Leviticus 17

1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
2 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, as well as to all the Israelites, and tell them: This is what the LORD has commanded.	2 "Dize a Aarão, a seus filhos e a todos os israelitas o seguinte: eis as ordens do Senhor:
3 Any Israelite who slaughters an ox or a sheep or a goat, whether in the camp or outside of it,	3 Todo israelita que imolar um boi, uma ovelha ou uma cabra, no acampamento ou fora dele,
4 without first bringing it to the entrance of the meeting tent to present it as an offering to the LORD in front of his Dwelling, shall be judged guilty of bloodshed; and for this, such a man shall be cut off from among his people.	4 sem apresentá-lo à entrada da tenda de reunião para oferecê-lo ao Senhor diante do seu tabernáculo, será réu do sangue oferecido. Esse homem derramou sangue, e será cortado do meio de seu povo.
5 Therefore, such sacrifices as they used to offer up in the open field the Israelites shall henceforth offer to the LORD, bringing them to the priest at the entrance of the meeting tent and sacrificing them there as peace offerings to the LORD.	5 Por isso os israelitas, em lugar de ofereceram os seus sacrifícios no campo, apresentarão as vítimas ao sacerdote, diante do Senhor, à entrada da tenda de reunião, e as oferecerão ao Senhor em sacrifício pacífico.
6 The priest shall splash the blood on the altar of the LORD at the entrance of the meeting tent and there burn the fat for an odor pleasing to the LORD.	6 O sacerdote derramará o seu sangue sobre o altar do Senhor, à entrada da tenda de reunião, e queimará a gordura em odor agradável ao Senhor.
7 No longer shall they offer their sacrifices to the satyrs to whom they used to render their wanton worship. This shall be an everlasting ordinance for them and their descendants.	7 Nunca mais oferecerão os seus sacrifícios aos sátiros, com os quais se prostituem. Esta será para eles uma lei perpétua de geração em geração.
8 "Tell them, therefore: Anyone, whether of the house of Israel or of the aliens residing among them, who offers a holocaust or sacrifice	8 Dir-lhes-ás: todo israelita ou todo estrangeiro que habita no meio deles, e que oferecer um holocausto ou outro sacrifício,
9 without bringing it to the entrance of the meeting tent to offer it to the LORD, shall be cut off from his kinsmen.	9 sem levar a vítima à entrada da tenda de reunião para sacrificá-la ao Senhor, será cortado do meio de seu povo.
10 And if anyone, whether of the house of Israel or of the aliens residing among them, partakes of any blood, I will set myself against that one who partakes of blood and will cut him off from among his people.	10 A todo israelita ou a todo estrangeiro, que habita no meio deles, e que comer qualquer espécie de sangue, voltarei minha face contra ele, e exterminá-lo-ei do meio de seu povo.
11 Since the life of a living body is in its blood, I have made you put it on the altar, so that atonement may thereby be made for your own lives, because it is the blood, as the seat of life, that makes atonement.	11 Pois a alma da carne está no sangue, e dei-vos esse sangue para o altar, a fim de que ele sirva de expiação por vossas almas, porque é pela alma que o sangue expia.
12 That is why I have told the Israelites: No one among you, not even a resident alien, may partake of blood.	12 Eis por que eu disse aos israelitas: ninguém dentre vós comerá sangue, nem o estrangeiro que habita no meio de vós.
13 "Anyone hunting, whether of the Israelites or of the aliens residing among them, who catches an animal or a bird that may be eaten, shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth.	13 Se um israelita ou um estrangeiro que habita no meio deles capturar na caça um animal ou pássaro que se possa comer, derramará o seu sangue, e o cobrirá com terra,
14 Since the life of every living body is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You shall not partake of the blood of any meat. Since the life of every living body is its blood, anyone who partakes of it shall be cut off.	14 porque a alma de toda carne é o seu sangue, que é sua alma. Eis por que eu disse aos israelitas: não comereis sangue de animal algum, porque a alma de toda carne é o seu sangue; quem o comer será elimitado.
15 "Everyone, whether a native or an alien, who eats of an animal that died of itself or was killed by a wild beast, shall wash his garments, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening, and then he will be clean.	15 Toda pessoa, natural ou estrangeira, que comer um animal morto ou dilacerado, lavará suas vestes, banhar-se-á em água e ficará impura até a tarde; e depois será pura.
16 If he does not wash or does not bathe his body, he shall have the guilt to bear."	16 Mas, se não lavar as vestes e o corpo, levará sobre si a sua iniqüidade."
