦܐ ܀
9 And for this God raised him high, and gave him the name which is above al other names;	9 ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܦ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܤܓܝ ܪܡܪܡܗ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܗ ܫܡܐ ܕܡܝܬܪ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܫܡܗܝܢ ܀
10 so that al beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the name ofJesus	10 ܕܒܫܡܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܟܠ ܒܪܘܟ ܬܟܘܦ ܕܒܫܡܝܐ ܘܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܕܠܬܚܬ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܀
11 and that every tongue should acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.	11 ܘܟܠ ܠܫܢ ܢܘܕܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܠܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܀
12 So, my dear friends, you have always been obedient; your obedience must not be limited to timeswhen I am present. Now that I am absent it must be more in evidence, so work out your salvation in fear andtrembling.	12 ܡܟܝܠ ܚܒܝܒܝ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܐܫܬܡܥܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܟܕ ܩܪܝܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܐ ܗܫܐ ܕܪܚܝܩ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܒܕܚܠܬܐ ܘܒܪܬܝܬܐ ܦܠܘܚܘ ܦܘܠܚܢܐ ܕܚܝܝܟܘܢ ܀
13 It is God who, for his own generous purpose, gives you the intention and the powers to act.	13 ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܚܦܛ ܒܟܘܢ ܐܦ ܠܡܨܒܐ ܐܦ ܠܡܤܥܪ ܗܘ ܡܕܡ ܕܨܒܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܀
14 Let your behaviour be free of murmuring and complaining	14 ܟܠܡܕܡ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܪܛܢܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܦܘܠܓ ܀
15 so that you remain faultless and pure, unspoilt children of God surrounded by a deceitful andunderhand brood, shining out among them like bright stars in the world,	15 ܕܬܗܘܘܢ ܬܡܝܡܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܐܝܟ ܒܢܝܐ ܕܟܝܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܡܪܝܢ ܒܕܪܐ ܥܤܩܐ ܘܡܥܩܡܐ ܘܐܬܚܙܘ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܢܗܝܪܐ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܀
16 proffering to it the Word of life. Then I shall have reason to be proud on the Day of Christ, for it wil notbe for nothing that I have run the race and toiled so hard.	16 ܕܐܝܬܝܟܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܕܘܟܬ ܚܝܐ ܠܫܘܒܗܪܝ ܕܝܠܝ ܒܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܩܐ ܪܗܛܬ ܘܠܐ ܤܪܝܩܐܝܬ ܥܡܠܬ ܀
17 Indeed, even if my blood has to be poured as a libation over your sacrifice and the offering of yourfaith, then I shal be glad and join in your rejoicing-	17 ܐܠܐ ܐܦܢ ܡܬܢܩܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܕܒܚܬܐ ܘܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܚܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܪܘܙ ܐܢܐ ܥܡ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܀
18 and in the same way, you must be glad and join in my rejoicing.	18 ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܚܕܘ ܘܪܘܙܘ ܥܡܝ ܀
19 I hope, in the Lord Jesus, to send Timothy to you soon, so that my mind may be set at rest when I hearhow you are.	19 ܡܤܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܕܐܫܕܪ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܛܝܡܬܐܘܤ ܒܥܓܠ ܕܐܦ ܠܝ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܢܝܚܐ ܟܕ ܐܠܦ ܡܛܠܬܟܘܢ ܀
20 There is nobody else that I can send who is like him and cares as sincerely for your well-being;	20 ܠܝܬ ܠܝ ܓܝܪ ܐܚܪܝܢ ܗܪܟܐ ܕܐܝܟ ܢܦܫܝ ܗܘ ܕܐܟܝܦܐܝܬ ܝܨܦ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܀
21 they al want to work for themselves, not for Jesus Christ.	21 ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܗܘ ܒܥܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܀
22 But you know what sort of person he has proved himself, working with me for the sake of the gospellike a son with his father.	22 ܒܘܩܝܗ ܕܝܢ ܕܗܢܐ ܝܕܥܝܬܘܢ ܕܐܝܟ ܒܪܐ ܥܡ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܗܟܢܐ ܦܠܚ ܥܡܝ ܒܤܒܪܬܐ ܀
23 That is the man, then, that I am hoping to send to you immediately I can make out what is going tohappen to me;	23 ܠܗܢܐ ܡܤܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܫܕܪ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܒܥܓܠ ܡܐ ܕܚܙܝܬ ܡܐ ܕܠܘܬܝ ܀
24 but I am confident in the Lord that I shal come myself, too, before long.	24 ܘܬܟܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܡܪܝ ܕܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܒܥܓܠ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܀
25 Nevertheless I thought it essential to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fel ow-worker andcompanion-in-arms since he came as your representative to look after my needs;	25 ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܨܬܢܝ ܨܒܘܬܐ ܕܐܫܕܪ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܐܦܦܪܘܕܝܛܤ ܐܚܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܥܕܪܢܐ ܘܦܠܚܐ ܕܥܡܝ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܘܡܫܡܫܢܐ ܕܚܫܚܬܝ ܀
26 because he was missing you al and was worrying because you had heard that he was il .	26 ܡܛܠ ܕܤܘܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܚܙܐ ܠܟܠܟܘܢ ܘܡܥܩ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܕܥ ܕܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܕܐܬܟܪܗ ܀
27 Indeed he was seriously il and nearly died; but God took pity on him -- and not only on him but also onme, to spare me one grief on top of another.	27 ܐܦ ܐܬܟܪܗ ܓܝܪ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܪܚܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܐ ܐܦ ܥܠܝ ܕܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܥܩܐ ܥܠ ܥܩܐ ܀
28 So I am sending him back as promptly as I can so that you wil have the joy of seeing him again, andthat wil be some comfort to me in my distress.	28 ܚܦܝܛܐܝܬ ܗܟܝܠ ܫܕܪܬܗ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܟܕ ܬܚܙܘܢܝܗܝ ܬܘܒ ܬܚܕܘܢ ܘܠܝ ܩܠܝܠ ܢܗܘܐ ܢܦܐܫܐ ܀
29 Welcome him in the Lord, then, with al joy; hold people like him in honour,	29 ܩܒܠܘܗܝ ܗܟܝܠ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܒܟܠ ܚܕܘܐ ܘܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܩܪܐ ܐܚܘܕܘ ܐܢܘܢ ܀
30 because it was for Christ's work that he came so near to dying, risking his life to do the duty to mewhich you could not do yourselves.	30 ܡܛܠ ܥܒܕܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܡܛܝ ܘܒܤܪ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܗ ܕܢܡܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܒܨܪܬܘܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܕܠܘܬܝ ܀
