1 [Lament Of David Which he sang to Yahweh about Cush the Benjaminite] Yahweh my God, I takerefuge in you, save me from al my pursuers and rescue me,	1 Lamento che David cantò a Jahvè in occasione delle parole di Chush, figlio di Jemini,
2 or he wil savage me like a lion, carry me off with no one to rescue me.	2 Jahvè, mio Dio, in te mi rifugio; salvami da quanti mi inseguono e liberamil
3 Yahweh my God, if I have done this: if injustice has stained my hands,	3 che non laceri come un leone la mia anima, sbranando, né ci sia chi liberi.
4 if I have repaid my al y with treachery or spared one who attacked me unprovoked,	4 O Jahvè, mio Dio, se tale cosa ho fatto, se c’è ingiustizia nelle mie mani,
5 may an enemy hunt me down and catch me, may he trample my life into the ground and crush my vitalparts into the dust.Pause	5 se ho ripagato al mio amico il male e ho spogliato chi mi avversa senza ragione,
6 Arise, Yahweh, in your anger, rise up against the arrogance of my foes. Awake, my God, you demandjudgement.	6 insegua pure il nemico l’anima mia e raggiunga e calpesti in terra la mia vita e prostri il mio onore nella polvere.
7 Let the assembly of nations gather round you; return above it on high!	7 Sorgi, Jahvè, nella tua ira, levati contro i furori dei miei nemici; svegliati al giudizio che hai ordinato.
8 (Yahweh judges the nations.) Judge me, Yahweh, as my uprightness and my integrity deserve.	8 E l’accolta dei popoli ti circondi, e su di essa in alto ritorna:
9 Put an end to the malice of the wicked, make the upright stand firm, you who discern hearts and minds,God the upright.	9 Jahvè giudica i popoli Giudicami, Jahvè, secondo la mia giustizia e secondo l’innocenza che è in mio favore,
10 God is a shield that protects me, saving the honest of heart.	10 Si consumi la malizia dei: peccatori, si affermi la mia giustizia. Saggiatore dei cuori e dei reni, il Dio giusto.
11 God is an upright judge, slow to anger, but a God at al times threatening	11 Il mio scudo è in Dio, salvatore dei retti di cuore.
12 for those who wil not repent. Let the enemy whet his sword, draw his bow and make ready;	12 Dio giudica il giusto; Dio che ogni giorno si indigna.
13 but he is making ready instruments of death for himself and tipping his arrows with fire;	13 Certo torna ad arrotare la spada; l’arco ha teso, lo punta.
14 look at him: pregnant with malice, conceiving spite, he gives birth to treachery.	14 E si è preparato strumenti di morte, le sue saette arroventa.
15 He digs a trap, scoops it out, but he fal s into the snare he made himself.	15 Ecco concepisce malizia è gravido di nequizia e genera menzogna.
16 His spite recoils on his own head, his brutality falls back on his own skul .	16 Un pozzo ha inciso e lo ha scavato, ma cade nella fossa che fa.
17 I thank Yahweh for his saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.	17 Ritorna il suo male sopra il suo capo e sulla testa gli scende la sua violenza.
	18 Loderò Jahvè secondo la sua giustizia, e canterò il nome di Jahvè, l’Altissimo.
