1 In the tenth year, the tenth month, the eleventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 La dixième année, le dixième mois, le onzième jour du mois, la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes :
2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharao king of Egypt: and thou shalt prophesy of him, and of all Egypt:	2 Fils de (d'un) l'homme, tourne ton visage contre le pharaon (Pharaon), roi d'Egypte, et prophétise contre lui et contre toute l'Egypte.
3 Speak, and say: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against thee, Pharao king of Egypt, thou great dragon that liest in the midst of thy rivers, and sayest: The river is mine, and I made myself.	3 Parle, et dis : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, je viens à toi, pharaon (Pharaon), roi d'Egypte, grand dragon, qui te couches au milieu de tes fleuves, et qui dis : Le fleuve est à moi, et je me suis créé moi-même.
4 But I will put a bridle in thy jaws: and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick to thy scales: and I will draw thee out of the midst of thy rivers, and all thy fish shall stick to thy scales.	4 Je mettrai un frein à tes mâchoires, et je collerai à tes écailles les poissons de tes fleuves, et je te tirerai du milieu de tes fleuves, et tous tes poissons adhéreront à tes écailles.
5 And I will cast thee forth into the desert, and all the fish of thy river: thou shalt fall upon the face of the earth, thou shalt not be taken up, nor gathered together: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the earth, and to the fowls of the air.	5 Je te jetterai dans le désert avec tous les poissons de ton fleuve ; tu tomberas sur la face de la terre ; tu ne seras pas relevé ni ramassé ; je te donnerai en pâture aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux du ciel.
6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord: because thou hast been a staff of a reed to the house of Israel.	6 Et tous les habitants de l'Egypte sauront que je suis le Seigneur, parce que tu as été un bâton de roseau pour la maison d'Israël,
7 When they took hold of thee with the hand thou didst break, and rent all their shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou brokest, and weakenest all their loins.	7 lorsqu'ils t'ont pris avec la main, tu t'es brisé, et tu leur as déchiré toute l'épaule ; et lorsqu'ils s'appuyaient sur toi, tu t'es rompu, et tu as brisé tous leurs reins.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will bring the sword upon thee: and cut off man and beast out of thee.	8 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, j'amènerai sur toi le glaive, et j'exterminerai du milieu de toi les hommes et les bêtes.
9 And the land of Egypt shall become a desert, and a wilderness: and they shall know that I am the Lord: because thou hast said: The river is mine, and I made	9 Le pays d'Egypte deviendra un désert et une solitude ; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, parce que tu as dit : Le fleuve est à moi, et c'est moi qui l'ai fait.
10 Therefore, behold I come against thee, and thy rivers: and I will make the land of Egypt utterly desolate, and wasted by the sword, from the tower of Syene, even to the borders of Ethiopia.	10 C'est pourquoi voici, je viens à toi et à tes fleuves ; et je changerai le pays d'Egypte en solitudes, après que la guerre l'aura ravagé depuis la tour de Syène jusqu'aux frontières de l'Ethiopie.
11 The foot of man shall not pass through it, neither shall the foot of beasts go through it: nor shall it be inhabited during forty years.	11 Le pied de l'homme n'y passera pas, et le pied des bêtes n'y marchera pas, et il ne sera pas habité pendant quarante ans.
12 And I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the lands that are desolate, and the cities thereof in the midst of the cities that are destroyed, and they shall be desolate for forty gears: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.	12 Je ferai du pays d'Egypte un désert au milieu des pays déserts, et ses villes (ruinées) seront au milieu des villes détruites (ruinées), et elles seront désolées pendant quarante ans ; je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, et je les disséminerai (au vent) en divers pays.
13 For thus saith the Lord God: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the people among whom they had been scattered.	13 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : A la fin des quarante ans, je rassemblerai les Egyptiens du milieu des peuples parmi lesquels ils avaient été dispersés.
14 And I will bring hack the captivity of Egypt, and will place them in the land of Phatures, in the land of their nativity, and they shall be there a low kingdom:	14 Je ramènerai les captifs d'Egypte, et je les établirai dans le pays de Phathurès, dans le pays de leur naissance, et là ils formeront un humble royaume.
15 It shall be the lowest among other kingdoms, and it shall no more be exalted over the nations, and I will diminish them that they shall rule no more over the nations.	15 Ce sera le plus humble de tous les royaumes, et il ne s'élèvera plus au-dessus des nations, et je les amoindrirai, afin qu'ils ne commandent plus (pas) aux nations.
16 And they shall be no more a confidence to the house of Israel, teaching iniquity, that they may flee, and follow them: and they shall know that I am the Lord God.	16 Ils ne seront plus un sujet de confiance pour la maison d'Israël, leur (lui) enseignant l'iniquité, pour qu'ils fuient et les suivent, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur Dieu.
17 And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first of the month: that the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	17 La vingt-septième année, le premier jour du premier mois, la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes :
18 Son of man, Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon hath made his army to undergo hard service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: and there hath been no reward given him, nor his army for Tyre, for the service that he rendered me against	18 Fils de (d'un) l'homme, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a fait faire à son armée un pénible service (grand travail) contre Tyr ; toutes les têtes sont chauves, et toutes les épaules écorchées (dépilées) ; et aucune récompense ne lui a été donnée, ni à son armée, pour le service (travail) qu'il m'a rendu contre Tyr.
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will set Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon in the land of Egypt: and he shall take her multitude, and take the booty thereof for a prey, and rifle the spoils thereof: and it shall be wages for his army.	19 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, je vais donner à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, le pays d'Egypte ; et il en prendra le peuple, il en fera son butin, et il en partagera les dépouilles ; ce sera la (une) récompense de (pour) son armée,
20 And for the service that he hath done me against it: I have given him the land of Egypt, because he hath laboured for me, saith the Lord God.	20 et du service qu'il m'a rendu contre Tyr. Je lui ai donné le pays d'Egypte, parce qu'il a travaillé pour moi, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
21 In that day a horn shall bud forth to the house of Israel, and I will give thee an open mouth in the midst of them: and they shall know that I am the Lord.	21 En ce jour-là la puissance (une corne) de la maison d'Israël refleurira (à la maison d'Israël), et je t'ouvrirai la bouche au milieu d'eux ; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
