1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.	1 Il monte, celui qui te renversera, qui (te) tiendra assiégée (le siège) ; surveille le chemin, fortifie tes reins, rassemble toutes tes (augmente extrêmement ta) force(s).
2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.	2 Car le Seigneur rétablit la gloire de Jacob et la gloire d'Israël, parce que les dévastateurs les ont pillés (dispersés) et ont détruit leurs sarments.
3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.	3 Le bouclier de ses héros (braves) est embrasé, les guerriers sont vêtus de pourpre ; les rênes des (de son) char(s) étincellent (sont de feu) au jour du combat, et leurs conducteurs sont assoupis.
4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.	4 Ils se rencontrent (sont allés sans ordre) sur les routes, les chars se heurtent (sont heurtés) sur les places ; à les voir, on dirait des lampes, des éclairs qui courent (sillonnant les nues).
5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make hast to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.	5 Il se souviendra de ses héros (braves), ils précipiteront (tomberont dans) leur marche ; ils se hâteront de monter sur les murs, et ils prépareront (il leur sera préparé) des abris.
6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.	6 Les portes des fleuves sont (ont été) ouvertes, et le temple est (a été) détruit au ras du sol.
7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.	7 Le soldat est (a été) fait prisonnier, ses servantes (s)ont (été) emmenées, gémissant comme des colombes et murmurant dans leur cœur.
8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.	8 Les eaux de Ninive étaient comme les eaux d'un étang (une piscine d'eaux) ; mais ils ont pris la fuite. Arrêtez, arrêtez ! mais personne ne revient.
9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.	9 Pillez l'argent, pillez l'or ; ses richesses sont sans fin, elle est remplie d'objets précieux.
10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.	10 Elle est (a été) détruite, renversée et déchirée ; les cœurs se dessèchent (s'est fondu), les genoux tremblent (ont tremblé), tous les reins sont sans force, et les visages de tous sont noirs comme une chaudière (marmite).
11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?	11 Où est (Ninive,) le repaire des lions, et le pâturage des lionceaux, où le lion se retirait avec ses petits, sans qu'il y eût personne pour les troubler (qui l'épouvante) ?
12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.	12 Le lion apportait (a apporté) une proie suffisante pour ses petits, il égorgeait (a égorgé) pour ses lionnes ; il remplissait (a rempli) ses antres de (sa) proie, et son repaire de rapines.
13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.	13 Voici, je viens à toi, dit le Seigneur des armées ; je mettrai le feu à tes chars, et je le réduirai en fumée ; l'épée dévorera tes jeunes lions (lionceaux) ; j'arracherai du pays ta proie, et l'on n'entendra plus la voix de tes messagers.
