2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.	2 Lorsque David fit la guerre aux Syriens de Mésopotamie et à ceux de Soba, et que Joab revint de la vallée du Sel, victorieux de 12 000 Édomites.
3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.	3 Ô Dieu, tu nous as rejetés, mis en pièces, tu étais irrité, reviens donc à nous.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.	4 Tu as ébranlé le pays, il s’est lézardé; répare ses brèches, car il s’écroule.
5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.	5 Tu en as fait voir de dures à ton peuple, nous faisant boire un vin qui donne le vertige.
6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.	6 Tu portais l’étendard de ceux qui te craignent, mais tu l’as mis derrière: ils ont fui devant l’arc.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;	7 Délivre maintenant ceux que tu aimes, que ta main nous sauve, aie pitié de nous!
8 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.	8 Dieu a parlé dans son sanctuaire: “Je suis plein d’allant, je vais partager Sichem et lotir la vallée des Tentes.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?	9 Je prends pour moi Galaad et Manassé, Éphraïm aussi, il sera mon casque, et Juda, mon bâton de commandement.
10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?	10 Alors Moab sera ma cuvette, pour m’y laver, je jetterai ma sandale sur Édom, je lancerai le cri de guerre contre les Philistins.”
11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.	11 Qui donc nous mènera à la ville forte, qui nous conduira jusqu’en terre d’Édom?
12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.	12 Qui sinon toi, ô Dieu? Mais tu nous as rejetés, tu ne sors plus avec nos troupes.
	13 Aide-nous contre l’oppresseur, car rien n’est décevant comme un secours humain.
	14 Avec Dieu nous ferons des merveilles, il écrasera nos adversaires.
