1 Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel;	1 Accesseruntque principes familiarum Levi ad Eleazarum sacerdotem et Iosue filium Nun et ad duces cognationum per singulas tribus filiorum Israel
2 And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.	2 locutique sunt ad eos in Silo terrae Chanaan atque dixerunt: “ Dominus praecepit per manum Moysi, ut darentur nobis urbes ad habitandum et suburbana earum ad alenda iumenta ”.
3 And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.	3 Dederuntque filii Israel Levitis de possessionibus suis, iuxta imperium Domini, civitates illas et suburbana earum.
4 And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.	4 Egressaque est sors in familias Caath: et acceperunt filii Aaron sacerdotis de tribubus Iudae et Simeon et Beniamin civitates tredecim.
5 And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.	5 Et reliqui filiorum Caath, id est Levitae, acceperunt de tribubus Ephraim et Dan et dimidia tribu Manasse civitates decem.
6 And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.	6 Porro filiis Gerson egressa est sors, ut acciperent de tribubus Issachar et Aser et Nephthali dimidiaque tribu Manasse in Basan civitates numero tredecim.
7 The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.	7 Et filiis Merari per cognationes suas de tribubus Ruben et Gad et Zabulon urbes duodecim.
8 And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.	8 Dederuntque filii Israel Levitis civitates illas et suburbana earum, sicut praecepit Dominus per manum Moysi, singulis sorte tribuentes.
9 And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name,	9 De tribubus filiorum Iudae et Simeon dederunt civitates, quarum ista sunt nomina,
10 Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.	10 filiis Aaron ex familiis Caath levitici generis — prima enim sors illis egressa est C:
11 And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.	11 Cariatharbe (id est civitas Arbe), patris Enac, quae vocatur Hebron, in monte Iudae et suburbana eius per circuitum.
12 But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.	12 Agros vero et villas eius dederant Chaleb filio Iephonne ad possidendum.
13 Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs,	13 Dederunt ergo filiis Aaron sacerdotis Hebron confugii civitatem ac suburbana eius et Lobnam cum suburbanis suis
14 And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,	14 et Iether et Esthemo
15 And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,	15 et Helon et Dabir
16 And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.	16 et Ain et Iutta et Bethsames cum suburbanis suis: civitates novem de tribubus illis duabus.
17 And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,	17 De tribu autem Beniamin Gabaon et Gabaa
18 Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities.	18 et Anathoth et Almath cum suburbanis suis: civitates quattuor.
19 All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.	19 Omnes simul civitates filiorum Aaron sacerdotis tredecim cum suburbanis suis.
20 And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.	20 Reliquis vero ex familiis filiorum Caath Levitis haec est data possessio:
21 For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs,	21 de tribu Ephraim urbs confugii Sichem cum suburbanis suis in monte Ephraim et Gazer
22 And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Beth-horon with her suburbs; four cities.	22 et Cibsaim et Bethoron cum suburbanis suis: civitates quattuor.
23 And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,	23 De tribu quoque Dan Elthece et Gebbethon
24 Aijalon with her suburbs, Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; four cities.	24 et Aialon et Gethremmon cum suburbanis suis: civitates quattuor.
25 And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with her suburbs; two cities.	25 Porro de dimidia tribu Manasse Thanach et Gethremmon cum suburbanis suis: civitates duae.
26 All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.	26 Omnes civitates decem et suburbana earum datae sunt filiis Caath inferioris gradus.
27 And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beesh-terah with her suburbs; two cities.	27 Filiis quoque Gerson levitici generis dederunt de dimidia tribu Manasse confugii civitatem Golan in Basan et Astharoth cum suburbanis suis: civitates duas.
28 And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,	28 Porro de tribu Issachar Cesion et Dabereth
29 Jarmuth with her suburbs, En-gannim with her suburbs; four cities.	29 et Iaramoth et Engannim cum suburbanis suis: civitates quattuor.
30 And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,	30 De tribu autem Aser Masal et Abdon
31 Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities.	31 et Helcath et Rohob cum suburbanis suis: civitates quattuor.
32 And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammoth-dor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities.	32 De tribu quoque Nephthali civitas confugii Cedes in Galilaea et Ammothdor et Carthan cum suburbanis suis: civitates tres.
33 All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.	33 Omnes urbes familiarum Gerson tredecim cum suburbanis suis.
34 And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,	34 Filiis autem Merari Levitis inferioris gradus per familias suas data est de tribu Zabulon Iecnaam et Cartha
35 Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities.	35 et Remmon et Naalol: civitates quattuor cum suburbanis suis.
36 And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,	36 De tribu Ruben ultra Iordanem contra Iericho civitas refugii Bosor in solitudine planitiei et Iasa
37 Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities.	37 et Cademoth et Mephaath: civitates quattuor cum suburbanis suis.
38 And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs,	38 Et de tribu Gad civitas confugii Ramoth in Galaad et Mahanaim
39 Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all.	39 et Hesebon et Iazer: civitates quattuor cum suburbanis suis.
40 So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.	40 Omnes urbes filiorum Merari per familias reliquas de cognationibus Levitarum duodecim.
41 All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.	41 Itaque universae civitates Levitarum in medio possessionis filiorum Israel fuerunt quadraginta octo
42 These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.	42 cum suburbanis suis, singulae cum suburbanis suis in circuitu.
43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.	43 Deditque Dominus Israeli omnem terram, quam traditurum se patribus eorum iuraverat, et possederunt illam atque habitaverunt in ea.
44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.	44 Deditque Dominus eis requiem secundum omnia, quae iuraverat patribus eorum, nullusque eis hostium resistere ausus est, sed cunctos in eorum dicionem redegit.
45 There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.	45 Ne unum quidem verbum bonum, quod locutus est ad domum Israel, irritum fuit, sed rebus expleta sunt omnia.
