1 Le lot des fils de Joseph partait à l'est du Jourdain de Jéricho -- les eaux de Jéricho --, c'est le désertqui monte de Jéricho dans la montagne de Béthel;	1 The lot that fell to the Josephites extended from the Jordan at Jericho to the waters of Jericho east of the desert; then the boundary went up from Jericho to the heights at Bethel.
2 puis il partait de Béthel vers Luz et passait vers la frontière des Arkites à Atarot;	2 Leaving Bethel for Luz, it crossed the ridge to the border of the Archites at Ataroth,
3 il descendait ensuite à l'ouest vers la frontière des Yaphlétites jusqu'à la frontière de Bet-Horôn-le-Bas et jusqu'à Gézer, d'où il aboutissait à la mer.	3 and descended westward to the border of the Japhletites, to that of the Lower Beth-horon, and to Gezer, ending thence at the sea.
4 Tel fut l'héritage des fils de Joseph, Manassé et Ephraïm.	4 Within the heritage of Manasseh and Ephraim, sons of Joseph,
5 Quant au territoire des fils d'Ephraïm selon leurs clans, la frontière de leur héritage était Atrot-Arakjusqu'à Bet-Horôn-le-Haut,	5 the dividing line for the heritage of the clans of the Ephraimites ran from east of Ataroth-addar to Upper Bethhoron
6 puis la frontière aboutissait à la mer... le Mikmetat au nord, et la frontière tournait à l'orient versTaanat-Silo qu'elle traversait à l'est en direction de Yanoah;	6 and thence to the sea. From Michmethath on the north, their boundary curved eastward around Taanath-shiloh, and continued east of it to Janoah;
7 elle descendait de Yanoah à Atarot et à Naara, et touchait Jéricho pour aboutir au Jourdain.	7 from there it descended to Ataroth and Naarah, and skirting Jericho, it ended at the Jordan.
8 De Tappuah, la frontière allait vers l'occident, au torrent de Qana, et aboutissait à la mer. Tel futl'héritage de la tribu des fils d'Ephraïm, selon leurs clans,	8 From Tappuah the boundary ran westward to the Wadi Kanah and ended at the sea. This was the heritage of the clans of the Ephraimites,
9 outre les villes réservées aux fils d'Ephraïm au milieu de l'héritage des fils de Manassé, toutes cesvilles et leurs villages.	9 including the villages that belonged to each city set aside for the Ephraimites within the territory of the Manassehites.
10 Les Cananéens habitant Gézer ne furent point dépossédés, et ils demeurèrent au milieu d'Ephraïmjusqu'aujourd'hui, soumis à la corvée.	10 But they did not drive out the Canaanites living in Gezer, who live on within Ephraim to the present day, though they have been impressed as laborers.
